You mean Honda Throttle synthetic engine oil is best for CB 350 over Motul Liqui Moly Amsol Pennzoil etc. Throttle engine oils tend to make Cb350 engine soundy after 20 minutes of driving . Hea t was because you were driving cb 350 beyond it's threshold like sports bike because that's what Motul 300 v will make rider do it . I tried Liquid moly 10 w40 and it's best oil for ch 350 . Engine runs as smooth as it runs during morning first ride for hours whatever may be climate . Motul 300 v requires 1000 km gel in period when put first time. Only thing that is it's very expensive . I will be going with only motul 10 w 30 once warranty period is over. Honda engines don't fail with engine oil

Motul 300V grade is slightly different: it is 10W40. The appropriate engine oil grade for Highness is 10W30 and that's what Honda uses.
Maybe that's why you have got little heating issues in your bike's engine.
In case anyone is interested in upgrading engine oil, then Motul 7100 10W30 should not create any heating issues. As the engine oil grade is appropriate.

I am planing to switch to 140 70 17 tyre from 150 70 17 (rear) on my CB 350 RS what’s your opinion, I feel it will make overall gearing bit better and due to less rolling resistance bit more performance too? Pls share your opinion bro.

Honda has the best engineering and lots of thinking goes into determining the most compatible tyre size. Hence please stick to stock size.

One thing that I noticed is that motul 300v is 4T 10w-40, our stock engine oil is sae 10w-30 and they are not the same in term of density at different temperature range(10w-40 is good over 10w-30). So, they may not function same but if we use motul 3000 series sae 10w-30 or 40 it can work as expected. I'm marking this sae and 4t variance .Would be thankful if you express your opinion and advice on this.

As far as I know Motul 3000 series is semi synthetic oil. Something which I would not advise, specially if you are already using Honda full synthetic oil. If you are concerned about the viscosity, there is one 0W30 oil available from Motul 300 V. However this one is very rarely available.

Hi Dipayan, I'm a CBR250R owner since 11 years. I just wanted to know what made you go back from 300v to Stock Honda throttle on CBR ? You said there was no heating issue due to liquid cooling so what was the problem ? I was planning to put 300v soon but when you said you used it in your CBR and came back to stock, wanted to know your thoughts and reasons for not continuing it in the CBR.

    • @DipayanBose
      @DipayanBose  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes I did switch back to stock in CBR as well. The extra heat will definitely be more managed in CBR due to liquid cooling, but when it is caused by the engine oil, then one should not use it. The source of the extra heat is because of thicker oil. Not about 300 V but oil being thicker takes longer time to circulate and lubricate. This is bad.
So if you could source the same grade oil as recommended by Honda that is 10w 30, then you could use any brand oil. This is completely my experience and feeling. A lot of users of CBR and many other bikes have been using different grades with no issues. I am very skeptical about things related to engine and its well being, so did not research much and switch back to stock.

@@DipayanBose thanks for the response. I guess I will continue with Honda Throttle 10w30 itself. That's the oil which is put in all mid to premium Honda bikes from CBR150/250 to Hness to even the CBR1000RR. I guess 10w30 is all that Honda engines are designed for. Better stick to it.

Thanks for the update. This is a great piece of information. So, again it's proved that Honda bikes and Motul oils never go well together (general reason said in many forums that it was due to the ester core in Motul oils). But, in case of CB350, it's a new reason. Still, it's an eye opener for many including me. In my case, I wanted to see if some oil change could further smoothen out the engine and my first choice was Motul 300V 5W30. Now, in this scenario, I think i will try Liquimoly MoS2 oil additive if it shows any marked improvement.

The oil is basically a very good one. However how it syncs with different motorcycles is something to look out for. As for my case it did not go well with CB 350. So you need to check for your bike.

  • @jothyisshyam8327

I have used bikes like Apache rtr 180 , FZ 250 , RE etc
For all these bikes I uesd ( after the first service ) fully synthetic oils only almost 10 years. I tried Castrol , Shell & Motul oils.
Actually , fully synthetic oils are natural oils with additives added & processed for better smooth performance , prevent overheating , wear & tear etc
Now Iam using in my cb 350 10w - 40 Motul 300 v oil for more than 6 months for short rides & long trips . But I usually drain the oil @ 2000kms. Not wait for recommended 3000 to 4000 drain period claimed by the oil company. Because I don't believe that fully synthetic oils are extraordinary oils perform till 3000 to 4000 kms.....( due to changes in oil viscosity. )
Another important factor , heat viscosity number for recommended Honda oil is either 5w -30 or 10w - 30.
But for Motul 300v...HEAT VISCOSITY NUMBER is 40
So naturally Motul oil cover the engine heating problem better than the stock oil .
    ( & a racing oli too. ).....
So I don't think no need to revert to Honda stock oil 🙏

  • @mrmohitmathur1

In my older bikes (Yamaha and Hero Honda) which I owned, I had tried Motul once and Shell multiple times, the engine always over heats. I feel the stock engine oil may not give you the performance like Shell or Motul, comparatively Shell is way better, but the engine heat bothers a lot. Hence I will never switch away from the Stock Oil for my H;ness due to my past experience. Better to change the stock engine oil frequently rather than using the other brands.

      @DipayanBose  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Firstly I am very sorry Bro. I would not recommend it anymore after using it.
Secondly a good amount of users are already using it and very happy with it.
So basically it is still a very confusing thing. If you have already started using it, use it for for few hundred kilometres and check whether performance is better or not. I personally don’t think performance will decrease. And since we are into winter already, so engine will not overheat. But it could heat up more than usual as in my case. Use up the oil say for 2 to 3 k kilometres and change it to a different one if you are not satisfied.

    Hello Dipayan
Getting lot of vibrations on foot pegs after 2nd service
They had tightened the chain but again visited them and loosened it but still getting vibrations
    What should i do
Is it a possibility that the foot peg rubber must have got a bit thinner than before which gives me foot tingling and vibration sensations
    Please help

    • @DipayanBose

There is a long list of things which you could check. However chain is the most probable one. Have it cleaned again, check for the tightest position and adjust it properly, then lube it. Keep it for 10 mins, ride it to check. It should resolve. Have it done from a good mechanic.

The correct answer = not always..
If a rider goes into a truck filled with killer metal rods..
Or if a motorcycle jumps off a cliff into the sea...
Then gloves will find it challenging to save life.
      However if the,
speed + situation + location is right then gloves will either protect the hand or atleast lessen the damage.
Some ppl have mentioned that they don't leave home without helmet and gloves.
And there are other protective add-ons
      Jacket level 2
      Pants level 2
