I love watching the pundits like Tindall who were so against the Boks from the start.😂😂All I am saying is, we knew. Even after the Ireland loss, we knew how this was going to end.

I'm a South African and we definitely did not know, we were hopeful.

I think if France, SA, NZ and Ireland were in different pools they would have probably topped each pool and we would have ended up having those epic games in the semi-final. Both teams would have been tested the same on the road to the final. Well done to all the teams that stepped up in this world cup. Happy we won the whole thing but wow what a close tournament and the hardest road in history.
And arguably they should have been if the draw for WC was done at the right time!!

Won by a point from the Quarter finals. South Africa have proven a Point to the world that they are the WORLD CHAMPIONS
Winning by a point is, in essence, no different to winning by 2 points as in both cases you need a penalty score to win. NZ beat SA by 2 points in 2015.
I was listening to radio 2000 here in Cape Town yesterday and they were interviewing Ox Nche’s sister. Her name is, interestingly Fox Nche, and she’s also a rugby player.

What seems to be missed about Rassie going to another country is that SA's success is underpinned by a cultural dynamic and patriotism. Jacque and Rassie have known Siya and Eben and others since they were teenagers. He cannot replicate this by moving to (say) England.
France were let down by their spectators… rude…booing and some not so desirable behaviour…

Crazy how world rugby banned Rassie because he criticized the referee decisions in the Lions tournament.. but everyone from players to coaches could get away with openly criticizing refs in these matches... obvious witch hunt.

Don't preach better team, yes you have the world cup, but not the better team, probably not in the last 3 games of the tournament. A little lucky, but that is sport.

You mentioned DuPont being injured and came back to play in the quarters. SA did without Malcom Marks and winger Mpimpe. Bongie was also injured in the final, all key players. And yet….

Tindall held back on the Springbok hate. Overdue that England plays SA in SA (remember 2007?) One day we might get something in the spirit of the great sport we love from Tindall.
they played in 2018, which was a very close series. Pretty sure another series is going to happen as generally happens in 4 year cycles so England can visit NZ and Oz too
Agree with Mike on Rassie for the England DOR job. I can't see it working and there are great English coaches around Europe that could easily do that job. Rassie just works with the Springboks. He was a Springbok and knows what it means to be one.
World Rugby should allow the Tier 2 teams to play a game, just before each Tier 1 Test Match.

Overall, the Worldcup was amazing, so many spectacular moments. However, the french crowd and their boooooing, and overall attitude after France got knocked out was very disappointing, to say the least.

@philipkoekemoer4705 Lost a lot of respect for the French attitude when things didn't go their way...the death threats...the constant booing of the players and referees. People shouldn't have to be afraid doing their jobs and worry about their families. Not saying that's all of them, but sounded like it was the majority. Should take a long hard look at themselves.

Mandela used rugby which was a white only sport in South Africa to unite our country. At that time it was ridiculous to use rugby which reminded us of apartheid to now bring together. So for South African players they never take it for granted that their country that is still going through so many challenges needs them as ambassadors. Their unity, love, passion when they wear the green n gold jersey is a honour.. That level of playing has now made rugby the most watched and loved sport. Even USA had to Jump in or get left behind. South Africa: P 5, W 4.... 2 wks before RWC (where they played virtually 3 finals in 14 days), SA beat Wales and New Zealand with record wins . Boks achieved the impossible against the odds. Heroes all.

Excellent finisher with open line and broken defences - HOWEVER very poor under pressure and does not show up anywhere on the field to do extra work.
Have never performed in high pressure games.

The difference between France losing and NZ losing was that NZ were super hot favorites France and SA was or should have been a 50/50 it hurts but it was a loss that can be accepted

From a NZ girls point of view (with reasonably limited knowledge of rules etc, some knowledge, but) I would like to make the comment of "Hello! - its good consistent goal kickers that actually wins games!?**# All the World Cup winners have had them, all of our great sides, all the god damn great teams anywhere have had them! 87 Grant Fox, 91 Eales, 95 Stransky, 99 Eales, 03 Wilkinson, 07 who-cares?, 11/15 Carter and thats just the World Cups (Yes I know Carter not in the final, got us there though). It must be said that our dominant run in the 90s had Andrew Mehrtons and the last decade has had success with Beauden Barretts boot.. (Richie Mounga too) So simple yet somewhat overlooked - in my opinion, (and everyones entitled to my opinion!)! 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴 Proud to be an ABs supporter - 1 point in it. Hardly a thrashing. 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴

One thing I hope the other teams and supporters do in the future is take alot of what Rassie says and does in the media and on social media etc. with a pinch of salt. The man is brilliant at mind games and deflection but also just has a mischievous sense of humour.
Boks the greatest ever? Difficult to argue against. May not be everyone’s favourite style, but answered all questions asked of them
greatest team has to be 2011-2015 All Blacks. This Boks team hasn't won a single Rugby Championship since 2019. The All Blacks won 2x world cups, had 1x unbeaten year, and 2 years where they lost only once. They dominated world cups, the Rugby Championship, and seasonal rugby.

The whole world was then saying they the best team in the world, and you say South Africa, after winning their 4th world cup (no other country did that ever, plus 2 back to back) we are not the world best team?

Boks had the hardest route so you have to have massive respect for the 4th WC victory. England proved almost everyone wrong and that was exceptional that they finished 3rd. Only going to get better. Same as NZ. I feel bad for France and Ireland but thats sport. Talking about players of the tournament, i would have gone with Dupont... and rugby pundit of the tournament would go to BK. Ben is by far the best commentator.

England really came 5th behind France & Ireland. Weaker draw gave them a semis opportunity.

Wednesday and just watched the game gutted I knew the score .congratulation to south Africa but new zealand were wronged in parts of the game the red card should have been yellow.

I thought it was the worst RWC we've had. Portugal beating Fiji was the one awesome upset but the pools will largely go down as senseless 100 point dead rubbers. The one really good match was IRE v NZ. All the matches involving the eventual champion were arm-wrestles and bad for Rugby's image to acquire new fans. Loads of teams under-performed: Australia, Georgia, Japan, Samoa, Tonga, Italy... Wales wasn't great, nor a promising Scotland... NZ ARG was the most boring semi final of all time maybe. A red card final ... too much controversy with refs...
France lost a few fans with how they reacted to the loss. They should learn from the Irish. French fans honestly were quite pathetic.
PSDT, Eben, Alldritt, Danty, and DDA I think are all tournament bosses, but Ardie deserved the award. That battle between DDA and Aki was a battle for the ages.
French crowd was rubbish towards opponents. Night and day compared to Japan 2019.

Kinda gets annoying when you have to defend the cup against the haters after winning it. Didn't deserve it in 2007 and 2019 because lost to NZ in pool (2019) and had the easier route in both. Didn't deserve it in 1995 because of poisoning accusations. Dont deserve it now after winning the toughest world cup in history. Hearing all of that enough times can piss people off and cause the fans to rub it into those haters faces when they do win. The more they hate the worse it gets.
