(TVXQ held a 2 day concert at the Tokyo Dome in 2009 and SHINee held their first concert there in 2014. EXO didn't even debut until 2012.) There is an unwritten rule that in order to be allowed to hold an event at the Tokyo Dome, which is one of the largest concert venues in Japan, you have to be able to fill it to capacity, which is why SM artists are some of the few groups that never have to ask to hold a concert there because they know they will all sell out within minutes or even seconds of tickets going on sale. Tokyo Dome executives often even contact SM to ask them when they want to hold their next event. SM artists are megastars in Japan and several of SM's groups like TVXQ, SHINee and BoA, etc. are so popular that they are considered even more popular than Japanese artists.
