Very ambitious of you to be building a 55 yr old truck. I guess the one w/ the camper is the most complete even the bumper looks good. This is going to be a process you'll remember for a long time. These were all work vehicles, driven hard & put away when their lives were over. Best of luck,I'd do a Google search & try to find one still running for 10k.
Thanks Richard yes I know I’m a little nuts but hopeful in my journey to do a restoration so I can learn the ins and outs of doing one. Stay tuned more to come soon!
I know the large farm truck cab is the same but can't remember if the cab mounts are exactly the same but a lot of those are in better shape than the pick up cabs. Just something to consider.
The large trucks also had factory running boards due to how high they sat which also protected the rockers. I think you are correct that the cab mounts are different.
Thank you for the video , I’m building a 70 gmc swb myself I’ve found original pieces , it’s taken me 2 years though, but it was definitely cheaper lol
My 67 has the big back glass. 67 custom came both ways. Still have the build sheet in the glove box that says big back glass with the serial number to match
it looks like that was option to have it with the small window and only a limited number were made, but majority appears to still have the big back window! thank you for bringing this up!
Hey dude bro do you what you need it is going to be a Amazon Laser welder/cleaner cutter and then it helps you to get rid of the rust this 1972 Chevrolet c10 Cab roof and then that's all what you need.
Crazy how they're trying to find a MINT cab & looks like they're really tight ssa holes they won't pay up for a really good cab. I hate dealing with buyers like that. The funny thing is they're body men & will tell you that they can do all this type of work but they're just full of sht. Yeah 50 plus yr. old cabs wonder why they aren't in mint condition?
Buying an old truck and fixing it up is the funnest thing to do for me … even tho i don’t have to i still fix up trucks .. its my hobby .. it might be a east Tn thing idk … i hope y’all enjoy it like i do !!!

Hi Rana .My buddy did the same with his 1950 f1 and cab was in same shape rotted, beat the owner did great with overboard with putty.Maybe cut out and beat the cab back to factory. Its all pricey unfortunately. Especially the past few years.
I must be a lot better than I thought as you have one decent cab. I can't imagine how bad and someone not being able to recue it as to building another cab. You haven't really used any used parts. Always new so why now. Western Kansas has complete rust free cabs that will probably have some rodent damage but even so, you should be able to even get past that
Hola to you beautiful people I am glad that I watch your ch I am looking for a 72 short bed frame or. 70 thank you all I will try to find my way up there
hey Robert, appreciate the feedback I have been looking at some from the midwest but Im also exploring on ways to save my cab! keep an eye out for the next video!
I have a c10 that came with leafsprings 1972 with a 402 396 bored original it came with disc brakes in front and ac but why does it have leaf springs only one I've seen like that it came from longhorn chevrolet still has the original long horn chevrolet decals on it
@@RanasRadar Hey thanks ! I have a one owner with 63k original miles and has been sitting in the edge of their yard since 1998. Body is straight and solid but for the rocker panels, they are mostly gone. Did you see any decent tailgates? I need one. Hey Thank for the speedy reply! My other project is a 49’ Packard Std 8 touring sedan .
Time into the video 2:56. That cab isn't worth 10 cents. Even if it were to be used to move junk around a large property I'd walk away from that one. I doubt that roof will keep the water out. If it happens keep the water out today it won't be long before it stops doing that. That's ok because you'll be keeping a caulk-gun and an assortment of sealants in the cab to keep dust and water from coming in the floor, door bottoms, and rockers anyway. That roof looks like it'll end up looking like an Irish castle very soon.
@@RanasRadar i figured that out later in the video but didn’t kno how to edit or delete my comment Or even how to find it again. I chew gum like I am trying to abuse it but not w a microphone on. Never heard of a C10 car. Came here to say that and gone click the do not recommend this channel. Can’t deal with people that don’t know a car from a truck.
Not sure what your saying perhaps the pronunciation may have lead to the misunderstanding, but this is just my journey in my first restoration of a 72 Chevy c10 , but thank you anyway for stopping by and giving the feedback hopefully you find what you’re looking for.
Always check left upper cab at windshield, they rust there from inside !!!,factory air cab is great ,but vintage air does a great job!!!
Thank you for the tip! I’ll definitely keep it in mind and your right vintage air is awesome and I’ll most likely go down that path.

You better be getting on your hands and knees and looking at those Cab mounts. They are known for rotting out....
Yep I’ve noticed, with my original cab we had to cut it off it was so bad.
Love your vidieos

Just have patients you will find a good cab.young lady i cant wsit to see your truck after you truck is finished 😊
yes i will be as patient as possible with me lol haha
That s a great question, asking if other cabs will fit.
thank you, hope it helps others too!
Thanks a bunch keep doing good on your vidieos
Thank you for the support!
Hey Rana shame about your original cab..hope you find a good A/C cab soon..take care and i very much look forward to your next C10 update
Thanks Garry 🙏
Look for a heavy duty larger series truck. Interchangeable cabs, higher off the ground = less rust. Check it out.
Thanks Raymond, that’s true all these that are on the ground have issues.
There’s a lot 68 to 72 in that place where I am they all gone I haven’t seen a 68 to 72 in years there’s a hole row in that yard
Yes it does
Good luck they’re hard to find 😊❤
they are so Im looking to see if i can save my cab! next update on my c10 coming shortly.

It’s not rust, the damage is from an impact the cab took, it’s fixable but will be pricey.
The larger trucks are going to be better shape because they sat higher off the ground maybe an old fire or grain truck
That’s good to know when I look into restoring a COE!
About a hundred buck
And I just bought a 68 big window great shape stepside 200 in san antonio texas
nice those trucks fully restored look amazing!

72 will have leaf springs. I bet it has a 5 bolt wheel too.
leaf springs were optional on the chevys with the trailing arms/coil springs being standard. I think in the GMCs it was reversed
Looks like it got.a lot of rust
We call my truck the coke a cola truck cause it's red and white original color
