Freshers week definitely isn't all about clubbing! Lots of societies make a huge effort to organise inclusive events. There are lots of opportunities to meet people especially in your department. This is St Pancras Way, a Unite accommodation run by UCL. Garden Halls is really nice, I have a few friends there. Its pretty close to uni too!

I just received an offer for this September. What do you think about the mathematical content of the course? Is it enough for postgraduate study or technical roles? Do you have a lot of choice on courses? What are the future job prospects on the city and on roles like product management? Are those inexistent? I just realized the amount of questions. Hi, I was wondering whether you took further maths at A-level? If I haven’t done further maths at A-level am I at that much of a disadvantage? Also do you have any advice for applying to UCL for economics, specifically with my personal statement; what books they like to see you have read and what kind of activities they might like?

1 Are you studying eco (hons) or economics with some other subject combo . And 2 Are you staying in uni accommodation( on campus) or in apartment alone
I took FM for a few weeks and decided to drop it. It's not necessary and in some cases, counterproductive. Lots of the maths we do here is brand new, so everyone is on an even playing field.
@@emree5962 people need to stop perpetuating this idea of how undergraduate economics is really hard in terms of math cuz it just isn't. If you want something more mathematical go do MORSE or just math lmao

Hope not lmao Tbf might be true at graduate level and for the more theoretical side of economics, like theoretical game theory or general equilibrium models, but that's not what I'm talking about here, which is studying it as an undergrad. And most of the stuff you see is really just differentiation with simple algeb doesn't even matter what uni you're at because if you took a look at the textbooks , guess what genius, that's what's in them It's also absolutely hilarious how you're trying to suggest how the course at UCL is that much more mathematical because it requires an A* instead of an A, now go back to your A levels lol

the maths will be plenty ahaha youll find it hopefully challenging! we get a lot choices in 2nd and 3rd year. 1st year we have 2 optional modules

I didnt do further maths and it wasnt a disadvantage when applying. Read books you are interested in talking about!

its a great course, at a great city. The course is pretty updated and technical. I am sure you wont regret it!
