The Ministry should've had a few more members aside from The Acolytes that were actually put over more in the ring. Viscera was over-selling a lot and was also just there for other wrestlers to beat. The Brood should have remained members of The Ministry. It's not like Gangrel was trained to cut good promos or ever got to beat people, so put him with Mideon and Viscera. 1999 Undertaker to me was as evil as evil could get. I don’t think he realized how scared I was as a kid watching him come out and sitting on that throne. Then the whole mideon thing freaked me out even more. My school mates talked about it for days!
This was a great era from a character perspective. The costumes, the sacrifice, the symbolism, I thought it was magic and I loved it. I was quite disappointed when the Ministry joined with the corporation, especially as it hadn't really been a thing for all that long. I think we got about 3 months of the Ministry as it's own thing before "It was me Austin, it was me all along!" and then it got kinda silly, but at least Taker still looked cool. It was really disappointing for me the following year though when he switched to the American Bad Ass. As a tall, pale, weird kid who didn't really fit in, that late 90s Undertaker gave me someone that I could relate to, but I couldn't relate to the American Bad Ass in the same way because I'm neither American or a Bad Ass, plus the Kid Rock theme song which aged like a fine milk. So that Ministry era really meant a lot to me and I don't think there's ever been a faction in wrestling since that has been as cool. I'm kinda surprised that it was never revived, especially after Taker retired. He could be the manager who sends his followers to do his bidding. There's a lot of talent that could use a rebrand and that would benefit from that push.
I cried as a kid when I saw the ministry outside of Vince’s house, I think it was the night or week before they kidnapped Stephanie… I remember thinking “OMG Undertaker will literally show up to your home?”
The creepiest Undertaker moment came just before the Ministry, in 1998. Him and Paul Bearer kidnapped Austin, took him to a morgue, and tried to embalm him. I think that might have been the first time he did the chant that ended up going with his Ministry theme, too. Kane saved Stone Cold just before Undertaker could stab him in the chest.
I rewatched WWF 1999 a while ago and It went so hard with the dagger and cutting people, the demonic chanting When I was younger It was hanging the bossman that made my parents turn the tv off
I loved the Ministry but I wish it lasted longer. It's crazy how iconic some stuff from back then is and how short it really was. The start of the ministry til it got watered down with the Corporate Ministry was what maybe 4 months?
Ministry Taker was so good. Would have loved to see the evolution of the gimmick if he hadn't had to take time off due to injury in 1999. Seemed to be a small addition of ABA Taker as well as a stable with Big Show, Mideon and Viscera.
the guy mentions the Ministry went on for a year. No, it started at the beginning of 99, it became the Corporate Ministry in May and by August they were drifting apart. Undertaker left at the end of September for time off, and he actually started wearing the sunglasses and bandana the last month before that. It's too bad it didn't go on longer.
91 Undertaker scared kids. 99 Undertaker scared their parents.
Those parents didn't allow the purity of evil to guide them lol

I wish you would talk about Poltergeist The Legacy that you were on as The Soul Chaser Demon.
Omg, yes - I watched the heck out of that episode every time it came on
Would love to see Jeff hardy on the podcast !!
Tdker scared me to death in 91 an 92 fr tho an 99 definitely
Loved the ministry taker. The Latin in his theme with his back drop gave me nightmares as a child though.
I would've loved to have seen the ministry vs the Wyatt family.
The Ministry would have eaten the Wyatts alive.
I rewatched WWF 1999 a while ago and It went so hard with the dagger and cutting people, the demonic chanting
When I was younger It was hanging the bossman that made my parents turn the tv off
The Lord of Darkness-Ministry eras are my absolute favorite to this day‼️
Ministry of darkness was my favorite music the undertaker had!
Undertaker will always be The No.1 greatest wrestler in the world and for all Eternity!
Keeping rockin brother Undertaker!✌👍🤘
steph was a smoke show in that storyline too😂
Taker is really wise and intelligent in making a storyline
Didn't start watching till after taker went american badass so when I started seeing the older stuff as kid it scared the crap out of me lol
I loved the Ministry but I wish it lasted longer. It's crazy how iconic some stuff from back then is and how short it really was. The start of the ministry til it got watered down with the Corporate Ministry was what maybe 4 months?
This my favorite undertaker and the entrance music was fire
5:49 that’s exactly how my grandmother was when she first saw the undertaker 🤣🤣 from the face expression to the legs cross💀
Best version of Undertaker, hands down. 👍
When the big boss man got hung up on the steel cage that's what got me
Best Undertaker theme was Ministry Taker. Headbanging glory right there.
Greatest podcast I love the Undertaker I remember seeing him in person as a kid dude was like a tower biggest man I ever saw.
Has ever spoken about the weird transition between the Lord of Darkeness and American Badass in 1999
As a lifelong fan of the business and of undertaker. I love the creeper side of undertaker.
