Thank you very much for this video you are my hero, you just saved me from failing at the university.

    Hi
First of all, I would like to thank you for the effort you put into making this video.
Secondly, I have a question and I wish you have the answer to it. I wanted to do a compression test on a "bucky ball" (and more precisely on the pentagon side which means 5 spheres where I cut a little bit of material in solidworks so that I can put a discrit rigid with contact interaction). But the problem is it doesn't work unfortunately.
On the monitor window, it says that there are some surfaces that abaqus doesn't recognize.
And when I add a constraint (coupling), it actually works but the bucky ball run far away from the two rigid solids. And that is not real at all knowing that there is only a Z-displacement (U3).
Can you please help me ? I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL.
    Thank you

It shows "My learning edition restricted to 1000 nodes" while data check. What can i do now pls give some suggestions

Increase mesh size, use coarse mesh

Each time I try to define the couplings on the top surface of the Rob i get the Error : SURFACE ASSEMBLY__PICKEDSURF13 CANNOT BE A RIGID SURFACE WHEN USED IN THE *COUPLING DEFINITION IN Abaqus/Standard. (What to do in this case.)

I have the same error, did you find a solution?

How to do failure in compression just like you show in tension

You can use properties of failure of your material as Johnson Cook damage material model.
