I've seen a 4g63 beat lambo cylinders don't matter for shit as long as you have the power. PROOF you ask? We'll just look at all these 232ci giving lambos a run for there money there just 200hp behind. So no cylinders DONT matter the only down fall to having less cylinders is you have less heat to spread so the motor will get hot quicker the. A v8 motor or v10

That is an epic Supra. The bane of the RWD cars at this power level and beyond, traction.....Supra was on MT ET Street Radials too, more props for being street legal. I still love the Supra, and always will. All the cars there are awesome though.....one of the best racing events in the world for the cars that are competing.

For a car making 1500rwhp on tap and a 6speed not dialed in all the way for traction IM IMPRESSED. These car must be a monster to tame. Going against a car with way better traction,more power and a paddle shifters vs a straight manual(not all of them). great video.
The 2JZ was NEVER designed for 300hp, it was designed for far more knowing that the people who bought the car, would exploit the potential that the motor was actually designed for... At the time the Supra was made, there was a Gentleman's agreement between the Japanese car manufacturers to not go over 280hp. So they lied about their HP rating, and also detuned the car knowing that as soon as someone bought it, they would unleash the extra HP. For instance, it's a well known fact that the 2JZ can handle 800-1000 HP on factory internals...
Engines are limited by how much air they can suck in. Turbos force compressed air into the engine. More air = more fuel can be burned = more powaaaaaah
It seems like once you cross the 1000whp threshold the returns aren't worth the investment. That one race the Supra had a 250hp advantage and barely won. Above 1000hp the only thing that should be focused on is getting traction and dialing in the suspension. Call me crazy but I would be thrilled with 700 or 800hp. I would much rather have 800hp and get traction than have 1000hp and just spin my tires and break shit. I could live with losing to the 0.1% of cars that are faster than that.
Also, you have great bearing life with a 2jz at 800hp;) On supraforums, you see lots of guys drive years without problems at that power level. You can drive that thing everyday and you dont need a slick drag radial.

UgenixK Nice! I have a Lexus SC300 and I love it. It's the Supras little brother. Same 2JZ engine, transmission, subframe, etc. If you buy an auto Supra just know that your only real option to hold big power is a Chevy TH400 transmission. When done right though, I think they're actually a lot faster than the 6 speeds because they stay in boost through the gears.

TheEaglesTalon25 Drivetrain power losses are way diminished by the acceleration ability of an AWD. If you race an AWD with same hp as your RWD, you will be guaranteeing yourself a loss; especially in 1/4mile. AWDs have better power management when it comes to putting horsepower to the ground. That is why most high end cars utilize the design (Lamborghini, Bugatti, Porshe, even the Tesla). The benefit of traction out weighs the loss of a few ponies. RWD has its beneficial places as well.

If someone can afford a porsche they can probably afford a top end RWD front engine that will beat out a porsche built for the same cost... simply put if you buy a porsche to drag race it you have more money than brains IMO...
563ripper a porsche was designed to be competitive on road courses without needing a ton of hp, this was done by creating a body that produces alot of downforce... incase you didnt know alot of downforce in a straight reduces your top speed which is pretty counterproductive in a drag race... putting 1000+hp into a porsche just shows you dont understand the car or the engineering behind it...
