    The other day, I timed myself while putting a jar of chili paste in the fridge. In a normal fridge, you open the door, put the jar on the shelf, & close the door...BOOM, 2 seconds. It took me 48 SECONDS to put the jar in my van fridge! I put jars on the very bottom of my fridge to ensure they're on a flat surface and don't fall over and spill, so I have to remove everything from the top to put the jar on the bottom and then put everything back on top and hope that my fridge door closes because it barely fits all of the food I buy. It's a whole process 🙄and I still haven't gotten used to it.

      How about getting wire bins from the dollar store? Then the items on top are contained and you’ll just lift them out? Might cut it down to 23 seconds! 😂

    I want more days like this in my life, too. Knowing about van life struggles upfront definitely helps, but you never know for sure what you can tolerate until you experience it firsthand. Constantly moving things from one side to the other would frustrate me! I love your simple, slow, vlogs. They're relaxing. See you next week!

    Yeah, I feel like I made my passion for creativity and writing into a job. Ended up being a burned out social media manager. I would never go for making my passion a job anymore. It's a sure fire way to turn a love into a hate.

    I love watching your videos so much. I just wish they were longer, so therapeutic and healing for me personally. It is my dream to have a more self-sufficient life, not being so dependent on the 9-5 sort of lifestyle, but I live in Jamaica, it's a bit harder here to have this lifestyle, for more reasons than one, but I will acquire it within the next 2 years. I am making the changes little by little to start building on my land, then start my own little business, grow most of what I consume, and eventually go completely off grid. This is my greatest desire🙏🙌🦋
    All the best to you and to everyone else whose desire is to become so self-sufficient and free from this musical chairs system💫

    Monique,
    I so enjoy your videos and have followed many vanlifers. What I like about your channel is how simply you live while on the road. You park, you cook, you indulge in self-care, watch movies and you do gig work.
    A few questions I have for you are:
    1) Do you know where you would like to buy land?
    2). How long will it take you to save for the downpayment, pay cash for the land, rent to own/for sale by owner?
    3) Other than gigwork and YT as sources of income, any thoughts on marketing yourself as a chef for your type of client to move your desired goal along? Ever though of starting an online cooking show or even creating a cookbook or 2 or 3 of your special dishes?

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for your kind words 😊.
      1) I have no clue. I'm planning to explore the northeast in a few months, but at this moment, I have no particular states I'm looking into. I'm looking into other countries, as well, like Chile, Peru, & Nigeria. I'm all over the place right now.
      2) I'm thinking 5-7 years, but I really have no clue, lol. I'm just winging life right now and not trying to stress myself out by creating an unnecessary timeline.
      3) I have absolutely NO desire to work as a professional chef anymore! Not even an online cooking class. I'm currently working on an online business, separate from YT. If it works out, I might mention it on the channel, but I like to keep a lot of my endeavors quiet until I've accomplished most of what I want to accomplish.
      I DO want to make a cookbook in the future. Right now, I'm focusing on my other business goal.

      @@simmpleenough you are welcome! You are so deserving of living and creating your desired lifestyle with Moosa!
      It all sounds great!
      It’s been my experience when setting clear goals this gives you a benchmark with which to follow a path. So setting deadlines or dates, and achieving little milestones and measuring them helps you to stay on track. Even if you have to set another benchmark, you still measure your progress along the way.
      Set deadlines, dates and run towards
      your goals:)

    Thank you for your truth about working your passion and losing live for it working for others. My goal echos yours...living independent of others, saving for land I can host and produce whatever I want, when I want, for who I want. And having it be slow and steady instead of a hustle to keep up with bills and life.
    May we both realize our dreams and desires. For what we seek is seeking us.

    I feel the same way about working...I've had so many crappy jobs, and now I have so many health issues. I need to focus on losing weight and I want to travel. I plan on trying to do van life because I can no longer afford rent, it's over $900 for a crappy studio or 1 bedroom apt in Phoenix and I know it's just as bad in places like the NW which is where I would prefer to be, I hate this damn heat...I lost everything back in 2018/2019 due to nearly going blind for the 2nd time in my life, then got them fixed and next thing I knew, people started noticing my photography...telling me I had the "eye" for it and it is actually what I'm passionate at so now I am pursuing that but it's a very difficult thing to make money at. All I know is I want to do something similiar to you and now I'm waiting to see if I get approved for disability but due to my age, it will not be enough by itself and I will also be doing gig work or freelance if I can ever get some work like that. The future is so uncertain in this country as well, I want to be as self sufficient as possible so I hope one day to not depend on my disability if I get approved. I know a person in northern cali who will let me park and stay from time to time and hopefully I can meet other like minded people along the way.

      Rent prices are insane these days 🙄. I hope things work out with your photography. If we never stop trying to reach our goals, success will eventually be the end result. It might not happen exactly how we planned it, but it'll happen. That's what I tell myself, often. Best of luck to you.

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When I’m able to pray standing, I do. I’m currently traveling and camping in areas with a lot of privacy, so I stand outside for my prayers. There are other situations when I’m in the city and not near a masjid & I don’t feel safe praying outside alone, so I pray in the julūs position in my van. Or, I might go into the dressing room of a nearby Walmart and pray. I was concerned about this when I started living in vehicles, so I’ve spoken to someone more knowledgeable than me about it and was told it was okay because of the lifestyle I currently live. But it was reinforced that, when able, I should always stand, so that is what I try to do.
