My Converse Did Not Survive This…

- We are now officially in a “Severe Drought” here, triggering a contingency plan. The Mud Tub may not be as thrilling as an outdoor adventure, but it definitely has its perks-namely the highlighting of sounds and textures. Admittedly, this was absolutely a pain to film, but I believe the outcome to be far from boring. I hope you do, too. 😏

THANK YOU for adding the white socks!!! Beautiful!
Of course! They’re actually cream, thought it might not have translated well on the screen. I thought the black bands were quite fetching. 😊
You are so resourceful! I have created acceptable mud conditions similarly in my own back yard. It's been dry here in Michigan, too. I loved the soil blend that you used--it created the perfect clingy, chunky mud. And it was SO exciting to see you step out of your ruined shoes in your completely mud-coated socks! Thank you for the huge investment in time it no doubt takes to bring us this excitement!
Thank you! I think a benefit of “studio” filming is lots of close ups. It’s going to be a long winter…I may invest in additional equipment to help achieve that immersive experience. 😉
I kinda think I need to add a little clay to the mix. It’s very peaty. Good mud has an element of slime, no? Eventually it all goes in the barrel for deeper vids.
Very nice love the socks ripping 😍
Great! Wasn’t planned-removed the sneaker, saw the hole, and it seemed clear what had to happen. 😉
I have the same shoes in the background 17:04 😂😂
😊
Nice🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
As always, thanks! 🙏🏻
Another amazing video!! Loved the cinematography you poured into this video, the close ups, clarity, and sound! Loved watching you rip your black sock, nice how it went from destroying a holey sock on the right foot, to destroying a holey shoe on the left foot. Loved watching the inside view of you putting your foot into your shoe, can't wait for the next video, bravo sir!!
Thanks so much for this-I am determined to keep things fresh (in a muddy way, of course), and this may become challenging as winter months and drought ensue. 😳
I've got this stupid idea where I buy an old workshop with a pit for working under cars, then place some blocks inside to create different depths before lining it and filling it with mud. From shoes to wellies and waders it would cater for everything. Might be hard to work on my car while thigh deep in mud but these things have to be done.
I think that’s brilliant! And why not work your automotive toils while thigh deep? Sounds like pretty compelling content to me. I see oil cascading down while the clay creeps up…
I’m going to make something like this because I’m inspired by you.

The socks looked great, what brand were they? Loved watching them get muddy.
Like just about all my socks-they are generic. Since sinking fresh, brand new socks is part of the thrill for me, I don’t generally spend on brand names. These were from Temu, I believe.
@@ryanbacall Thanks for the tip, hope to see more of those socks getting wet/muddy 🙂
Did you use flower soil?
There’s a lot of stuff in this mix. Most of it is peat moss, which can take a lot of water to produce anything remotely sloppy. There’s also a small hit of manure. But yes, there’s a fair mount of potting-grade topsoil in here as well. You can see the perlite on my shoes and pants!
Too bad you didn't have a send set of feet to help you with that. A Converse clad set of feet at that. ;)
You speak truth.
Next time due this do it in a small swimming pool so u can sit in the mud fully clothed including ur shoes and socks maybe doing it with ur black socks and ur adidas shoes
🤔
next time can you mud nike socks I like nike socks
Perhaps! I don’t currently own any.
