Air fryer tip! We buy the aluminum pie pans at dollar tree and pop one into the air fryer and cook our food as normal. Then just toss the pie pan in the trash and viola easy clean up!

Aluminum foil are toxic, so put those baking sheets in it first , the wax paper it think is what it’s called

@@mysticmessyme7093 Not wax paper, parchment paper. Wax paper will melt because it's waxy.

I've had a "Big Boss" air fryer for several years and it browns and crisps as well as any other process. You just need to find a rack that holds the food up a bit higher. Overall, BB is the way to go, much more versatile, and cheaper too.

Excellent review! You gave all the pros and cons. I’ve always wanted one of those Big Boss types of cookers. Will research more and decide, but you helped a lot!

Hi Tara, I love your shows. I took an aluminum pie pan , cut the rim off, so it is about 1 inch high ,squeezed the sides in a bit , to make them straight. It fits perfectly in my airfrier. No more having to scrub the bottom of the container. Good luck on your moving. God Bless

Thank you for the honest review! Especially on the topic of it heating up the kitchen. Living in a desert, in the summer we definitely try to stay away from using a big oven.

Great video. I would love more like this.
Can you please do a video explaining what seasons of the year is best for buying which types of products?
I think that for example buying new vehicles the best months are November and April (just guessing) and the best months to buy large appliances...washer and dryer are in February.

The mesh basket is for fries I believe. For chicken you want to use the other rack. Or just use parchment paper to avoid nightmare cleaning afterwards.

I know this video is older, but I enjoyed your review. I ended up purchasing a Ninja Foodi AirFryer oven XL Pro because we have a bigger family. It is like these two combined, plus a toaster oven. I think it combines the best of both.

Thanks for the vid Tawra. I’ve had a cooker like a big boss about 10 years ago and lost it in a move. The ninja: a few years ago i wanted one and got it from Sam’s club. I think I used it about 3 times and took it back. The reason I hated it was I couldn’t see the food. Drove me nuts. I ordered the air fryer xl which is shaped more like an oven with racks. Bonus was it had a rotisserie setup in it.
    Lol

Yes, I like this comparison that you've done.
Also like your favorite tools to use. I still like to use some of my antique hand impliments rather digging out an electric tool & then have additional components to clean up...
Don't have a dish washer so ease in cleaning something up is always a factor in what I'm using.
    Have a good day & great week-end, Tawra & Mike & family.
Aftervwatching your moving story, you should look at Roots & Refuge as they move from Arkansas to South Carolina with 6 kids all their animals, some of their plant starts, & everything else they have going on.
And then Whispering Willow is moving into their old farm & each are continuing their VLOGs... I get tired just thinking of all of it & knowing that I will need to pack up in the next year or two.... God willing...

I had a convection oven just like the Boss.. I used to bake in it... like frozen pizza and cookies. I also baked homemade bread. I think you can do way more... PS.. I also made soup in it..

...good video, I didn't know the difference between these two kitchen appliances. I thought they both used a Conventional metal heating element like those found in George Foreman grills, electric burners and in electric stoves 🤔
good to know the difference, thanks

Variants of the big boss air fryers have been around for years from different brands way before the modern air fryers were invented, I remember when i was a kid my parents had one of those with the big glass bowl. The modern air fryers are a redesign of those big boss look a like air fryers.

You should use the rack that lift the plate, it's really more crispy, just to turn one time your foos to get an equal result.

I my opinion the biggest reason for me to choose a big boss over an air fryer - Big boss better for health, no toxic fumes, no non toxic coating or plastic, BPA in my food.

Not heard of the Big Boss.. neat.. 😊 I know Ninja is a good brand, they do have bigger Air fryers, not sure if Ninja does, but I heard Cosori is a good Air Fryer.. something on my want list.. thx for sharing.😊

Don’t bother with Corsori. It’s not non toxic. BB is the most non toxic and ninja is safer than other air fryers.

The ninja foodie air fryer/pressure cooker is better than both of these. You can take a whole chicken and cook it on the high pressure cook Setting and then drain the water then switch over to air fryer setting to get the chicken nice and crispy.

Not to make you buy another appliance buuuttt... I have the nuwave air fryer and it's like both of your things in one! There's different settings like air fry, bake, broil, toast, etc. Its about the same size as a toaster oven (probably a little smaller actually) and its awesome! Plus it comes with a fry basket and a baking dish with broiler rack. Best appliance I've ever owned. Not sure about the price since I recieved it as a Christmas gift.

Why mess with that cheap halogen gadget when you could've just used your oven? What does it cost when the halogen bulb goes out, which, according to a bunch of comments I've seen, does happen 1-2 years after purchase? No, thanks. And no, sounds here like someone hasn't learned the capabilities of a good air fryer...
