Royal Enfield motorcycles seriously need to update its product quality check, also the products need to be properly designed before production and last but not the least the service Center mechanics need to be properly trained!

I worked in the quality control department of an engineering industry near Viralaimalai, Tamil nadu. I had many friends who had worked in the Royal Enfield (called enfield India those times) plant in a place called Singampunari nearby. which manufactured MOFA, the moped. That facility was closed down later. Those days , the word "Quality : was the last thing in any manager's mind. QC people were seen as enemies of production. The whole MOFA plant was closed only because of quality issues.

For sturdy wind visor, you should use the bajaj bushings instead of re stocks, the re bushings are not good in quality and with heavy wind the rubber tears off very fast. Use DL181010 BUSHING FROM BAJAJ as they are lil better and harder so windshield stays sturdy and holds well in heavy wind or at 110_115 km/hr speed.

your going to red line the bike to the limiter what do you expect ! I will however check all you have pointed out
on delivery and complain immediately if i come across anything concerning , but i am a hands on person any small
    annoyances i will sort myself.

Hello, firstly thanks for sharing these insightful points.
I recently booked a Himalayan, and I'm expecting to take delivery of it in mid September, frankly I chose it ahead of the KTM 390 adventure simply because of value for money.
After watching this video, I am thinking if I'm getting the desired quality for the money we pay. I am at a juncture where I can cancel my booking and still go for the KTM 390 adv.
Do you recommend switching? I previously owned a TB350, although I loved the bike, I thought the quality for the money was not up to the mark

I think issues are there but all can taken care by any local/ road side mechanic.
This is not possible with foreign brands.
If you are touring any remote area you can easily find RE mechanic but for KTM you need to showroom.
But both the bikes have much price difference. Take what you can afford and what you like.

The gaps in front of the handle bar clamp are no manufacturing defects but how you clamp the handlebar down to its base. Some manufacturers have them evenly spaced, on Suzukis and Husqvarnas you will find this gap at the other side facing the rider as the two forward facing screws are tightened first as per manual.

Good one Bro! It really helps everyone to look at these aspects! For 2.5 lacks, quality should be top notch for the major components....hope RE will look at it soon n rectify!! 👍🙏🙏🙏

I think out of your 10 points only 6th and 7th point makes sense. Rest all points are most common in all bikes. There frames are welded separately, so there are high chances that there may be some mm differences. By the way good observation.

Now this is called quality content. I think I have watched all of the major review channels for this bike but your 10 mins were more useful than all of them combined. I'm curious to know if RE fixed all the issues mentioned in your video before you took delivery? Thanks again for the heads up.

For now they have resolved engine oil leakage issue by replacing the engine itself . Other issues remain the same. They have told me that they have escalated all the issues to the head office in Chennai

I have two himalayan and one electra and I know what are issues and what are not valid points. Great you work in product development. I'm from designing background so I too know what is wrong and what is not. Paying 2.4L is lot. But as you said your background is product development you should check this before delivery.
