    When I worked at sonic, the ice cream machine was two machines in one so you could shut down one side for cleaning and use the other side. We did it everyday.

  • @mattasticmattattack8546
    @mattasticmattattack8546 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    I worked for McDonald's before, the machines must be thoroughly cleaned before adding the cream , and still after adding the cream you have to wait 2 hours for them to mix and temp right , and if they don't temp correctly you have to discard all the mix and start over , or else you'll have liquid milkshakes that taste like sanitizer and give you diarrhea. It's just easier to keep them off instead of having to refund every mcflurry order in some stores. Mystery solved.

      I've worked at a McDonalds too back when I was in HS. The ice cream machine was the worst thing. We hardly ever had it on because of how tedious it was to set up, clean, etc.
      You would THINK in this day and age there would be an easier and more efficient way to do something so simple...it boggles the mind.

    • @osiris2384
      @osiris2384 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was going to say the same thing. I worked there in HS and being a bunch of 16-18 year-olds that didn't give a single fak about customers, we just turned it off so it was done before we had to close the store. That's what you get when you hire a bunch of kids at minimum wage, which at that time was $5.15/hr.

    McDonald's owns the company that produces machines. Franchise owners can't have any other repair place fix the machine. They have to fly out a repair man to fix it which is out of pocket from the owner. The cost of that is generally very expensive to do that rather than calling local repair place.

    Here is the real story about the ice cream machines in case you don't know. I worked at McD's from 1986 off and on into the early 90's and not once. ONCE! Did our ice cream machine break. It is a complicated machine with 30 plus parts that have to be taken apart and cleaned and then re assembled correctly EVERY DAY. It's broken because your employees are lazy and or dumb. They don't want to clean it so they lie and say its broken. Or they are dumb and actually broke it. Just remove the ice cream and let the fattys have a fucking shit fit. Who cares. I love Tim D.

    I remember a couple years back, the ONLY time I ever went to a HIbachi Grill; it was not by choice, it was something I was dragged into because it was like a birthday thing on account of me and my sisters have birthdays in the same week.
    There's something about making the preparing of food a spectacle that automatically puts me into a foul mood... especially if everyone else enjoys that spectacle. I hate when people try to make something that's mundane 99.99999% of the time into some kind of circus routine, and the people who fall for it only make my mood blacker.
    Then I tasted the food: first of all it was obviously hot, too hot, because there was no transition period like it virtually every other restaurant in existence between the cook and the customer... so you start off the meal with a burnt tongue and no sense of taste, which wouldn't have mattered because everything tastes like tempura breading.
    It's like the one time in my life, and I include my military days in this, where I left an eating establishment wishing I'd just gone hungry.
