Here's an idea, what if every tier 1 team 'buddied' up with a tier 2 nation, , maybe similar to Ireland and Portugal did at their training camp in July but more involved than that, trained with them at scheduled times, provided feedback and strategies to improve them etc. Basically, every tier 1 nation to 'sponsor' a tier 2 nation.
Great idea
That, young man is an excellent idea.
International tier 1 teams haven't the time pre any tournament to be coaching other international teams when they have limited time to concentrate on themselves.. a rediculous idea.. what will make the so called tier 2 teams get better is more games against other tier 2 teams and tier 1..
England did something similar with Georgia at some point I think
I absolutely love it, building a world on kindness, co op and solidarity. The way it should be. Just dont send any tier 2 to england, we want to improve T2, not handycap them
Great podcast. One point I'd disagree with Horgan and Haskell about is over SA's style of play. I think their attack has progressed significantly since the last Lions series. For sure, if it's working, they're happy to pummel their way to victory via their forwards (as they did against NZ at Twickenham recently) but their backline attack can also be devastating. Willemse, Arendse, Kolbe, Libbok and Williams are as athletic and quick a set of players as there is in world rugby in my opinion.
🤫
It has
It's frankly just lazy analysis. Pundits from the northern hemisphere don't seem to watch the Boks unless they play one of the home nations. So their only references are the Lions series (the Boks' first games of a rugby in a year!) and the 2019 final, which they like to ignore so they remember the semi against Wales. SA hasn't been a kick and crash team for a long time.
Tindall, Hask and Horgan were very 1 dimensional players in their time. They have zero clue as to what boring/exciting rugby is... The fact they actually tune in to watch England games, zzzzzz.
he knows just won't admit it
Said this before but Shane Horgan is the epitome of reason, humility and articulacy. Absolute legend.
Great hands! #CrokePark
Horgan: “It’s one of our skills as a nation: wangling tickets,” 😂😂
Yeah, the Irish wangling a win against the Bokka, by hook or by crook with the Ref's help at the end of game. It's not in the spirit of the game to hang on, off the ball the Bok players in the breakdowns.

Apparently Farrell had a bust up with Arundel in France, hence why he currently is persona non grata in the England set up so rumour has it.
Well that's Arundell fucked then shame that he's a English Shane Williams ....iv heard its pretty clique in that Squad .Ford and Farrell have got a lot influence on selection ....Shite
Because Andy Goode says so?!! Give me a break.

Players have spats all the time in camp. What's special about this ?
@@mikec2505I think Andy Goode knows more than you
Great. English toffs think Cymru Arg will be a tight game. That means Wales will smash it.
The sheer nauseating arrogance of tindal and Haskell towards anything to do with Wales is something else.. this rugby pod is supposed to be all for supporting the home nations yet tindal especially couldn't have made it more obvious his dislike for Wales.. nothing but seething criticism and prior to Aussie game was actually wishing for an Aussie win against Wales on this show .. man's a 🔔end
It is quite obvious. This channel is good, but it’s thinly veiled disdain for Wales is a big let down. I’m amazed Welsh players go on here.

Hask you know full well why Danny Care doesn’t have more Caps! He spoke up against EJs BS and he got cast aside… it’s a joke that Willie Heinz was considered a better option at the 2019 RWC. At the time Danny Care was the most Capped England no9, and he missed 3yrs of rugby as a result.
This podcast will never give real credit to South Africa.
That is true, but why does it matter. Just have a good laugh at their expence when the Springboks win the RWC, something they do at a higher rate than any other team.
Especially Tins - he's fully anti-Bok. I don't care if he's a "2% fat free" royal or whatever.. He gleefully bad-mouthed Boks just before the 2019 RWC Final (see Chasing the Sun) and continues to do so consistently. Poephol of note.
France kicked the ball 44 times against NZ, South Africa 2 weeks prior, kicked the ball 26 times. But France play entertaining rugby? Okay. Watch the games, and not your agendas.
If Ireland win, then great. If France win, then great. I just hate when these pundits go Bok/All Black bashing. Respect these teams as they’re the most successful teams in the game.
Northerners show way more respect than Southerners. France and Ireland are unbeaten and yet the mental gymnastics that Southern pundits are doing to justify their predictions for why SA and NZ will win on Saturday and Sunday is truly a sight to behold. Past triumphs don't matter if your team isn't good enough now.
@@liamwilliams6651kinda disagree southerners have way more respect! You northerners especially England are the worse

My names Kurt Koroi with a radical idea that could be a good topic for discussion.
If we switched the ruling for
1. Every player is to wear a head gear to minimise the head knocking issues to a less severe outlook but then concentrate on the more severe tackles or head contact. And
2. If we changed the rule to minimise or restrict every team to only 20 kicks in a match which would then speed up the game for the general viewing.
Thoughts?
With Farrell I don’t think it’s because he comes from a league background, it’s because he’s lost his edge and Smith is not getting a look in with him being picked automatically. It’s a selection issue, not a background or commitment to England issue.
Absolutely.
I agree but he has always taken a lot of flack even when he was playing at his best
@@eleanorwilliams7771 Which is senseless. Nevertheless, any genuine, respectful criticism of him now should not be conflated with the actions of idiots in the past. No one who genuinely cares about the state of English rugby would wish to be unkind to a player who has served the country well in the past, but is showing reason for real concern today. We've one chance to start correction against Fiji and it needs to be emphatic and without historical sentiment. If we don't (and should we wriggle past Fiji) we be ABSOLUTELY ANNHIALATED whomever we meet in the semi-final. Totally dismantled, and it'll set the National game back years. The time is NOW.
Top players always take flack eg Richie,Ezabeth,Marx, and many more they play on the edge and are expected to be amazing every game
It's multifaceted. Partly it's his personality - it's hard for non-Irish to like Sexton, or non-Welsh to like Biggar for the same reason. They're ultra competitive, they wear their hearts on their sleeves and they're prepared to moan or wind people up and behave in a less than gentlemanly fashion in order to win. Not liking him for this is understandable.
The tackling sticks in the craw for many, though I as a lover of physicality like it. It's made even worse because there are a fair few he got away with... not that it's his fault, but it has fuelled the conspiracy theorists.
So add these legitimate, or potentially legitimate personal dislikes, and then amplify it to what Farrell represents to people: he's England's captain, and everyone in the world hates England. He's from RL, the pantomime villain for a lot of Union fans around the world. He plays for Saracens, who everyone loves to hate... and he's Northern which a lot of the southern toryboy England fans hate.
He's the symbol for a lot of vitriol being sprayed from all corners of the globe. There's mass alzheimers from the people who think he can't play 12, or mass stupidity from those who think England's backline will be exciting with only one playmaker. There's mass bias from people who think he's responsible for England being boring (anyone watch England vs Japan with Ford kicking everything away?). There's bias from people who love either Ford or Smith and don't want Farrell at 10 or at all.
Not sure you guys talked about England enough ....
I think faz is getting some stick but the general gripe with England is the system overall. And that's down to the coaches. Arundell scores 5 tries and doesn't pick him? I'm a glocester fan and Johnny may is struggling. They need to take more risks with Smith Arundel Theo Dan all hungry players. Give them that chance to step up and the rest will follow.
A fair comment. I subscribe to the Times, and the sheer vitriol about Farrell is something to behold. I actually think they'll beat Fiji comfortably. Hope I'm right.
What is it with Irish pundits with taking jabs at South Africa? I never hear it from the Irish fans. It's like all the pundits copy Ger Gilroy's notes on how to hate on the Boks. It's weird.
Pundits. Have to harness their audiences. All my mates in Dubai are Irish, and as a South African, you can rest easy knowing that these pundits don't represent the masses.
I agree with Mike in respect to England team. We need to support the team good and bad times.
No one is bullying him, it's that the TEAM, it's a TEAM game, seem to suffer when he plays in that position. Now I know it's the coaches fault for this. but he should be able to take people saying he ain't good for the TEAM in the position he plays Haskell you big oaf.
Changing coach so close to WC aside, is the Borthwick style game what England want to play for the next four years?
At a time when Club rugby and numbers playing are dwindling you would think they need an inspirer and a style that attracts ppl to the game, so in short no 😂Also no disrespect to Borthers but he's dreary as dreary as can be.
The style is not necessarily that bad - but it is being executed so poorly, the team is making bad decisions on the pitch, not gelling as a team, and then making basic skill errors... definitely that is hard to watch as a supporter!
I've got no enthusiasm for this England team.
It's like a worse version of 2007 England.
Borthwick should have been given license to start over. Farrell, Youngs, Vunipola, May & Tuilagi are all well past their best. Itoje is long off form and needs a reset. Daly seems to have grease on his hands.
All of them should have been seen as surplus to requirements. England could have made it this far and on to the semis with a more dynamic team playing much more exciting rugby.
As an England fan , its quite liberating to be able to look forward to some great matches this weekend without the stress of being among the favourites . Shane epitomised why the Celtic nations never do well at world cups - Lack of belief . Ireland have nothing to fear and I fully expect to see them in the final . I have a bad feeling that France will get bullied out of it , by SA . Hope I`m wrong , and we get the first ever all northern final .
Didnt age well.
😂😂😂😂 no NH final for YOU 😂
I don’t care about Farrell’s background, it’s his discipline that I take issue with.
Why are teams so often judged solely on their attack? The Springboks have arguably been the best defensive team for a long time, but they're constantly judged on their attack, which also is not the stereotype people can't seem to get over.
Poor Haskell caught the bed bugs
Very interesting but totally false premise about Owen Farrell. If your « class » point was correct why is AndyFarrell so revered? Nothing to do with social standing - it’s all about quality of play, and he’s not cutting it. Neither are many others, but please stop trying to gag comments on the England captain. He’s pretty crucial and he’s not cutting it. If class was the issue how do you account for so many other « working class » stars of English rugby’ both current and historic.
Quite right, Sir. It's utter tosh.
Will be interesting to see the next episode because those QFs were something else.
I watch GBR for amusement value. Comments like SA blaming the ref when we lose being an example of this. NZ blamed the ref in 2007 and poisoning in 1995. France blamed the ref in 1995. Then in 2023 we saw 4 teams blaming the ref: NZ, France, England and Argentina. We also saw England going to extreme lengths to defame Bongi and, unsurprisingly, GBR went to great lengths to defend Curry. I watch the Big Jim show and he provides a far more balanced approach. SA wins without IMPORTS. SA won in 2023 despite the fact that, in all fairness, the tournament should have been awarded to SA and this would have afforded us home-ground advantage.
Wales, Ireland, France and England to go through.
I think you're right. The Ireland/NZ match is almost too close to call, but I think Ireland just nudge it. JUST.

Loving Mike's cap👍
Couldnt agree more on Danny Care. Youngs seems to lift the ball, then step and pass making much easier to pressure the line. Care passes from the base faster.
Arundell HAS to start v Fiji. He's got the same threat that Jason Robbo had.

Horgan is right that the fact that the England team is so unstable at this stage of proceedings is ridiculous. As for Farrell, he has no business playing inside center. Just my opinion, but I don't think he's fast, big or skillful enough. If he has to play it's at 10, but I think Ford and Smith are better facilitators
The ULTIMATE Quarter Finals Preview ...? Is there a part 2 or are Eng, Ire,Fra +Wales the only teams of any consequence? Maybe this is your Semi-Final show a week early?
Farrell is all about gamesmanship and not sportsmanship, that’s why he’s hated. He’s an ambassador of football type of whining and harassing the ref on calls whilst play is going on far less when it’s stopped. You might say that’s his job as captain but he takes it far beyond others. Last World Cup he made a big show of being held around his neck in a maul so the ref would spot it. Many other moments like that and older rugby fans don’t want that coming into the game. If you pundits can’t see that then your bias has blinded you. I’m not from any country in the World Cup and have no horse in the race btw
Farrell is a pussycat compaired to Bigger and Sexton lol
Besides, i've seen multiple refs say he's a pleasure to ref so I think it's your Bias not the presenters at play here.
Incorrect
That was some serious crap you just commented
harassing the ref? that'll be BIGGAR you're talking about lad
Interesting your responses? I agree. In fact I put it delicately but these guys are delusional.. He acts like a pr**k. Not a great ambassador for English rugby. But then again, maybe. ;).
Not too concerned with Welsh injuries. Part of a world cup, and Wales usually seem to not mind being branded with the 'injury' tag. SA have already lost a few (Marx, Mapimpi), Ireland lost one (Ryan), France quite a damn few. So I wouldn't allow that tag to stick, if it was me. What I am worried about, is the kicking ability and running ability of Argentina - that game is going to be sooooo close, in my opinion. I'd also be worried that the injuries are focused around number 10 (but not the number of injuries). If we lose both 10s, I think we will bump Halfpenny up to full back, and let him kick (which I would NOT mind, personally). But then Costello at 10 in a QF / Semi final is hugeeee.
We will also see all teams go through another 80 minutes plus this weekend, so expected at least another 1 or 2 injuries - and now to key players given the starting lineups / concentration of 'big teams'. But, and I always forget this until it comes around, sometimes the WC really doesn't get started until the knock out stages - which is hard to believe given the amazing rugby already. What a tournament it has been. And shame on 6n / Rugby Championship for not allowing these 'smaller' teams in. Neglect increased support if you like, but at the disadvantage of the entire sport. Whilst football has its foot hard to the ground, and is expanding international competitions at every corner it can.
Biggars back, Costello on the bench apparently.
England, France , Ireland , Wales through to semi final
Right about Danny boy!.. (fm Capetown) Great Hollywood duPont idea Ben...🤣
Argentina gonna surprise everyone. Remember this comment
So, the “Six +2 Nations” (I’ll leave it to others to create a natty title) could be loosely based on the (now abandoned) “15 Core + 1 Invitational” teams on the Sevens circuit.
(1) 2 invitational teams (logically, Georgia & Portugal) take part in the competition.
(2) To become a “Core”, an Invitational must finish in the top four (which would generally mean beating 3 Cores - which is a high enough bar to prove pretty conclusively that they deserve a seat at the top table).
(3) If neither Invitational finishes in the top four, they are replaced the following year (by, presumably, the top two teams in a secondary competition)
(4) If one Invitational finishes in the top four, they become Core for the following year with the other Invitational and the eighth-ranked team being replaced
(5) If both Invitationals finish in the top four:
(a) they both become Core for the following year, with the bottom two dropping out.
(b) Alternatively, only the higher-ranked becomes Core, the other (plus the eighth-ranked team) dropping out.
Maybe have a similar structure for the Rugby Championship, to include (to start, based on the RWC performance) Fiji & Japan
Of course, unless the incumbents accept the principle of promotion/demotion from the 6N/RC, the whole idea is doomed…
This aged well :D

Who? The only teams of interest here are England, Ireland, France, Wales
From an Irish fan, I too hate how Owen Farrell is targeted so negatively and I’m so glad this was highlighted here.
Win a game outside the pool stages first😂🤣 England should get knocked out too. Bye bye Ireland😂
horgan is a great pundit
Mike Tindal at 1:03:24 “I want 4 home nations in the semifinals.” Wales knocked out👊🏻 Ireland knocked out👊🏻 😂🤣 The predictions on this mediocre podcast are horrendous😂🤣
I think if france win and ireland lose, france massively jump by far favourites of the tournament , don't think any other results would result in such a big change in expected winners
Why does the idea of picking Smith seem such a shock to some people, he is literally one of the most X Factor players we have in the England setup (alongside Arundel) Every time he gets a chance he is unbeliveable and either scores tries or creates tries and he has been doing this out of position at full back! If he had got a chance at 10 he would have been the best performing fly half for England by a mile.. Smith and Arundel are the most destructive attacking threats in the England squad and should be starting in their rightful positions. Playing players out of position is just counter productive and unacceptable especially at a WC. Play your most in form dangerous players in their positions, it is so simple yet SB makes it oh so difficult...
Did you characters seriously ask why people would bully a bully? Farrell is well known for bullying. Why wouldn't people show him what it is like, in a more keyboardy, less mouthy/fisty way??
They don't really know Portugal rugby, half of the players plays in France in Pro14 and Pro D2. And Lagisquet is a French international.
Bokke all the way🎉🎉🎉
Counting on experience is a good thing. The inability to recognise when a dog's had it's day is irresponsible. Respectfully remarking on this fact, and suggesting alternatives is what freedom of speech permits and encourages. It's pretty plain to see that Borthwick's approach is not instilling confidence but we DO HAVE the players in the squad who could ratchet the quality up, given the opportunity. Loyalty is an admirable quality of course, but let it obscure reality at your peril.
Have they placed the Eddie Jones Leadership book on the shelf for a joke. 😂
It will be an all SH semifinal
I don't hold with personal abuse at all, but it's quite legitimate to point out Farrell's shortcomings as a player - notably a poor tackling technique that has consistently led to either a breach of the defensive line or the concession of penalties .
Shane Horgan saying that he prefers French rugby over the springboks style of rugby is a ridiculous comment. The French team have based their game off the spring 2019 team and kicks more than any other team. They have similar styles so throw that one out the window
Think you’ve all forgotten about the number of tests in the starting line up. Think it’s over 800 and possibly 900. Stop and think about that
8:40 no what needs to happen is, the team in the 6 Nations who gets the wodden spoon, does a 1 game or a 3 game series against the winner of the European rugby championship, for relegation/promotion. The winner gets the 6 Nations and loser gets European rugby championship.
Might sound great, but let's be honest. Rugby in the northern hemisphere is pretty rough at the moment. England coming into this was at an all time low. Financial issues at numerous clubs. Wales the same, with players not getting paid and a loss of loads of contracts. Italy has been having serious issues too, with clubs being wound up and new ones taking their place. If they were to be relegated, any of them, and I include Ireland and Scotland in this. It might be the death blow to the sport in those countries. In which rugby is not in the top sports of any of them. It's also historical. The roots of this home nation's cup. That then expanded to include France in 1910. You just can't kick them out, as they built it to what it is now. If you're looking to add teams, it has to be expansion. Maybe have a play off for the spots, a knock out tournament. I know I would watch it.
@@plebius firstly, rugby 8n the Northern hemisphere is growing nicely, just issues in Wales and England, that doesn't count as the whole Northern hemisphere. Secondly, did you miss the part where I said, a play-off series? If you're good enough to win a 3 game series, then you're good enough to play in the 6 nations. The reafor a threat of relegation/ promotion, is what is needed, " WHY you may ask?, well when you watch the 6 Nations, 4th, 5th and 6th spots don't care at the end of the 6 nations. Now if you had a threat of having to play in a 3 game play-off series, for relegation and promotion, than you will play hard till the end. This in turn will create better and stronger competition, also give a route for the European rugby championship clubs, a rout to the 6 Nations, and give something for them tonplay for. That in hand will make them improve.

Owen’s form has been good for Saracen’s but in the last six nations he was below par and his kick percentage was awful. He may get back to his best, he may not. He’s not our form 10 at the moment. I prefer to see us play our lads in the correct position ie a genuine inside centre at inside centre not an out of form 10. I believe we can win it but that would mean playing the kids to play with genuine attacking pace. Shoving it up the jumper and wayward kicking just won’t do it.

there was NOTHING wrong with England's form with Farrell at 10 and it all went to shit went Smith was at 10.
About Farrell, its not about Farrell actually, its about coaches who make him captain when he lacks the in game leadership skills and by playing him out of position so he is set up to get all this crap. His lack of leadership capability manifests itself in almost every game by his petulance, with his lack of awareness at critical times, by seeing red and by not having the mental dexterity to change the game plan in response to whats happening in a game. Lets take the Samoa game, his interactions with Brace embarrassing, his overrunning the shot clock, and by running the same attacking plays even though Samoa had clearly worked them out and on top of that he looked totally pedestrian in the 12 jersey. None of this is inherently his fault, if he was reigned in by a strong captain and played at 10 we would probably all be a lot happier with him.
I don't know Farrell but I'm not sure his leadership roles have been an issue for England or his club
As for petulance, I haven't noticed him being more petulant than other #10s or captains . Is Farrell any different from Sexton ,Russell or Bigger ?
I can't think of a single starting England player who had a good game so why the knives are out for Farrell yet the others are seemingly getting a pass I have no idea.
Personaly I like all the England #10s Gord, Farrell and Smiyh and am not that fussed which start or are on bench.
England's performances have nothing to do with who is playing at #10. Currently they are about our forwards who are struggling at the breakdown can't carry and can't provide quick ball. Until that is fixed and the forwards can secure and provide quality ball then who plays at # 10 is irrelevant .

I think a realistic option is for the tier 2 European nations to get friendlies against the Six Nations before the tournament starts. Yes it means an extra game, but I do think the countries could do with a warm up anyway.

Agree on the early negative and unwarranted flak Farrell attracts yet, as Captain, isn't he responsible for standing up and resolving the problems in there being no gameplan re: selection, no joy and collective spirit? Are not these things he can challenge the team's coach? Or does he treat Borthwick in the same way as Borthwick appears to treat him?
Hask do you still think Eddy should have stayed with England?

It was a unique pressure when you were involved shaggy not this this team.. should be a great game.
Farrell deserves stick for that penalty clock garbage. That is unacceptable at test level.
If he kicked that penalty, England would likely have been 4 points up. And not vulnerable to a penalty or drop goal..... stupid and incompetent
A plea/ request. Please, please, please please no close up of Haskell on the sofa in his shorts. 25:53 onwards it looks like he is wearing grey budgie smugglers. We don’t deserve this.
Ja well no fine.
Shane you're a nervous Nelly, Ireland win with something to spare
The Farrel issue is purely selection. You think any opposition would fear Farrel running at pace compared to a Manu Tuilagi? As ex players it boggles my mind that you blokes are so incompetent on what you are supposed to be experts at
It boggles the rest of us why you think the role of a #12 is just to make runs ? Farrell has ever been considered as a running #12 . He never has. Shane Horgan explaining quite clearly Farrells success and strengths as a secondary playmaker and distributing .#12 .
Perhaps you should try actually listening before opening your big mouth and talking kak
They'd rather Ireland over France? Well Shane your expert analysis truly amazes. Wonder how France were gonna be able to get NZ in a QF when they're in the same group.
Honesty are they still sayings England has good players
Ireland are to good for the AB's. win by 10
I think so too...but Wayne Barnes is the ref.

Oh well chaps…in general that aged badly 😂
Eddie took over Lancasters team and won a grand slam; after that nothing . Key member of Jones/ Borthwick team has been Farrell and they have got progressively worse. He is great for Sarries but has produced for England. And he can’t tackle!
Portugal just brilliant.
As for Owen Farrell. The inversion of fact and fiction that runs across the world and the UK. The so called liberals are the issue. If British values return along with critical thinking and commonsense the nonsense spouted about Owen Farrell will disappear.
Nigel Owens comments on OF are the correct ones to be heard. He has the utmost respect as do I.
i don't think adding 2 teams to the six nations will make it a more enjoyable experience for the fans. the competition is not for the benefit of tier two nations, its for 6 western european nations. lets not devalue our product so that tonga and georgia can do better at world cups.
Totally agree, and it hasn't worked for Italy, been in the 6N for 23 years, won about 6 games in that time and they have been really poor this world cup. Leave the 6Ns alone.
I think its that rugby will be better world wide, it used to be the 4 nations until France joined and then became 6 nations when Italy joined . Each time this tournament improved, it went forward, so there is no reason it cannot continue to improve. It’s time rugby stopped the whole “elite-isim” there are lots of very small poor countries playing international soccer and this sport grows every year.
@@davidwalker2402 that's amazing, you think it's elitist to want to maintain the quality of the six nations 🤣 Adding France was a no brainer and you can"t argue that Italy have improved the tournament. I'm ok with it because it evens out the number of teams but they are a cut and a half below the rest and the other teams in the 6n still treat Italy as a team we should be beating. What happens when it becomes the 12 nations? Or the 24? It'll be twice as long and half as good, viewing figures will drop massively and all prestige would disappear from winning it. It is not the fault of tier 1 nations that tier 2 nations aren't as good at rugby as us. I'm not against helping out but we shouldn't be willing to massively dilute the six nations on the off chance that some of these teams will give us a better game in 20 years time.
sorry but that's nonsense@@davidwalker2402
@@d.jparer5184 oh like football went downhill when they had 4 divisions and then the premiership, don’t be so ridiculous , did FIFA fall apart when they allowed 32 teams into the World Cup , did the Masters golf fall apart when they made that more inclusive or Wimbledon or the Olympic. Such a jaundiced view you have of your beloved Rugby. Get down of your high horse there’s nothing special up there 😂😂
I sincerely hope the typical Irish over-confidence doesn't come back and bite them in the ar$e like it traditionally has. This weekend will be fun however it goes!
Typical Irish over-confidence? 😂😂😂😂
Typical Irish over confidence??? What are you talking about. 😂😂😂 We're literally famous for being pessimistic 😂
The abuse isn’t about class. It’s a mixture of Xenophobia, hypocrisy, keyboard warriors and jealousy.
And Farrell makes for a good pantomime villain...he comes across quite aloof and arrogant, he cheats a bit, but is also very good....
@@therealmrfishpaste Cheats?
@@TheDandob1982 Throws in the odd armless tackle at key moments in the game....don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the guy...and a lot of players cheat a bit....but it adds to the whole pantomime villain profile....Or perhaps put it this way. He wouldn't be a pantomime villain if he was arrogant, very good, but very clean; nor would he be a pantomime villain if he was very good and cheated but came across as humble and genuine (like McCaw)...nor would anyone care about him if he was arrogant dirty and a useless rugby player....so the fact that he has all three characteristics makes him a perfect target.
@@therealmrfishpaste Poor tackling technique isn’t cheating, he’s had one red card in the international stage and the action he took didn’t give England any advantage. Cheating suggests premeditation with a goal of gaining an unfair advantage.
Honestly, if you think he isn’t humble, you really don’t know anything about the guy. Do a bit of research and I guarantee you’ll change your mind. Look at the Nigel Owens incident with Farrell, look at his charity work. He’s with his childhood sweetheart and raising a young family. He’s never in the tabloids for the wrong reasons. Take a step back.
@@TheDandob1982 I chose my words carefully...he 'comes across as arrogant and aloof'....so much like Schalk Burger, who was a bastard on the field and gentleman off it....and Nick White, who, is an aggravating irritation on the field, but a really nice guy off it...Farrell's on field demeanor comes across as arrogant and aggravating, so for those who don't know him off the field, that's all they see.
And as far as cheating goes...I remember two consecutive test matches (against SA and AUS) where Farrell did match saving no arms tackles that were certainly deliberate....so deliberate foul play in order to win a game is pretty close to the definition of cheating
But don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the guy, I'm just trying to detail the factors that make it easy for him to be portrayed as a bad guy.
try in the first minute for Ireland was possibly blocking. should have gone to the TMO. but wouldn't have changed the ultimate result. Match up between Ire and NZ is mouthwatering,
New Zealand 🇳🇿 Argentina 🇦🇷 South Africa 🇿🇦 England 🏴 😂Southern Hemisphere rugby BAU
Owen gets shit because he has been treated differently when he's gone high - which he has done many times - it's not a class issue
Ire could buddy up with eng so😅😅
Horgan, what a load of nonsense - 'a class thing'?! I come from as poor a background as you can think of, a lot worse off than poor little Owen, and I've given sh*t about his selection & performances.
We don't like that he keeps getting selected, keeps f-ing things up in defence (apparently his strength), his attacking is always so slow anyway, even his kicking wasn't all there. All while others, like Ford, are performing brilliantly and still get taken off early instead of Farrell.
His silence is filled by the view of his performance, if you want to be more accurate, and if he doesn't like being treated like a twat by the public then try being open and/or nice to the the public... Mind blown 🤯😂
