If this game had real fmv. The game would of been a almost perfect remake. The level design has changed because of VR. Or so I've read. Some of the changes are pretty neat. The water is very beautiful. Just wish they could of ported the fmv from the original and A.I. upscaled it somehow and make it look good.

This is just the demo, it's free on Steam. The full game releases on June 25th, and it will reportedly cost $35

Just over UKP 4K about 9 months ago, although some of the parts will have dropped in price a bit by now. Yes, it's overkill for gaming, but also makes short work of rendering 4K video quickly, so that's the other plus.
Nice recording. I can play this smooth without record software at Ultra. But as soon as I start filming, the quality turns to motion blur.
Are you using OBS? That should usually be fine without being demanding on CPU.
@DVDfeverGames I just tried it yesterday. So far I love the video Quality. But I have issues with audio on my Kracken mic headset. The sound is even more hollow than my ClipChamp recordings. Might just be the mic Quality but wonder if OBS has better filter settings to help that.
sadly looks super lifeless, no insects, no birds, no physical based objects to interact
it's only the temple island, what insects or interactable objects did you find on temple island in the original?
@@kalkstein2694 idk, i havent played the oiriginal.
@@DubElementMusic Well, it's pretty loyal to the original, and the worlds of Myst were never that lively. Part of the atmosphere of the games is the fact that you feel very alone in the ages you explore, there were only a couple of animals and people in the original Riven, and that is also true for practically any Myst game.
@@kalkstein2694 i know i played some titles on the PS1. i just dont like sterile games, it would be 10x more atmospheric with some dust particles, and 1-2 physic based things like cloaks in the wind or some rain. this would fit perfectly in this kind of games, no AI and small levels, a lot of compute resources left for some nice things. UE5 has this effect on standard, i have no idea why they dont use them.
@@DubElementMusic Because these effects aren't true to the world they are creating. The age of Riven doesn't have random dust particles or cloaks. It didn't when they created that world and adding them now would be unfaithful to their idea of the world. These are many moving parts in the game, the water is flowing, steam is oozing out of the maglev or the contraption near the Fissure. It would just be unfaithful to the solitary kind of world they created to add moving objects to it for the sake of there being something moving. I understand that you might not like that kind of a world, but that is what they created, and changing it now just because they can would make no sense, because that is not their vision.
