    This is lovely! I started out with a 2013 transit connect. That was the last year they made it with the higher roof. Your video brings back warm memories of it❤. I share your sentiments about plastic water containers (actually plastic ANYTHING!). Here’s an idea for you for filling your 10 gal stainless steel container….get 2 of those collapsible 5 gal water bubbles. Use them to fill at the store and immediately transfer water to your stainless container. The water bubbles (that’s not what they are called, but it does describe them!) fold up small so they don’t take up too much space when not in use. Actually, you could just buy 1 and make 2 water run trips. Don’t give up on stainless steel. Plastic is poison! Anyway, thanks for posting your tour and happy and safe travels to you!

    • @strawberryroad1347
      @strawberryroad1347 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I just bought one of those bubbles, and it's actually really good, because it folds away when empty, and it can be pushed down in funny places, because it's moldable..
      It seems like it might pop😅 which is a bit scary, but for now, it's been really sturdy.. 😊

    • @freeinFL
      @freeinFL ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@strawberryroad1347 I’m so glad you are giving it a try. The one I had years ago was very thick/heavy gauge. Maybe they’ve cheapened them up nowadays (like so many other products!). Thanks for following up! Nice 😊

    I live in a small town. The other day I saw a transit connect.
    On Your videos Your van looks a lot longer inside.
    The build is also very nice. Surprisingly You managed to get everything including the kitchen sink in there.
    It does not look crowded. Me I would never at least a minivan.
    I'm off the grid electrically --(is that a word?)
    I have 600w of solar.
    My refrigerator is a 12vdc. It's the size of Your's, it has two doors.
    Plus I can get an optional battery to insert into it.
    Well My Young Sister I will close this before it turns into a book.

    Monique, your refrigerator is not broken it’s not a faulty refrigerator. It’s hot so it makes it pull more. If you build an insulated box for it will work more than enough. It’ll freeze your ice cubes in one day not even a day like an hour. Try that you tried everything else why not build an insulated box for it to sit inmake sure the vents are cut out the space for the vents

    Put an rv water fill in the white cabinet between the tank and the door.
    Run pvc pipe to the fill on the tank.
    Open the door fill the tank with a garden hose.
    Tank never needs to move.
    I would fit the fill pipe solid to the tank with a vent line following the fill pipe to the fill opening

    Two little suggestions-#1 where you velcroed the hanging shoe bag you might have more luck with magnets. Glue them on or secure them by sewing them on under a little patch pocket. #2 You can change up your couch look with a duvet cover from Goodwill or Savers. It looks like you got it going on girl 😊 Yeah for the bookcase!Books make it a home. I like the open kitchen shelves.

    Nice to see you! Usually I don't watch van tours anymore but yours looked so organized I had to see! haha! I am also planning on getting a van. I did a 2 week car life journey and while it made for great content, it ended in disaster...my car broke down on the way home and I also lost it due to a title loan I took out to fund part of that journey...it also left me jobless due to me being a delivery driver! I'm starting school soon for graphic design in advertising (and maybe my own other ventures) so I'm hoping to maybe get enough funding that I can also get a van (nothing fancy and new like yours...unfortunately) so that I can basically have my own place...and, of course, travel. Doing school online will have to do while I get myself settled...and while traveling it should be ok, hopefully. I just cannot afford rent! This inflation is making it IMPOSSIBLE for people that aren't making a ton to even have a place to live!

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've met a few graphic designers and there seems to be great potential to make good income in that industry. And online school is perfectly fine to me! If I ever went back to school, that's how I'd choose to do it. Your plan sounds solid!

    THIS is the kind of build what I would expect from the vast majority of people living in their vans. You know the kind of builds where the conversion didn't cost as much or more than the amount they paid for the van itself.
    I think that living in your car trained you on how to live "small," so you were able to make common sense decisions.

    I walk the halls of my elementary school when I get a moment. No big deal. Nothing exciting...until today!! One of the maintenance men had backed up into the side driveway. We're having leak issues in one of the pipes so they had to come out to look.
    So I turn the corner & head down the first hall and what do I see?? A TRANSIT!! I felt like the old 'Mission Impossible' TV series. I look left. Then I look right. Then I look straight ahead!
    The maintenance guy must have already gone to one of the mechanical rooms to see where the leak was coming from. I'm thinking, since we have five mechanical rooms, he should be busy for a while trying to figure it out.
    So I'm literally outside sizing up the van. I'm putting myself next to his driver's side door to get a feel for how it might be if I were to drive one of these. Then I look through his back window, and I'm trying to imagine where I might put a bed, where I might have my kitchen sink, maybe even doing a small little fold-out rack for some clothes. The possibilities are endless!
    Then I'm backing up, just taking notes and I feel the hair on my neck standing up.... he's been standing there the entire time! 😆
    He's got this HUGE grin on his face & tells me I'm not the first one he's seen sizing it up!😂
    Oh, the possibilities! I'm looking to weekend van lifing, but thank you for letting me tag along 😊

    Great job and utilization of space. I've been living in my GMC Savana cargo van for two years and love it. Like you I do not want to go back living inside of four walls. I just returned from a three month tour of the coastal Highway 101 from Northern California up to Washington. I was asked to leave a parking lot once in two years. Most times I park on quiet residential streets next to apartment complexes or along a fence line next to a home. I arrive in the dark and leave early in the morning. I received one ticket in San Diego but I neglected to read signs nearby. Good luck in your new home on wheels. Stay safe. Listen to your gut feeling.
