It's a big improvement over the first generation in terms of looks, if I were gonna drop this kind of money on a motorcycle this would definitely be up there, but that won't ever happen unless I win the lottery.
I bought one a few weeks ago and I can quite honestly say it's excellent all round. It's one of the most addictive bikes I've ever owned. The torque is superb and it's fast, stable, quirky and lots of fun. I do a fair bit of city riding too and it's fine for filtering. The only thing I would say is first gear is quite jerky and it's hard to be in second and stick to city speed limits, even closely! I think that it's expensive but everything feels top quality.
Great video guys ! I'm really enjoying this new team dynamic ! 😊 But yeah, for $30k that's wayyyyy too expensive for a lot of people. Especially when there are many other great bikes for much less money.
The hill start is superb. You need to know how to use it. You can have it on auto or manual. If you live in very hilly territory, then set it to auto. Disengagement is similar, manual or automatic too. If you Read the manual, it tells you it disengages around 1500rpm. To disengage manually, push down firmly on the rear brake or squeeze the front lever. This will also apply it manually. Its very useful when fully laden, perhaps with a pillion, facing up or down slopes. It's also very useful when you stop and don't get off, but want to fiddle with your helmet, gloves etc, it'll keep the bike still.
Great review. It is a pretty bike. It looks like the bike every Hipster was trying to create back in the 2010's (sadly, the majority just butchered alot of old BMW's). Shame the 719 option was not available in other coulours. I think I would just go with the R12. Good to see BMW are consistent with the quick shifter on their boxer engines.
I got so sick, after a short while, of the look of the Boxer engine on my R9T, as well as being the most uncomfortable motorcycle ever for me. I sold it I short order.
That’s a shame, but I know you are not alone in not liking the look of the boxer. For me though I think it’s great. What made it uncomfortable for you?
@@BikerTorque I'm 5'7". The 9T dumped me forward onto the bars causing wrist, and elbow pain like no other. I installed new handlebars, and footpegs but not much better. Good luck to you.

I actually quite liked the first generation of R NineTs, but agree, it’s a lot of money

Agree by the way that the clutch is quite stiff!
I think thats the key to justifying the price, it all looks and feels like a quality machine, every component.
First here. Really great informative review. Agreed bike looks fantastic retro style.
Thanks for watching
Great review you 3! 👌
Price (these days) is a BIG factor when choosing a bike.....although the heart always pays more. 🍻
Thanks Jamie. The heart always wins in the end.
998 S4R in titanium in red frame. Ducati had this combo in 2008. My favourite bike with absolutely no ride aids.
They certainly did
Thanks‼︎ Great video❗️
I got the same model. This is a very wonderful BIKE❤
Glad you like it! Agree great bike
Great Video, it felt faster because the R12 nine t has 109 h.p where as the r12 has 95h.p
Good point!
@@Paul-kp1tu yes because of emissions laws they have had to reduce them on the new models

Hey Felipe, glad you like it mate. I saw you changed bikes, how’s the HD going?
@@BikerTorque Hey mate ! I'm loving the Harley life so far ! Hahaha planning to bring it over to the next event later this month !

I love the Hillstart control on my R18, not sure it’s necessary on the R12 NineT though, but really no issue for me
I use it often for steep indoor parking lots. I have it on manual and it works a dream. As does the cruise control.
Beautiful bike.
It sure is!

Spot on Matty
It's gorgeous. Want one. But I would be scared to park it anywhere I couldn't see it. A bit out of my price range anyway. 👍
Certainly is a gorgeous bike, thanks for watching
Tegan is the coolest 😎
Yeah, she’s cool, but definitely not the coolest.
30k and that quick shifter softens up 😂
Lol

I don't like the clutch on my R nineT and the dealer told me that it was Not adjustable.
The clutch is certainly heavy
BMW being cheapskates and not even retaining the Akrapovic exhausts as stock is a dick move.
Stock exhaust sounds good though
how many question marks do you need in one review?
I have no idea what that means, but thanks for watching.
