I have been experimenting with different oils in my Honda H'ness CB350 and this time replaced the oil with Motul 300V which is an Ester core Synthetic oil. In this video I have tried to explain the difference between regular synthetic engine oil Vs Ester Synthetic engine oil and the advantage the Ester synthetics have over chemically treated synthetic oil.
Like I always say, this content is priceless and is rarity among auto TH-camrs we have in India. Always waiting for such insightful videos from you sir.
Thanks a lot buddy ☺️
Raj ji .... Pl post a video on how to properly wash and care our motorcycle. It will be great.....As always great content
Very informative content. You are amongst very few of the TH-camrs who can lucidly explain the technical details. Love watching your channel's content 👍
Thanks a lot Mangesh 😊
I am Sanjay, a mechanical engineer , Age 51 . My first bike was RX 100 and Honda CB 350 is the 2nd bike in my life. I always maintained my bikes and cars at home. I liked this video a lotttt after watching several videos. I have already done the changes you advised in this video before watching this video and always change air filters after 2 months due to the dusty environment on the way I ride. Also felt like you are telling the same words what I felt regarding this bike 🙂👍🏽👍🏽....
Hey Sanjay, thanks for your compliment. We old school always think alike 😊.
Thanks for your reply dear, I am using liqui moly 10w40 (100 % synthetic) instead of motul 300v 10w40. .Which one is better according to you?
Though I am all time fan of Mobil 1 range..the reason I went for 300V is primarily the full Ester base synthetic. Esters has better solubility of the additives compared to Group 4 base oil making it use its full potential at all temperatures. You will notice the difference immediately. Shifting becomes smooth and engine is happy to revv.
Btw I too have used Steet Race in other bikes and found it to be impressive and planning to try in the CB during my next oil change.
@@RajkaGarage Thanks a lot for your reply, I was supposed to try mobil 1 fully synthetic but as it's price is quite low and reviews are not good , that's why hesitate to proceed for it. Next time I will use flush and use Mobil 1 and revert.... Just for your reference, when I was using Honda genuine 10w30 throttle with additives,it was oerforming well but engine was heating up quickly and mileage dropped down while running at 100 and above. Surprisingly after using 10w40 liqui moly, overall mileage, performance, smoothness, engine aound has been decreased and while running above 90 kmpl, there is no change in the mileage also
How is experience with Mobil 1 racing 10w40 fully synthetic oil...please share...
Very useful sir, 1st time im seeing ur video i subscribed instantly, bought Hiness 10 days back its a dam good bike fulling all my expectations n im sure ur info keeps me updated, Thanks Sir

Such an informative video. Explained perfectly, way to go Raj bhai.
Thanks a lot Pritesh ☺️
@16:18 Very very helpful tip. During my recent ride, my friend got hurt and trying to take out first aid kit, realised Seat screw 5mm key it at my home and not with bike.. Owners do take note of this before rides
Always good to carry one with even medicine of your own choice/compatibility. What the manufacturer generally gives is just a tick in the box to meet regulatory requirements. No quality.
@@RajkaGarage Okay, will have to learn on basic riders first aid to carry 🤝👍

Very helpful! Thanks Raj bhai.
Thanks Bhai 😊
I started using 300v right from 5000k 2nd service.. And now it's almost 5th service due @ 20k kms.. it's one of the best engine oil for hness. I used to change the air filter and oil filter during every service..
Did you find the difference in performance?
Is it 10W40?
Yes, Performance is good and you can experience the difference during long ride. I have used 10w40 300V
@@mudraa33 thanks brother 🙏
There is immediate change in how the bike performance, especially on highways, it never feels running out of power even in scorching heat during summers. Best oil i have used so far.
Overall this new lengthy video format is very good. Fan of your voice! Stacking up Engine oil boxes and your flow of explanation was very good!
Wish to try out Non OE Oils soon. Also I understand in Shell pumps, They will replace oil with no additional cost. Also, recent times I got to know some Engines have a Glass indicator in side to indicate Oil level, CB doesn't have it. Haven't tried removing Dip stick but Wouldn't it be easy have a quick peek if such indication is available?
Also glad to note Front Sintered Brakepads are performing great. Do Note that Non OE Breakpads, don't have curvature like OE ones, which seems to cause braking noise
Do consider covering Twin headed Spark plug if possible, and maybe larger tooth rear chain sprocket for higher topspeed😃😁🤝
Yeah, that stacking presentation came out well.
Yes Shell pumps do it for free using their products.
Regarding the glass indicator, it's a good thing but many a times you will feel and illusion about the oil level due to dust, grit accumulation on the screen. Plus although it's toughned glass its prone to breaking in case gets hits at that spot. Dip sticks are more reliable and accurate to the eye.
@@RajkaGarage Valid point🙌
Good content, Raj. Keep it up. You are doing great work to educate riders.
Thanks buddy 😊
Sir i will suggest add Abro Oil Treatment In Engine Oil When You Change Your Engine Oil This Will Make Engine More Smooth And Engine Oil Perform well
I have used it in the past, infact all of them in different machines (Abro, Liqui Moly, STP, 3M) infact the most expensive being the Liqui Moly MOS2 (250rs for 20ML), but find the Motul 300V making the engine run smoother than even with these additives.
Try that once.. You will notice the butter smooth performance immediately.

Motul 7100 or idemitsu irg7 which is better option?
Yesterday i Use Honda Throttle In My SP-125 And The Bike Feels More Smooth
Next time try Shell Advance or Motul 7100 series. These oils are much better than Idemitsu full synthetic.
@@RajkaGarage Brother Ho Sakta Hai Motul Ya Shell Better Hoga But BS6 Bikes Ki Engine ki Warranty Lapse Ho Jaygi Agar Engine Oil Showroom Mai Ni Change Karway ya Service Na Karway Isliye Mere Liye Honda Throttle Hi Best Hai Aakhir Honda Ka Fully Synthetic Engine Oil Hai Honda ne Soch k hi Banaya hogaa
Yes, agree on the warranty part.. but usually OE oils only suffice the required check list. Aftermarket oils make up with additional additives that exceeds manufacturers specifications.

Nice Video Raj, keep it up! Very informative and detailed!
Would the be a problems if I used Motul 300v 15w50 instead?
Thanks buddy 😊.
15W50 will will be a big deviation from manufacturer recommendation. One step up on the higher viscosity is OK. Honda recommends 5W30 and 10W30, so it's ok to go with 10W40. But anything above will deplete the mileage especially and put load on the seals.
Which Oil gave u the best result with ur experience till now... Even my hness is 2 years old.. I want to shift from Throttle oil to any other
I am using honda genuine oil 10w30 for my Honda unicorn from starting onwards when I purchased my bike , now I am facing some smoothness issue in my engine but mileage I am getting above 50 kmpl . If i swich on to 10w 40 fully synthetic will it reduce mileage or which is the best brand and grade should I use
Please reply 🙏
Use the Shell advanced ultra 10w 40 fully synthetic oil and experience the smoothness....ur engine will feel super refined alike new with this oil. Shell advanced ultra fully synthetic oil is best for the Honda engine.
Nice video, quick question- considering this oil is costlier than the Honda recommended ones, how frequently should one change after putting Motul 300V in the engine? My running is very less around 300-500kms per month so curious.
From where you got the spare parts? Honda Engine Oil, Oil and Air filter? Honda Bigwing service dont sale the service parts... they provide only when you give them the bike for service.
Yes buddy 99% of automobile manufacturers don't provide counter sales. This is where your experience and connects in the automotive industry comes into help 😅.
I can recommend an alternative for the oil filter though. CB share the oil filter with Honda Shine SP.
Excellent content, thanks for this. I have just taken over a pre-worshipped Highness in pristine condition which has completed 9.5K. Does 300v 10w 40 makes heating and engine noise?
Iam using motul 300 v 10w - 40 to my cb 350
I, myself changing the oil with the specific box spanner& Rachet , since the first service . Very good performance with minimum engine heating.
Only problem is the MR6K-9 spark plug recommended by the company.
For long distance journey or touring this plug is not competant . Can you suggest a better one ?
Go for the double electrode spark plug of Apache RTR. At 120Rs. Its a the best alternative for a great performance. Iridium will cost 600-700 rs.
Have made a video on this Spark plug too.
Did motul decrease the mileage of the bike?

Bro do this experiment after your paid service by honda ends than use engine oil according to you!!
Whether air filter is available from bigwig service centre, when i asked they told that it is not sold outside.
Yes buddy they will not generally sell it on the counter. But if you tell them you are going on a long ride and need to keep one spare in case you need it during the rise, they might end up giving.
I manage to get the parts due to my old contacts when I used to work with Honda.

Hey buddy.. possibility of power reduction due to oil is 0.01%. infact even with ordinary new oil it is a rare possibility whereas full synthetics are at a different level.
Just ride for sometime, you will start realising the smoothness.

Bro 2 litres is the capacity for cb 350 rs ? Or is it 2.5 Litres ?
How many kilometers ride between oil change motul 300v on cb 350...
You can do upto 6k kms. The change interval will remain the same for all full synthetic oils. It's the consistency of performance that makes the 300V stand out from other full synthetics I have used so far. Other oils tend to loose the smoothness after 3-3.5k kms. 300V is butter smooth even at 4500 i have done so far.
All oils...mineral...semi synthetic or fully synthetic loose viscosity after 3000kms gradually...according to most of the bikers and web datas...This is the truth....Accept it...

How much extra kms can be run with fully synthetic engine oil on Honda highness?
Now iam changing it as per the manual i.e for 6000kms
Is motul 7100 20w50 is better than 7100 10w40 for summer when temperature is more than 40 degree???
If specific to the CB engine, no it's NOT recommended as viscosity grades are also dependent on what kind of internal tolerances are are used while building the engine and what kind of heat the engine emits in its standard operating conditions.
Honda recommends 5W and 10W cold grade and 30 as hot grade. In this case going 1 step above the hot grade is still doeable for the engine at the cost of very minor drop in fuel efficiency. Any thicker viscosity grade will put the engine at further hydraulic pressure dropping the mileage and leaks from seals.
Thank you so much for your post

Informative video as usual! It seems you don’t really care about warranty! Now that my CB350 has completed 18 months and 10k on the clock, do I really need to bother about the warranty? I too want to DIY the oil change and basic services. I guess air filter and O ring are available in spare parts shops.
Thanks buddy.. yes I did only the 1st Free service in the ASC at 500 kms and since then have been doing DIY. But that's been pretty much my way of looking after all of my vehicles so far..over that it's a Honda and that gives me that extra bit of confidence of not coming across any situation of claiming warranty ( I have taken chances even with Royal Enfields for that matter 😁).
I understand it's pretty much an tempting feeling to DIY care of your own machines, but I would suggest let atleast the standard warranty period get over or atleast another 6 months coz recently saw some events with the fuel pump of a few CBs.

@@RajkaGarage thank you sir 🙏
Hey raj,
How many kilometers can i ride with motul 10w 40
The ideal change interval should be 5k to max 6k kms and that's pretty much same as other oils. The differential advantage a superior oil will have is, it will maintain its viscosity and other lube properties at the best levels even till the drain period unlike conventional oils. Even the Honda Throttle Full synthetic oil lost smoothens after some 2.5k of use.
hey raj, from where do you buy honda genuine parts like air filter and honda throttle 10w30 engine oil
Hey Nikhil, i manage to get it through my connects in Honda. They generally do not sell over the counter.
Dear Raj, I bought a CB350 few months back. As this is my first bike, that too being a long stroke bike, I have a pertinent query regarding the bike. Does this bike backfire or make a small popping noise while upshifting from 1st to 2nd and/or during throttling in 1st gear? The Service Centre technician told me that it was normal as some "return air fuel mixture thing" and I need not be worried. Should I not be worried? Otherwise, the bike runs smoothly though. Please advise.
Hi Alok, first of all congratulations 🎉.
The service center folks are partly correct. During the upshift or even decelerating in a low gear, the bike will make those popping noise. In the case of the CB it's just due to design of the muffler mechanism which makes these sweet sound. So nothing to worry about.
Enjoy the bike.
Cheers and Happy Riding 🤘

Hey buddy, Shell Advance Ultra is definitely better than Total, both in terms of quality and drain interval. But for the Yamaha i will recommend to go with Motul 7100. It's the best oil recommend for Yamaha R15 and given your running which is very less, you can change it every 5k Kms or once in a year whichever is earlier. Just do check the oil level regularly.
@@RajkaGarage what about 300v sir pls reply & do you think 7100 is better than shell ultra...
Yes, 7100 is better than Shell Ultra as it has Ester synthetics compared to regular PAO Synthetics.
Regarding 300V, its the ultimate oil one can have for their bikes engine if driving continuously at high loads. Just that your running is not that much and 7100 can suffice your type of running. So economically makes more viable thing to go for 7100 @ around 800/ltr compared to 1200/ltr of 300V.
But if cost is not a factor for you as it just once in a year affair, go for 300V, you will appreciate the butter smooth performance immediately.

Oh ask me the feel on the road.. the engine revv felt like there are no reciprocating parts in there 😅

Thankyou so much
Which air filter are you using
It's an OE filter.
@@RajkaGarage any after market suggestions?
No buddy, there are no matches for any other OE product. There are no aftermarket options yet, but even if they come, will highly recommend not using aftermarket options for air and oil filters. They tend to run the engine in choked manner.

One more doubt
If i put motul 300v and my bike dont complete 5000km then i can keep the oil for around 12 months.correct me if iam wrong.
Dont know how to thank you for all these helpful information you are sharing
Yes..with fully synthetic oils, you can easily do 5k kms or 12 months.
No Honda's fully synthetic oil i.e., Throttle 10W30 engine oil is manufactured by Tide water oil Co.(Veedol) not idemitsu.

I am using 10w-40 for almost 13 yrs for my unicorn. Now 5w or 10w-30 is not impressing me. Need ur suggestions
Hi Mukund, after the initial period of 1000-1500 kms, always go for full synthetic oil. Honda Throttle is the fully synthetic option available with the service center. And though it's 10W30 i would personally recommend using manufacturer recommended oils for reasons of warranty atleast till the time it's under coverage.
@@RajkaGarage thanks bhai.
Will I void my cb350 bike warranty if I put other brand oil in my bike ?
Ideally as long as you are using the recommended SAE grade and API specs, which in case of the CB is either 5W30 or 10W30 with API specs of SL and above , that mean SM or SN and conforming to JASO MA2. It should be fine. Manufacturer never makes it a compulsion to use only their brand oils, it's the service center folks who loose out on business and hence threaten customers about warranty.
Same my service provider said that ki It will void the warranty of engine parts if I use other brand engine oil 😐 btw thank you for the detailed response absolutely loved your videos and waiting for the brake maintenance video 🤗
Sir, I bought my Honda H'ness CB 350 in March 2022. The bike has just completed its about 680 kms. And the first servicing was done in less than 400kms
Last month in May I started to face some issues like the bike won't start, underperforming and heating issues. I visited the Honda service center in Jaipur
They said your bike's pump is gone that's why your bike is unable to start. They also shared that this is a common issue with CB 350 and they've changed 20+ pumps in the last 1 month.
I'm paying 700+ everyday to commute to my office Sir since 19th may, 2022. I've already paid and paying thousands of rupees just because of Honda's lag in providing service😭 pump will take 7 more days to reach Jaipur service center. And my bike is completely jammed now. Its not starting now
Sorry about this issue buddy.. this sounds little problematic in terms of the petrol available in your locality.. In Mumbai we have had this issue but not more than 4-5 bikes so far in last 1.5 years since CB has been launched. I am saying this as I have direct visibility with all 4 Bigwing service centers through my connects.
To avoid this, always fill petrol from a good pump.
Avoid filling from different pumps and stick to only one good pump.
Never ride in low fuel. Always maintain minimum 5 litre of fuel in the tank.
@@RajkaGarage yes sir, I'll remember that. I never new honda bikes are this delicate. Very sad. Because petrol is a concern and finding good quality petrol is an issue that's going to rise day by day. We Indians are experts in adulteration.

This issue is not limited to Honda only.. these things are applicable to all vehicles 2 and 4 wheelers both. Comparatively, 2 wheeler fuel pump motors are little delicate compared to 4 wheelers due to the size of the motor and the fuel filter size restrictions.
To top it up, these days petrol come with 10% ethanol which is not good for the fuel tank and fuel pump as ethanol turns into water..
With the BS6 Norms etc. these things are just start of not so good days for automobiles and vehicles will need hyper care.
Hope this helps.
@@RajkaGarage yes but, BS6 is made to work with higher ethanol content na ? And as per the latest news that I read, govt is forcing to blend more and more ethanol.
There are no major fundamental changes to how the engine works as of today for E10 (that will be applicable when Flex fuel engine comes in) and hence the current engines with E10 runs with underrated power.
Major issues of E10 will be seen on the fuel system. Fuel tanka which used to last for 15+ years in old days will not last for more than 6-7 years with more and more Ethanol blending. In old days, some manufacturers used to have a red oxide inner coat in fuel tanks, these coats too are not able to sustain the affects of the recent fuel. I recently had to discard tank of a RE STD which was not used for over 6 months, as the fuel tank got completely corroded from inside due to the E10 petrol. Such things never used to happen in the past.
@15:30 Most people use washable cloth mask 😁😂
Like I did all covid era.. I was a Covidiot and a Covirgin 😂
Where can i get drain bolt and oil filter?
They are not available on earth, only available on Mars.. Contact NASA as soon as possible
Hello, have anyone experienced wobbling issues in hness and rs post 80 kmph?
Many in my state reported this after 10k etc odo reading.
Yes buddy, it's there in many bikes. It is there in my CB too. Though I had tightened the steering stem nut and it worked good for sometime, recently I felt that wobble again..will need to see what exactly the root cause is.
@@RajkaGarage ok thanks for the response sir, 👍😊
It seems this issue is rampant... A cb350 owner in my state has started a petition (google form ) on this issue and bringing this into the manufacturer's attention.
Sir can you please tell me, among these engine oils, which oil perform best in your cb 350? It would be a great help.
A small review will come soon.. waiting to churn some more KMS. As for the first few hundred KMS the performance is always good with any oil. Stay tuned.
Okk
Sir, do you like to share your openion about liqui moly street 10w30 semi synthetic or 10 w 40 street race and shell helix 10w40 full synthetic, which one will be a best choice for cb 350 rs. Currently i am using 10w30 street of liqui moly on my rs.
Out of all the oils, as per my experience Motul 300V is the pinnacle of lubricants. Engine behaviour changes immediately on 300V.
Thnx a lot sir for this information & for all the efforts, that you did to make these kind of genuinely helpful videos on youtube..
Motul 300v is available in 5w30
Yes bhai..but very difficult to procure. The Motul distributor in my area had to recheck his catalogue when I asked him to get me 5W30. Even the retailers only keep 1 qty of any grade just for display purpose of the 300V due to very niche demand.
@@RajkaGarage hahaha correct, the other day I was in the market hunting for 300v, the dealer said, bhaiya 300 nahi 3000 hai... 🤦
So I ordered it online from HTRZ mods.
After how many kilometers we need to replace the oil - I am going for my 4th Service (paid one) and will use this oil and what should be the next oil change interval. I have done around 7800 Kilometers to date
Ideal Service interval with Oil, Oil Filter, Air filter replacement should be done every 6 months or 5K kms whichever is earlier. In your case, it seems the running is not much..so no need for an oil replacement at 6 months if you are not done 5000kms. With the 300V or other good fully synthetic oils you can keep the oil change interval even at once in 12 months. Just check the oil level at 6 months and replace the air filter.
@@RajkaGarage Thank You
Engine ki taraf se duwa, lol, mast sir made me laugh
😅
Why u didn't used Motul 300V 5W30 4T instead?
No Stock availability for 5W30. Tried a lot and then went for 10W40.
You should've gone for Amsoil instead of Motul.
The main intent was to switch to Ester synthetics which is available in Motul 300V. Otherwise, my Synthetic choice is Mobil 1 or Shell.
@@RajkaGarage Amsoil also makes 100% Ester oils / 100% Synthetic oils, unlike Mobil or Shell.
Which series of Amsoil is ester synthetic buddy.. let me know will try next time. Hope it's also full ester and not ester blend and meets API spec of SJ and above.
@@RajkaGarage Please check the product details of Amsoil. But the thing is you know everything other than anyone else in the world. So, the best i can do is to do nothing for you. Thanks bud !! 👍🏻
Seems like you had an intention or a predetermined mindset about me😅. I am just asking a plain simple input to understand which series of Amsoil is Ester synthetic so that i can try that aswell and test the difference. I have never tried Amsoil due to my years of affinity towards brands like Mobil and Shell which I have used and found satisfactory for almost 2 decades.
If you would have gone through my video with a positive mindset you would have heard me saying that these brands are something I have used and I am switching to Motul 300V only coz its core Ester and not blend like other full synthetics. Even the 7100 series from Motul is Ester blend with POA.
So if you think there is any Amsoil with base Ester, let me know the product name i can try that aswell as i keep on experimenting with engine oils. But instead of letting me know the product details you are asking me to go about looking at thier product catalogue or maybe you yourself are not sure. Wouldn't it be easy to just call out the product name like 300V.
And yes, coming to your final statement which is not in a very good taste from your end, let me tell you that I may not know everything about Automobiles as it's a big world with a lot of things still unexplored, but yes one thing I can definitely tell you, making hands greasy was my bread and butter until 10 years back and at the age of 46 I am not making all these vlogs just searching stuff on Google. There are years of hands on experience working passionately in the Automobile service industry with likes of manufactures like Honda, Escorts Yamaha, Maruti Suzuki & two own ventures before shutting shop due to certain circumstances and only came on TH-cam 3-4 years ago. SO please DON'T think all the TH-camrs out there are same with little or no hands on experience just holding the best of cameras and blabaring bookish content.
I generally reply to 90% of the comments on my channel, but never have used this tone to reply anyone ever. Maybe the saying gets true here..what comes around..goes around...
Thank you!
