- Just did a quick video as I was removing the door panel on my 2008 Yaris HB to replace the speakers.Here are some of my parts used.
6.5" Pioneer speakers:

Thank you so much for this video. Someone did a hit and run on my drivers side door. This helped me push the panel out, relieving the lock and now my door handle works. Saved me so much money getting it fixed!
Sorry to hear about the hit and run, Hope you were not in the car when it was hit. That's a real bummer. I always think Karma has a way of catching up to people who do things like that. Hope your Yaris isn't damaged too bad. Also Thanks for the comment, its nice to know the video helped. :-)
Thank you so much! I decided to try replacing my own factory door speakers that blew out a while back and had trouble finding instructions to remove the door panel on my particular 2009 hatchback. Your video was perfect and very helpful. I'll let you know how the speaker install goes. Thanks again!

Yeah it is. Im "fresh" owner of '09 Yaris and someone broke my sidemirror. I replaced it thanks to forum and you. Now im painting the plastic (my car is white) hopefully at the end it will be same kind of white (its a bit darker now).
Isah305 congratulations on the Yaris! I love mine, they are so reliable it’s great. I think you made a great choice getting one 😀. Its funny my family always wants to drive it when they go downtown as it’s super easy to find a parking spot as it’s so small. (I got a hatchback. ) I am at 140,000 miles so far. But have read on YW about people with over 500k.
@@MyRandomTechBlog Thanks 😁 Yeah. Small , in a way fast, and very reliable. Very practical too, expecially in towns where there are a lot of cars and not so much space for them. I have hatchback too. Mine curently is at cca 189000. I hope it will be same case for both of us - over 500k.
Hey bro, are the door speakers held in with screws or the dreaded rivets? I wanna upgrade my door speakers too.
It was a while ago I replaced the original speakers. I think you are correct and it was held on by rivets that I had drilled out. Then I used some of these 6.5 speaker adaptors from amazon : amzn.to/2BKzseU

What size are the speakers?
Is the rear door speaker size same as the front or just add on adapter so that can install the same size as the front ?
If I recall correctly I just used the adapter in the front. My yaris is a 2 door hatchback and I think the back panels were already 6.5. (I installed new 6.5" for front and back)
What is the easiest way to remove the plastic sealant after removing the panel
I wish I could say there was an easy way. It was a pain for me as that stuff is crazy sticky. I just took my time and did it as carefully and slow as possible to try not to tear the plastic. Not sure if there is a professional method to make it easy. If anyone has any tips for doing this, I would also like to know.
Hey I have been searching all over on how to remove the plastic like panel on the rear of the trunk and have had no luck so far. Do you have any idea on how to do this? If so it would be a big help if you could get back to me.
I have not had to replace that before. I know there used to be a service manual online that might be helpful. I will post it here if I can find the link.
Is it this panel? From the pic (3rd down) looks to be from service manual. Also shows his removed and you can see the clips. Yarisworld may have other examples, I did a quick search and this one was the best I could find. www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59514&highlight=hatch+panel
I cannot find a video online on how to install the rear speakers in these cars.

Good video - a general overuse of the filler word “basically” is rather odd.
LOL, Thanks! I think..🤣 Now I have to go back and listen to see how many times I said "basically". Admittedly my videos could use improvement. I do notice I also say ummm a lot sometimes. Thanks for the feedback! I will be watching myself on the next one and will try to keep that word out.

The hatchback isn’t a door. It’s a hatch. He was specifying which model of Yaris it was.

on a side note: the hatch is a door. that's why the car is referred to as a 5-door--or a 3-door, whatever the case may be. and rules governing doors apply, eg in security inspections where one can decline to open a door, one can also decline to open the hatch.
That doesn't look like the hatchback door. It's says that 😢
