The timing of this video couldn’t be more perfect. I’m been sitting here the last hour wondering if I should mow tomorrow (I did my first mow on Friday) and want to get back on a 3x/week cycle. Like you said, I’ve just been too scared to hurt the grass.
"She's a looking good" Maybe the understatement of the year 😀 Your lawn is gorgeous. I'm currently on day 8 of my front yard renovation... hoping it turns out like yours 😇
🙏 I’m afraid it’s gonna get it though! Got 5” of rain coming from another tropical storm over the period of about 6 days. I treated it Saturday in preparation but that’s a lot to ask for with it going to be extremely humid and rainy for several days!
Lawn is looking incredible Brad! I have a few spots like yours that for whatever reason is slow taking off, but its starting to fill now. One or two more days left of this heatwave and temps are in the mid 70's to low 80's for highs. Can't wait
🙏 im telling you i have never been happier with the color this early on! The density is unreal also! I spent hours selecting what I thought were the best varieties based on 2023 NTEP data.
that overseed looks so good. i have question about first few times for mowing. would you recommend to bag it from the first to maybe 4th mow? and would you recommend frequent mowing (i can do 2 times a week) for lateral spread or should i wait when the newly grass is 1 month old?
Not necessarily for 4 mows you can but normally after 2 mows the mess from the grass building so much moisture ends. I would definitely bag it first few times if that’s possible!
I can’t unfortunately I buy them local but they are called curlex blankets. Lowe’s sells a small version I think they are about $30 and are 4x50’ www.lowes.com/pd/Greenscapes-50-ft-x-4-ft-Wood-Fiber-Seed-Blanket/3024494
Thank you. I over seeded a week aga and had to apply heritage g . Do you think I should apply it again at the 15day mark with all the watering I do. Please advise.
Typically when you get down low 70s and 60s for highs disease pressure is pretty low. The big thing is night temps along with the dew. If you’re in the 50s at night pressure should be fairly low but it can still happen.
@rashadlogan77 normally dimension but I’m not sure it’s gonna happen this fall just been a rough fall with 8” of rain from hurricane get a little gray leaf spot in a few spots and now lawn might get tore up good because power company will have e to run a new power line where mine melted in the storm from tree rubbing it.
If u seed and then mow, u said to wait a few days of not watering before u mow. So u can stop watering for 2 days and the seed won’t die by being dried out?
The seed needs to be germinated before you mow with the amount of water you will be applying to get germination and then continuing to water there’s going to be sufficient moisture in the soil by the time it gets tall enough to mow. Then it will have a decent root system and not need to be watered everyday. You don’t want it to dry but you don’t want the soil to be muddy either.
@@Primetime_Fescue that's what I plan on doing when my baby grass gets to 2.5" still got a couple more days to go but it's looking very promising. Your TTTF is looking phenomenal. Thank you.
It’s been a horrible hot summer here in middle Tennessee, we’ve had no rain in over two months and my nice yard turned completely brown and crispy. Just couldn’t keep up with water 💦
Looks GREAT 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

@@Primetime_Fescue thank you for responding. I'll keep that in mind and bag those first few mows. 🙏
Can you provide a link to the mats that you use for those bad spots?

If you have warm and mild conditions and it’s staying wet I would be applying it

Looking good!! Are you going to put down any pre emergent?
Yes hoping to about mid October maybe a little sooner gonna definitely be late this year with the temps but anything is better than nothing!
Ok. I think I will do it as well around the end of Oct. I had to reseed a few spots due to wash outs.
@tonypollard9323 just make sure you have it mowed 2 to 3 times good!!
Which pre-emergent you going down with?@Primetime_Fescue

WOW.
What brand of seed?
No brand I mix my own varieties together but I may have my own blend available next year.
I'm getting there, lol.
Thank you

It won’t die unless it’s scorching hot.

How tall are you moving it now?
3”

@brandtstone7744 I had the same issues here in nc mainly around edges of rock beds just couldn’t keep enough water on it!
How did you prep the soil? Did you till the ground before seeding?
@380stroker go back about 3 videos I used a ventrac and areavator this was just a overseed of a existing lawn
