    Three years ago, I purchased a 52 cc Chinese saw with a 20 inch bar on it for $106 delivered to my door from Amazon. I have cut down a lot of trees with that saw, and bucked several cords of wood with it. I had to replace the pull start mechanism within the first six months, because the four screws vibrated out. That replacement pull start assembly cost $12. I used blue loctite to keep the four new screws in place. Two and a half years later and several cut up trees, that pull start assembly is still secure.
    My son purchased two of the 52 cc Chinese saws to process firewood. He has cut down multiple trees and bucked multiple cords of firewood with his two saws. The cheap saws have worked fine for us.
    I would purchase several of the Chinese cheap saws, before I would spend a thousand dollars on a name brand chainsaw. I could have several of the cheap saws in my truck out in the woods cutting trees and bucking firewood, instead of depending on one expensive saw not to fail.
    If a person can’t keep a cheap Chinese saw running, they sure as heck can’t keep a Stihl chainsaw running. All chainsaws require maintenance. Professional tree cutters can justify spending thousands of dollars on chainsaws, the rest of can’t, and shouldn’t.

    The heated option is more valuable than just the handle.
    They have a small heater on carb intake to limit cold weather running problems, as the saw heats up.

    Thanks Brock..
    If you can freely turn the Drive clutch by hand and the Chain continues to run at idle that is an indication that the idle is to high or the Springs are too weak.

    I have the neotec 372xp clone and ive been super impressed with it. As long as you know how to work on one and tune it they are great , i could literally buy 6 372xp clones that i can swap out on a job or i could buy one 572xp and pray it stays running! If budget is no priority obviously get stihl/husky , i feel like the bang for buck on these Chinese saws is just hard to beat. One thing i like about the clones is you can just use them as a upgrade platform and guys that cant afford a new name brand saw can get a clone and slowly swap parts for oem until it is completely rebuilt! Great video.

    Howdy Brock! I swear... I was just wondering about this saw the other day and was curious about how it held up. Good honest assessment and it sounds to be pretty accurate. Like we were just talking about with the Snap-On tools... for a weekender like myself this saw as a second saw would work just fine. Only thing that would give me pause is it is from China. Chinese companies have a long history of cloning equipment (read: stealing) with no regard for copyrights. We gotta stop rewarding that practice... but I digress... Don't need a saw of this size yet so I have some time to save up 😁 Well done and thanks for the update 🤠

    I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but that saw has an outboard clutch and Stihls have inboard clutches. If it's still turning at idle and it's not idling faster, it's probably the clutch springs are weak.

    I have a stihl 270 and a couple of years ago bought a TroyBuilt as a back up for $70. I do about the same volume in wood as you do. I personally have had less problems with my cheap Troybuilt. For me of i had to do it all over again I don't think I would spend the extra cash on the Stihl. Now if I cut wood for a living that would be a different story.

    I'd agree comply on your call for the clone saw. The problem with that only occasional use is will it start after say 6 months of sitting. The desire to have a bigger saw is always an issue for me anyway. I have a couple of bigger saws with in my opinion for NE Kansas long bars that only get run when needed. I do try to use them a couple of times just to change the fuel etc. I went with a quality manufacture in the used market to acquire them so that I could feel better about the replacement part as needed to fix or tune them.

    Use brake cleaner on the clutch, same as brakes on a vehicle. The hard starting issue is more than likely it is flooding out, mine broke in at about five tanks of fuel and required a serious adjustment of the carburetor. The carburetor was also loose when it arrived and needed to be tightened.
    The clutch spring may be faulty as well on yours but I haven't seen any clutch spring issues on saws unless they were overheated by sludge build up.

    I have the joncutter version of this clone. I bought it in 2019, the only issue I had with it was I bent the top handle yanking on it when I got pinched in a cut.
    IMO the joncutter is the best version of these 50-60cc clones. I’ve had a couple different ones including the proyama and they aren’t as good as the joncutter.

    I collect saws. I have probably 50. If someone can't sfford Stihl or Husqvarna pro saws, get an Echo. I've got Stihl farm saws and homeowner grade saws, and Husky homeowner type saws, and for the money you can get a pro Echo. Magnesium case, adjustable oiler, and no clamshell. 590 Timberwolfs see great but for a little more you can get a CS620 and its a lot more saw.

    Good morning Brock. You've already heard my opinion of the Stihl MS 250 saw. It has soured me on Stihl for the rest of my life. Recently I've had a couple of other options offered to me to try out. One of them is an Echo and I think that the other is a Jonsered. I haven't had a chance to use either one yet but when I do I'll probably let you know how it works out. About 50 years ago I had a Craftsman chainsaw with a built in sharpener and I wish that I still had it. I loved that saw. Several years later we moved to an area of the country where I didn't use it for several years and I sold it to someone that I worked with. Big mistake. Anyway, God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂 🙂

    If your clutch is "sticking" it just needs cleaned, and the pilot bearing greased. On a saw with an outboard clutch you have to remove it to get the drum and bearing out. (some saws have a hidden grease port in the end of the crankshaft and you can just give it a squirt with your bar sprocket luber) Lube shouldn't be anywhere else, it just attracts dirt and makes the weights hang up. Watch blowing solvents in there because you'll kill the grease on the bearing, same with spray lubes. You're better off knocking the clutch off and cleaning/greasing it properly.
    Zenoah chainsaws are made in Japan under the Komatsu umbrella. They're as good as Echo and pretty popular on the west side of the Pacific. They don't get imported much to America except as rebranded clones from MTD. I currently have three of them in the shop, a Craftsman 46cc, a TroyBilt 42cc and a Ryobi 37cc. The problem lies in getting parts because the OEM isn't ensconced here like Stihl, Husky or even Echo. Otherwise they'd be like a Holtzfforma saw where if you didn't feel like waiting 3-5 weeks for parts from FarmerTec you can go to the OEM dealer or some other aftermarket.
    Best wisdom I can offer in considering a cheap alternative saw is to get an accurate clone of one you have or want. Worst case is you have a parts saw to keep the good one going until the right parts come in. Best case, you've got something that teaches you how to keep the good saw running well. First saw should always be something OEM, reliable so you're not being frustrated by junk and with a realistic bar size, not with a big chungus compensating for something. You can cut a lot of wood with a 14" bar, but a little saw, tip heavy with a long bar, will struggle with chain speed. Any teeth not in the cut are just wasting power.

    • @matthewbeaver5026
      @matthewbeaver5026 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I agree with this philosophy
      The worst part about long bars is ppl aren't smart enough to run skip when the powerheads not big enough to push said length of chain.

    I cut almost every day of the week. Will stay with my echo. It will pay for itself the first day and just keep running for years. Just change cluck sprocket about every month. Styl is over priced for what it is. Can almost get 2 echo 720s for 1800 and have same reliably

    For most things, I am a buy once, cry once type of person. So I buy the best tools I can afford. As most honest firewood people will tell you, the best chainsaw is the one that runs good and has a sharp chain. The brand doesn't matter. The local dealer and service shop is more important. Whether that be Sthil, Husqvarna or Echo. Pick one of those 3 and you can't go wrong. Stay way from any chainsaw you can buy at a local big box store.

  • @Unknown-pc9yq
    @Unknown-pc9yq 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    Chainsaws are a buy once cry once purchase. For a firewood cutter, DIYer, land owner or person who will use it a few times a year or needs something a stihl 261 is the way to go. With a 20" bar it rips through large enough trees but isn't as heavy like a stihl 360-460 type saw. The difference in pro grade VS consumer grade is a lot of nice things like bar nuts that don't fall off, same with the air filter housing. They have built in anti vibration tech that's significantly better than a cheap saw. Stihl has a much easier chain install than husky. Overall in my option stihl is the best saw you can buy today. I own commercial saws from all of the major brands. Stihl wins across the board. If you can't afford a new one, check market place. It will take work, but deals are out there. I grabbed a husky 550xp mark ii (pro saw $799 new) for under $200. Guy didn't know what he had. Grabbed a stihl 462 from an older man who had one big tree that he needed to cut up, used it for that, saved himself $1000s. Knew he didn't want to run that big saw and sold it for half price of new. It was almost new. Good luck hunting. The deals are out there especially after a big storm!
