The Air 3 seems like a solid upgrade from the Air 2S, but many people miss the one inch sensor and 5k video from the older Air. But the camera on the Air 3 seems very good, at least the equal of the Air 2S or even better in many situations. Great review, and thanks for sharing.

See? I fly to look around, document and get photos cant get from ground, no acrobatics etc. just careful flying.
Hey Henrick, I too am wondering how to get screen recording to SD card. Guess it’s just a firmware update. Also the DJI Mic work with DJIRC2 I have tested this and works. Made a Short on it.
The one thing seems to be true...... DJI drones only get better from the day of release.
Most early review issue are resolved in updates,,,,,, well other than features we would like added.
And sometimes they even add some of those.

You said that with this C1 drone and an A1/A3 license in the EU lots of restrictions flying over people are reduced. What if you have an A2 license with the C1 classified Air 3?

You can preset waypoints before flying on the map even with the drone offline using the RC2.

Henrik, super fedt review! Er det så korrekt forstået, at efter 1. januar 2024 skal DJI Air 3 hverken holde 150 m. afstand til bygninger, eller overholde 1:1 sikkerhedszonen? Synes ikke rigtig at jeg kan finde et sted hvor det står skrevet?
The air 3 is very good. However…. You have to buy a 100w charger if you want full batteries quickly. It doesn’t come with a charger at all. Just a USB-C to USB-C cord. You need a charger for the battery pack and one for the controller. Walmart has a charger that has a USB-C cord in it along with a port to plug another cord in to. Cost about $40. You also need to go ahead and get a micro sdhc because the onboard memory is tiny. The controller can use a mem chip too if you want one.
Hi, good discussion. The Air 2s has an SDK available so it can be used for mapping using a app like Map Pilot Pro. However, IMO the Air 3 is the best consumer drone ever made.
Until you find out how weak it is on active track.

It's the most perfect drone I've ever flown. I love every feature on it. I wish the nd filters came with the fly more combo.

I've been very impressed with the Air 3. So much that I fly it more than Mavic 3 Pro. They gave us an amazing array of features AND while everyone argues about sensor size, they miss the.MAIN reason DJI used 2 MATCHING sensors:
By doing so, BOTH Air 3 cameras provide:
Access to ALL shooting modes (except panorama), ALL CODECS, LOG, and COLOR PROFILES, ALL Focus Track modes, on both cameras. Further, ALL flight modes, autonomous features, Mastershots/Quickshots/ Hyperlapse and a brilliant implementation of portrait/vertical shooting at 1x/3X also when digitally zoomed/cropped in.
DJI delivered a better balance of camera use on Air 3 than they did with Mavic 3's multi-sensor design. For 50% of the price!
Certainly not perfect. But for the TH-cam and Social media creator, show me a more "all around" capable drone. Go ahead. I'll wait 😂
Accessories also cheaper. Wide Angle Lens for Mavic 3 Pro cost me $179. For Air 3 its $59.
The Air 2 s has 5,4K Resolution. And with C2 you have distance to people 5/30Meters. 😉

Nice review, I still want one asap.. it looks awesome. However I am confused, even though as I am outside the EU it may not apply, you said that the active track must be within 50m of the controller but what if you was tracking another vehicle that your not in, say a boat from the shore.. how would that work?
Thats ONLY in the EU.

@hvee4 From CONTOLLER 💥✌🏽 They are killing recreational drone use in EU on purpose. 💥 The cultured Commies of The Frankfurt School (Kissingers home) don't want peasants having fun and being creative. They might get some ideas from Ukraine. 💥 Drone cameras are doomed long term. Only registered government approved businesses. 💥 Have fun while you can. Or buy a Mini III Pro which rocks.
I'll be honest, I thought about getting this drone, but I'm waiting to see if DJI comes out with an S version. I really like the battery life on the drone.

i‘m struggeling with one „issue“ of the file system …
as i love to import the photos and videos with an adapter directly into my iPad, i only see a „no photos to import“ comment using the photo app … with the files app i can watch and save them … but it‘s a lot of work to do so, sighting one after one, and choosing to save or not …
the file system of the Air 2S and the Mini 3 Pro still do the import 🤷🏼♂️
anyone else who struggels with this and maybe found a solution for ?

Fantastic insight as usual, Henrik. I doubt I'll ever own one of these (as I'm currently renewing the CARE Refresh for one more year on my AIR 2S). While the new features and improved tracking capability, along with its new 360° defenses against collisions, are a deal-sealer for most who are interested in 'upgrading' from, say, the "Mini 2/3 line", what stands out most for me is the STAGGERING video quality, processed by a sensor that is SMALLER than that of the AIR 2S! For me, this means that even greater things are coming - my AIR 2S still shoots amazing, beautiful aerial footage... no doubt DJI will stay focused on the success of this and it won't be long before we see the AIR 3 PRO or AIR 3S come to light. 😁

I think it’s a great drone that I would love to have, I am happy tho that I have my mavic mini but the only problem it it is really bad at flying in windy weather
I live on the side of the village with miles and miles of nothing else than fields so I have a lot of wind here
I am coming from the Mavic mini. It's a massive update in every single way compared to the mini. you wont regret it!

Actually it's 5m distance from people with the Mavic3pro (slow mode). But back to topic..
I changed from my loved Air2s to the Air3. I didn't regret it, it's an awesome drone. Personally I don't have a problem with the new sensor. I do a lot of landscape Panoramas, where I stitch multiple images anyway. Same with dynamic range, where I stack AEBs. So I guess a lot of critique comes from keyboard warriors that don't know too much about photography techniques or at least have different requirements than me.
But one the other side I have to admit, if DJI would give us a Mavic3pro"Dual", with 24 and 70mm lenses and C1, I would be first to sell the Air 3 for it 😅

It seems to be possible to create waypoints on a map before flying. Can you please comment on that🙂
I love your videos. However I have had the Air3 for about three weeks. I was keen to get into video and love to capture sunsets where I normally expose for the foreground then second image for the highlights in the sky. Same way as I did with the Mavic pro mark one. However the images in low light are crap. Noise and chromatic aberration is off the scale. Have tested this. I am concerned it maybe a fault with the software or the little sensor is just not up to it. I have a lot of experience as a photographer teaching Photoshop and photography. So I am upset with DJIs slow response. They informed me it I shot at 100 to 200iso there should be no noise. I sent DJI images but so far nothing.
Try to reset camera settings and then go from there. it might solve the problem.
@12vibaba tried it yesterday same crap. Noise and chromatic aberration is not good in any light worst in low light. Thanks for your reply.

I even looked back on some of your reviews where you literally cast aspersions on other reviews because they got the drone for free. How ironic.

That’s fine knock yourself out - nevertheless it turned out to be a lot different to work with them than I had anticipated. Maybe this is the reason channels change their perception when they do ;-)
@@TECHDRONEMEDIA Yup! It's Akzo the reason why I "defend" them when other channels attack them and call them "shills" or infer they are dishonest. Some of these guys I've known for several years and am very good friends with.
Really nice drone. To heavy, noisy, expensive and restricted for me. And worst of all, the RC 2 does not work with my Mini 3 Pro.
