  • Calling a Navy Diver’s work environment unconventional is an understatement. From scouring the ocean’s darkest depths in the name of scientific research to supporting Special Warfare operations in tropical seas-your office is a vast, underwater landscape. Divers are trained to perform in unforgiving and extreme conditions, with no room for error. Our aircraft carriers and destroyers may be symbols of defense on the open sea, but our real strength operates beneath the waves. Find out more about life in the deep at bit.ly/2MikkNE.

Tip tip physical shape, 3.5 GPA, being able to to work underwater with less than a foot of visibility, then there’s pool week. Saying you can do it on a video game are the same people who can’t do it in real life.

The Navy diver is not a fighting man.
    He is a salvage expert.
If it’s lost, he finds it.
If it’s sunk, he brings it up.
If it’s in the way he moves it.
If he’s lucky, he dies young two hundred feet beneath the waves,
because that is the closest he will ever come to being a hero.
No one in their right mind would ever want the job,
    Or so they say.

Navy divers are qualified to dive to 300 feet of seawater in the conventional diving rigs. Navy saturation divers have reached depths of 1000 feet. That kind of pressure is not too much, but it is hard on the body.
