I am so glad I met you bro…your a great guy and I’m sure everyone who watches your videos can tell just by your delivery. That’s one of the reasons people are subscribing. I agree with you on changing your oil frequently…I don’t even let my oil get dark! Can’t wait for our Dune trip!!! 💪🏻
Here is a 18 year raptor 700 review Pretty awesome review, I am going to add in my thoughts, I agree with pretty much everything you mentioned here. So a little about me I am Sam Burnham, I bought my very first atv at smokey point powersports in Washington state. That ATV was the Raptor 700 in July of 2006. Just last year after 17 years of riding, racing, mountain trails of walker valley, Sand dunes of Moses Lake, WA, Dumont Sand Dunes, mountains and high desert riding in red rock canyon, Dove Springs, Wagon wheel, Hare and hounds races, VXCS, a gncc race, atv mx national, won ATV B mx at 2017 socal summer series. atv mx in Virginia, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Straddaline Wa, Hannegan Speedway in Bellingham Washington and even Park city Kansas. I rode this ATV hard. big air Jumps, multiple big crashes, this thing took a beating. The engine went through and was on its 5th top nd. I will say I never split the cases in 17 years and never replaced the clutch. I have replaced the seat subframe about 6 times, the lower subframe twice and I think am on the 3rd oem swing arm. I dont know how many lower a-arms I went through before upgrading to Houser long travel with motowoz Shocks front and rear long travel. another great addition was Fast Flex bars and anti vibe steering stem. I never invested in the steering dampener though always had them recommended. I did have an issue with fowling spark plugs from the factory, but removing the spark arrestor and upgrading the air filter and removing the airbox lid stopped that. eventually went with yoshi PIM2 fuel controller and Yoshi full system exhaust.. the steal portion of the frame got welded back together 3 times in different places over the 17 years, but my last big air crash did to much to salvage the frame so it is finally getting retired. my biggest complaint over the years has always been the fenders. the rear fender in particular. in aggressive power sliding around corners I tend to get off the seat and sitting on the fender and this damages the plastic where the front fender meets the back pulling it way from the frame and digging into your riding boot. I am working on a design to fix this issue and give it a few nice touches. you can check it out on my you tube channel. But ultimately I love the raptor 700. I have never built the engine super crazy powerful with a web cam, 13.5-1 compression, stroker crank or any of that. My typical refresh was 11:1 piston stage 2 cam, that was about as crazy as I got with the engine and it was always super reliable, never an issue starting, or stalling on the line. I have played with gears ran as tall as 15:36 on various tire sizes. MX 15:36 did okay with 18 inch tires but it did hurt my acceleration out of the corners. with 20 inch tires top speed in 5th seems crazy fast. 15:38 is probably the best overall gearing that I was happiest with. I cant wait to get my Original 2006 back together in the mean time I have my project restore 06 700, a yfz450r and a YFM 200 blaster to keep me entertained. Hope you enjoyed this write up and will check out my channel. See everyone at the Midwest Raptor Rally May 17,18, and 19th 2024.
That's a terrific comment man. Thank you for that! It means a lot that you took that much time out to leave that lengthy of a comment on one of my videos. You sure put that Raptor through its paces I'm not sure another ATV could have survived. The Raptor is an amazing machine what I found most amazing about your comment was the fact that you never changed your clutch! That's a testament to your riding as well. I will certainly check out your video and I appreciate you stopping by. Look forward to seeing you in the comment section again. Keep the rubber side down 🤙🏻
Machines look great! Agree the Raptor 700R is prob the best "all around" sport quad ever built. Own a '21 700R-SE & '10 YFZ450R (low hrs). Orig owner of both. Only 1 complaint LOL 😆 that Tundra in your garage. Terrible 1/2 ton trucks. The worse out there. I went '20 F150 Raptor & never looked bk. Amazing truck. Ride for life!
@@OdysseyOffroad Good to hear ya got the Jeep Gladiator. It's an improvement. 😉 Was messing w/ya! I'm just a Ford truck guy thru & thru. Once you've owned one ya know. Have a '21 F150 Tremor. New subscriber bro! I know Pete Hager. Great guy. Mike Sabo is awesome too!
@@Davido50 I would have bought one if the dealerships weren't crazy and didn't have $10,000 markups on them haha they're expensive enough. Ford trucks are priiiiicey.. 🫣
Haha yea man it dont see mud much and im a clean freak. All of my stuff is this clean lol. Check out my latest video of me ripping this thing at the dunes!
@@TheATVWorldVideos yeah the mud the killer once it gets caked with mud it's so hard to get it back to original clean again. That being said some days I'll take a little mud over all the dust lol
No I actually bought the Yoshi over the monster and empire intentionally because I wanted it to sound good but not too obnoxiously loud and the Yoshi is the perfect compromise in sound in my opinion.

Awesome thanks for the update. Also, what is this ceramic detail spray you were mentioning? Seems like it's doing a good job keeping things shiny
Any ceramic or graphene detail spray will work I use mothers it's a green bottle. Its for automotive i use it on my cars too
You need to get a fuel customs intake k&n system
Hey nice bike bro what tire brand an sizes are you running on your bike?
Thanks they are gbc xc masters 20s rear 22 front
Nice man! Thing still looks like new.
thanks bro! helps it don't see much mud, but i am a but of a fanatic with my stuff lol
You thought about switching the yoshi for an empire or a monster exhaust?
No I actually bought the Yoshi over the monster and empire intentionally because I wanted it to sound good but not too obnoxiously loud and the Yoshi is the perfect compromise in sound in my opinion.
Can you wash under the seat with out damage to the components
Yes just block off the airbox. You dont want water getting in the intake.
@@OdysseyOffroad thanks man
Just ordered my 23 700r SE, any issues with the yoshi pipe? What programmer? I got the extended warranty does it void that? I don’t trust dealers
Yoshi pipe is top quality, no quality issues at all. I run a dynojet power commander 5 with it.
Where you get the bracket for license plate
They come with them from the factory.
@@OdysseyOffroad mmm mine doesn’t have that I had to replace my rear bumper and I never got anything like that
I just thought maybe you had to buy that parts since I see a lot of quads without license plates
@@JustABlackTacoma What year is yours Did you buy it new? They all come with them from the factory

Oil change every 10 hrs riden
Yup first few are most important in my opinion. Can go a little longer after that.
