    • @AerialWaviator
      @AerialWaviator ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The video provides model names, and some details where where demoed. A little web searching will provide the latest info. Some vehicles show appear to be concepts at time of this video, which may change in a few months time. The bonus of searching for a particular model you like, is the search results may provide other similar vehicle options.

    People seem to forget that most any new technologies seem impractical and outrageously expensive upon intial entry into the market.
    For example, things like microwave ovens and VCR's -- both ran about $1500.
    And cell phones... remember "the brick" in the 1980's? About $8 per minute to actually USE it.
    ...and, for that matter, the automobile -- or "horseless carriage" -- in the early 1900's... a whimsical novelty only for the very wealthy.
    Over time, advantages in technology, market demand and improved efficiencies of production, ALL of these things are common consumer items today.
    So, yeah, scoff as one might -- it's gotta start somewhere. If anything, it's long overdue -- especially in the United States.

For this money, you can buy a car or a few good bicycles made of aluminum, and an electric scooter to boot. Some crazy price.🤕

    I love how a lot of these want to abuse bike lanes whist trying to be a car. You can really tell that the people that design them hate bicycles and have no clue why people use them.
    These car-wannabes are massively oversized for use on bicycle lanes, as those are designed with 1 or 2 normal bicycles next to each other so that one can still pass (as everyone rides at a different pace). These would take up most if not all of the cycle lane and would block intersections etc.
    Not that I am worried they will catch on here (Netherlands) as I am guessing they will either not be allowed (because they don't meet speed/size regulations) or will simply be way to expensive compared to the alternatives

    • @bobcampbell3505
      @bobcampbell3505 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Right, and it would seem that this situation should be resolved at least at the state level in the interests of air and traffic pollution. State legislators and Governors and their appointees should get up off their dead-rearends and pass the required legislation to allow citizens to use these vehicles instead of being stuck with the behemoths that GM, Ford, Tesla and all the other large foreign automakers offer us. But, in these great United States, we know all those so-called problem-solvers are on-the-take and will do nothing to help us bozos do the right thing! Bob Campbell

    To go on roads, they'd have to conform to local government rules. I doubt these vehicles would be legal.
    To go on pathways, they'd have to go slow and not be a danger to pedestrians. I doubt these vehicles would be allowed on pathways.

  • @lunatik9696

    These vehicles need at minimum 50 mph cruise and 50 mi range to be useful on US roads.

    Several are close with great design, but still need Americanizing for the US market.

    Wait till you find out about public transport 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

  • @PixelShade
    @PixelShade ปีที่แล้ว +3

    To be fair, we have already found solutions for the future of mobility, it's called public transit and bike-sharing services. As cities become designed around walkability, cars and car-like transportation becomes less of a necessity (especially since everything you need for everyday life is within walking distance).... I sold my car 2 years ago, singed up for free car sharing service (only costs when you use a car), but haven't even used that once... Sure, I live in a walkable city. But I believe in a future where all cities can be designed in a similar-, or even better way. Keep in mind this city was destroyed in the 50's and 60's to make room for car infrastructure primarily, but during the last 20 years there's been a MASSIVE change towards walkability and bicycle infrastructure... I visit my partner who lives in another city 25km away from my own, and my relatives, 45-50km away. Many times I take the bike to get to them instead of going to the gym. Why waste your free time exercising when you can do it when you would otherwise be stuck behind a wheel or stuck in traffic.
    Also, we need to be mindful saying things like "it's as environmentally friendly as a bike!" as such a statement clearly doesn't take the principle of "lifecycle management" into consideration. What we need is simple, repairable solutions, preferably without reliance on batteries. Like normal bikes, trains, trams etc. that's what a sustainable future looks like. You could always search for "cobalt mining", and see if the "battery ev future" is something we are willing to support. (and no, oil isn't better)

    • @PixelShade
      @PixelShade ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@redx11x it's not really a paradise, but it's a very comfortable city with good bike infrastructure (there's still plenty of improvements that can be made but compared to many other places in the world it's very well developed). I live in Malmö, Sweden. I guess what is unique about the city is that our local government has been the same for a very long time and they care about the well-being of its citizens. Both in terms of walkability and bicycle infrastructure, but also a lot of other things, like offering a lot of free culture. concerts, yearly festival, tons of free activities for kids etc. It's not a tourist paradise, but it's a nice place to live.
      When I go to Lund, there's literally an unobstructed "bicycle motorway", located away from car traffic with perfect asphalt, lights, greenery and wind protection, when I travel south to Trelleborg, we have similar bicycle roads. What is funny though is that the wonderful bike infrastructure ends abruptly as you enter "Vellinge" (a car-centric rich people municipality), and once you enter Trelleborg the bicycle road is available again. It's kind of hilarious what kind of effect the local government has on these things. :)

      With more remote working, house prices removing choice of location (meaning longer commutes), and the expansion of cities, cars and private transport becomes even more necessary. With public transport being an awful experience, unreliable, and expensive, cars are an ever popular choice.
      Plans for walk-about cities and bike reliance are pretty unforgiving for people over certain ages (while many 50yos can cycle, many can't) with disabilities, or with medical conditions, even minor ones such as rapid overheating.
      I own 3 cars and not only rely on them but thoroughly enjoy them.

    1 Трехколесный и 3 четырехколесный велосипед в кузове - лишний вес, чем это лучше простого двухколесного велосипеда? Ах да, там же аккумулятор до кучи к педалям. Ой, и у велосипедов также можно сделать. и кто сказал что педалями там кто-то будет пользоваться когда есть электропривод? 2 Электромобиль - занятно, компактно, почти идеально. Скорость до 90 км/ч, а значит ему место на дороге общего пользования, а не на тротуаре. Что с этим клопом случится во время аварии? сплющит вместе с водителем? 4 то же самое что и 2, но внешне отличается и скорость ниже. 5. грузовой веломобиль. уж сколько в "отсталом" союзе веломобили изобретали, сколько в Европе, а производители дураки всё велосипеды вместо веломобилей изготавливают. если уж нужно груз тягать, то может трехколесный (нормальный, а не детский) велосипед в этом плане лучше? 6 и снова то же самое что 1 и 3 по списку, веломобиль с электроприводом в кузове, а значит лишний вес, больше усилий крутить педали и больше расход аккумулятора. 7 электрический четырехколесный самокат с офигенной подвеской - вот это достойно. и хотя и против идиотов на электро-самокатах, но на таком по бездорожью с удовольствием погонял бы. 8 опять гибрид веломобиля с электрическим движком. выглядит конечно здорово, но выкиньте уже педали, сделайте просто электромобиль. 9 и 10 опять электромобиль на дорогах общего пользования? как у него с безопасностью во время аварий? Оглядываясь на прогресс развития обыкновенных автомобилей и безопасности в обыкновенных автомобилях видно, что безопасности в представленных в ролике транспортных средствах не уделено внимания вообще, я даже ни одного ремня безопасности не увидел. А что будет если в этого клопа въедет обыкновенный авто на скорости 110 км/ч? И это разработчики предлагают выпускать на дороги общего пользования?

    Some of these would be perfect as a Snap on Snap off Drone attachments. OK, so 99 % of cars have 1 person in them.... My concept of the perfect flying car is a "snap on snap off" 1 person 3 wheel lite weight electric golf cart with separate top fitting snap on drone. When you get close to where you fly into you can un snap the cart and drive to where you want to go. You own the cart but the drone is rented. Keep the cost low and let the drone attachment recharge. You will not get the same drone back each time as they are charging up. Lots of city Drone Ports and one at your house. 99% of people could afford this....! Keep it simple...... use what we have.... Cart battery used as back up to drone! Total disrupter to old fashion cars, highways and energy industries..... save environment at same time...???

    Not practical for rural applicatioNs it takes us any where from 1-3 plus hours to travel to local destinations at 60 mph or 100 kph They don’t convert to Highway travel and Lord help you in winds on a windy day keep trying

    While these are cool to look at the units of measure are meaningless to me. I don't do metric system. Since youtube is an International platform based out of the USA it'd be wise to include Imperial and metric data for your videos.

      Learn metric! Most of the world uses the best measurement system...1000 metres = 1 km, 1000 grams = 1 kg, etc. Water freezes at zero C and boils at 100. Perfect sense! (How many giraffe lengths is your car?)
