    Your viedeo is helpful! Thanks! Now I'm doing the simulation about the glass test, to get the critical failture stress of glass. My equipment is similar to your modell, the difference is that, the glass sample is a beam. I give a displacement on the center of the top surface of the glass(just like a ball of the actuator moves), then want to get the results about the relationship between the displacement and the principle stress. The question is, I don't know how to set some parameters rightly(because the results in the simulation about the critical failture stress are not correspond to the resullts of my test. Actually the displacement is not the same, in the simulation and in the real test).
    So I just want to ask, if there are something wrong with my modell?
    I use the property of material elastic to give the young's modulus and Poisson's ratio(maybe "Brittle Cracking" is right?). Mesh is Tet-C3D10.
    I just use only a beam, then to define a displacement in the center on the top surface. Should I also draw the ball of the acututor just like the one in your video, and to define the interaction, will it make difference?

      Making the ball as applicator will make difference as it involves the contact stresses.

      Abaqus Acumen Many thanks, and I want to have one more question, when I use a metallic ball(radius about 0.5mm) to press the glass beam, the displacement is also small(about 100 micro meter), just like in the video but it's three points bending. So the interaction is only one point(ball to plane) or the interaction will be a load area circle?

      Apply displacement and measure reaction force, you will not face the convergence issue

    Brother ,
    After cmd run success ful , I return to abaqus then click " Results " , I did not get the results (3d view also I didnot get ) ..
    i think there r some steps r missing . Isn't it ?

      Please see that I am setting the working directory at the start of analysis. I guess you results file is in C:Temp.
