Even I know you need your shoes on when finding the pants length, I forgot when I took my measurement, so thanks for the reminder/tip, always worth saying.
Wonderful video Joy, always useful tips about things I forget to do when fitting pants. lol Your pants always look so nice with the ironed in crease. The ironed in crease gives the illusion of height to the body and any time you can visually add height you look slimmer. I am one of those who need a little of both height and slimmer appearance.
I sewed my muslin pants. Wow. I missed the sit test. Oops. I need that extra inch. I have a couple adjustments to make. I wasn't sure about the process and it all worked out. I have Philly's body shape but at 5' 5". So I am doing elastic all the way arounds. I have tried on pants with darts before an it is pretty. Lol I have ordered the tool from SFD. It was a challenge making the 5/8" allowance. It will be easier with the tool. Thank you so much, I am learning a lot. God bless you.
Hi Joy, Excellent video. I do have a request though. Can you show us how you iron your pants. Do a demo? Your pants look so crisp as if you got them from the dry cleaners. I loved all your tips. I learned a lot of new things especially about the crotch length and bending over. I bought some fabric from fabric mart to make the pants. Just have to dig up the sure fit design pants to make the pattern. I made one before but couldn’t get it to fit. Would like to try again.

I don't like my pants very wide at the bottom. They have to be wide enough to get your foot into, but maybe not your shoe. Styles change all the time. I think wider pants are the style now.

If not I wonder how long it will take to get it? This is perfect design for my mom. Wanna make her couple pair before do my own.
Joy must bn listening with only one ear! Got the # now. My fabric ready. Gonna measure my mom today. I missed where you separate crouch into front and back. Was it in a different video? Also how do you know if you have a high hip?
Joy, When measuring my crotch length, if the measuring tape pulls down from my waist an inch or two in the back when I sit how do I adjust the pattern?
I had a good laugh on the waist at your belly button, thanks to surgery(breast reconstruction) my NEW belly button is now higher than my waistline! Ha! That could be disastrous, too funny! I’m going to JoAnns to find me some stretch twill to test out my pattern. Thank you!

Rolling the elastic before sticking the pin in and putting tape over the pin is such a great idea! I've had more than one open up in a casing lol.

I used a magnet wand on the safety pin to pull elastic threw the waist band.
BRILLIANT!
Baby diaper pins work great to pull elastic and to mark a particular corner of a quilt.

I use lots of different pants patterns. You may really love the SFD pants though as they are drawn by you to fit you.
