I bought the other box and was quite happy with it. My only negative was the watercolor/crayon project and not knowing how to use some of the items. As soon as I saw the paper, I knew it wouldn't work well with watercolors. I don't know how to use mica powder other than mixing it with paint, plus it's messy and only figured out how to use the gold foil and adhesive after watching another channel. I think if you are very new to art, it would be a struggle. It would be nice if Arteza had QR codes that take you to videos that show how to use some of the less known products. Yes, the supplies aren't worth $80 but I bought it for the experience and it was fun. I would buy it again. I wouldn't buy this illustration box though. I wasn't fond of the projects. I did visit the artist's site. I wanted to see her work and quite enjoyed her style. Plus it helped with inspiration for the bee and cherry projects.
The projects in the other box weren’t that exciting for me, but I can see how others would like them. I also couldn’t get the crayon project to work well and I wasn’t a fan of not knowing how to use some supplies. If not a link or code, at least a small explanation somewhere would have been nice.
Haven’t starting watching yet, but I’m so excited for this! I’ll live vicariously through you with these supplies, if you don’t mind! Haha! 😅😊 Because they be pricey!
I wanted to clarify the difference between illustrative art and fine art. Fine art is created for the artist's satisfaction, while illustrations are designed for commercial purposes, such as selling items, entertaining, or spreading messages. Personal versus commercial use.
I'm will you! I bought the illustration one thinking pens, pencils, markers, erasers.... not so much paint! Plus it feels very crafty with the wood block and stuff in it
There are brands that make felt tip acrylic paint makers, Sharpie's Creative line for example. Also I'm addressing the markers as "plastic nib" because that is how Arteza describes differences of the nibs on the barrel of the marker. So far I've seen plastic nib, fine nib, and fine bullet nib on Arteza's acrylic/oil markers.
Hey loved watching you unbox my Advent!! I did pick out the supplies and projects in the box 🙌🏼✌🏼
That's awesome, thanks for clearing that up! 🥰

I agree, it’s pretty pricey, but I think it’s better put together than the painting one.

That is a better way of putting it than I did lol
As an artist who works primarily in ink, there is way too much paint in this illustration caldendar for me
I see what you mean, half the supplies were paint.
I thought this one was going to have alcohol markers, fineliners, colored pencils, etc. It sure has a lot of paint for not being the paint one.
You’re right. I wish none of the supplies were the same and there was a better line between the fine art painting and fine art illustration.

They don’t make acrylic markers without a plastic nib

Not true ARTEZA does make acrylic markers without plastic nibs, actually this size in this box are the only ones that have a plastic nib ✌🏼
Project 3 is supposed to be playing cards.
Thanks. I did mention that on the video in text. 😁
My thoughts are arteza isn’t like an expensive art store! Stop with the nasty attitude!
