Great result. Really enjoyed the series and been very helpful for my own lawn renovation. I also have a hayter 36. How did you adjust the height of cut over those few weeks, and often were you able to cut the lawn initially?
I just took it down every 4 days or so. As long as you don't take too much off at once, it'll be fine. I was cutting it every 3-5 days, just weather dependent
What setting did you have on the Hayter? I used 4 bars when cutting it befor overseeding which seemed to measure about 25mm :/. Is the 5th setting 5 bars?
I'm not finding it super clear and was hoping you could help. So you did your first cut where you just took a cm or two off the 6/7cm grass. When and how often did you then do the next cuts? And to what length?
I give it the first cut when it gets to around 7cm. Only take of 1 or 2cm. Then I just cut it whenever it needs a cut. Sometimes it's 4 days later, other times it's two - it just entirely depends on how fast it's growing. It will be growing slower now with the temperatures dropping recently. I try to bring it down to around 2cm over the space of 2/3 weeks. Bring it down a cm or two every week.
We have had some crazy hot weather and a thunder storm. I’ve had a load of grass sprout on my new lawn and it’s quite long but it’s not very thick. How thick should it be before cutting?
I love how you’ve shown us how the grass looks like throughout its growing process.
Great video.. Please, what grass seeds is used to achieve this good looking grass?
When you going to clear up that paint off the back brick wall? Rest of the garden looks amazing.
Looking great . I would try some diluted vinegar on that efflorescence
I'll try that! It's a never ending battle with that wall!
Great job, for sharpening just get yourself a metal file and run it over the blade edges following the original slope 👍🏻
Now this is a sharpening tip I'm taking! Less likely to lose a finger this way!

I put it on four bars for a while, but brought it down eventually to 2 bars.

Just as long as it's around 2/3 inches, you're good to give it its first cut.
Also when is the time to apply autumn/winter fertilizer and which o e is the best one to apply?
I'm going to be putting it down on my lawn tomorrow. Filming an autumn lawn care video tomorrow afternoon - hoping to have it out next Sunday!
