    Colin, what a fascinating world pastel painting is.I am deeply indebted to you for showing me how you proceed in this art form. I have now completed some six pictures, the latest one being the Kingfisher. Thanks again for your inspiration. Your enthusiasm is infectious.

    Beautiful! I so much enjoy watching your process! It is always amazing to watch how you lay your base and then add the real colors you want to use on top, to get just the right level of shade. Thanks so much for sharing!

    I love your tutorials, would these work with coloured pencils. I have yet to buy some pastel pencils

    • @colin1940

      Carole Watson You could give this a try, the difference will be that the pastel pencils blend into each other developing more subtle tones; they are also erasable

    I wish you could have the picture that you are working on. That would be so helpful

      On many occasions I do show the reference I am working from, however most of the time I work from several different references as well as using my imagination. This would then confuse the student as to why I was making changes, the flow of the narrative would be affected. Thank you for.your feedback.

    Hi I have signed up for your course on the above. Love Kingfishers!! Your tutorial is great. One thing though - I cannot find out where I use the colour Helio Blue Reddish - 151?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks x

      Don't let the colour description mislead you, this is the ver deep blue that is used to strengthen the lighter blues and can sometimes be added to the blue/green areas. Thank you for your feedback

    AMAZING AGAIN! WHAT IS THE LARGEST PAPER YOU WORK ON WITH THESE PENCILS? DO YOU EVER DO A 12 X 16 DRAWING?

      Generally I prefer to work A4 or smaller as this suits the pastel pencil medium better. However I have produced larger paintings in this medium and they worked out well. Thank you for your interest.

    Can you please tell me what the "colour shaper" is? Is it a kind of rubber? or paper? thank you :-)

    • @colin1940
      @colin1940  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. A colour shaper is a blending tool with a rubber tip that can be used to blend the pastel colours. More information on the different colour shapers can be found here: www.colinbradleyart.com/home/how-and-when-to-use-our-colour-shapers/

      Smit Vasoya It is ok to copy any picture as long as it is for your own use or you do not derive income from the project, I hope that helps.

      Thank you for your feedback. I do spend time deciding where a horizon line should be put in, here I felt that I had got it just right. But thank you for your observation and interest.
