Have seen your reactions with Pentatonix, my second favorite music group, Angelina being number 1, and always enjoyed your reactions and comments. This young lady who is now 16 and with Republic Records, though not promoted yet as her parents wish her to finish school first, will undoubtedly shake up the mundane boring current music that is out there IMHO. At 7 years old, one of the jury members of Norway got talent said that Angelina was "The music" during her interpretation of "Gloomy sunday" at the level of Billie Holiday. Quincy Jones invited her to open for his anniversary concert in London in 2018. Norah Jones congratulated her at a joint concert in asia. She has a superb voice but also great originality in her arrangements.

While she did attend an after-school music class, she has always maintained that she taught herself to sing. I agree. Since you listened to Cakra Khan's version, try Angelina's. It was recorded from the audience on a phone, so the recording quality is not great, but I compare it to a unicorn sighting. You're "lost in the wilderness" when you see a unicorn. So you get some video, but no one believes it because unicorns don't exist. Except they do, and Angelina is one.

Angelina's voice is like a river of dark chocolate, sometimes wild and crashing over rocks in impressive cascades, sometimes flowing, twisting and twirling, and sometimes slowly and drowsly moving through the backwaters, but always deliciously tasty. She always sing like she feel and really mean the lyrics. As for suggestions, maybe her cover of Billie Jean. It was the first time I really listened to the text (English is not my native language, so that might be part of the reason).

Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s version of “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong. Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down. Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan. Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions. At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities. There are two performances I would like you to react to. Angelina Jordan (16 this January) was 13 at the time of this performance. She had, at the age of 7, auditioned for the 2014 season of Norway's Got Talent. She won. Today, Angelina has performed 120 covers, and has 3 originals. The first performance is her black and white studio performance of "I Put a Spell on You" (Screamin' Jay Hawkins, 1956). At 9 years and 2 weeks old, Angelina had arranged the music for the band, her lyrics, and gave a performance that shouldn't be possible for a 9 year old girl. Many have said she has a very old soul when it comes to music. The second piece I would love to get your reaction to is her audition for America's Got Talent the Champions, where she sings her own unique arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Queen, 1975). Not only did she receive a golden buzzer, advancing her to the finals, she got a tweet from Queen for her rendition. It might not be in the top 50 - I just know that it is rarely reviewed. I hope that you enjoy her music enough to routinely react to her nearly 170 song catalog. While she did attend an after-school music class, she has always maintained that she taught herself to sing. I think that Angelina is as proof that a reasonable person needs to say that we don't come into this world as a blank slate. She has covered many of the greats from jazz, blues, soul, pop, rock, and country (140+ are available for viewing) and has several original performances. She speaks at least 3 languages. She has helped raise millions of dollars for charities around the world, mostly aimed at children, performed at the Nobel Prize ceremonies and for heads of State, won Norway's Got Talent and landed a deal with Republic Records that gives her an extraordinary amount of control over her creativity (She has always arranged her own music). Oh, and she is a published author.

Why does Angelina sing barefoot?
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and promised she would never again wear shoes while performing until all children of the world had shoes! At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina penetrates hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. I agree. Since you listened to Cakra Khan's version, try Angelina's. It was recorded from the audience on a phone, so the recording quality is not great, but I compare it to a unicorn sighting. You're "lost in the wilderness" when you see a unicorn. So you get some video, but no one believes it because unicorns don't exist. Except they do, and Angelina is one.

Angelina's voice is like a river of dark chocolate, sometimes wild and crashing over rocks in impressive cascades, sometimes flowing, twisting and twirling, and sometimes slowly and drowsly moving through the backwaters, but always deliciously tasty. She always sing like she feel and really mean the lyrics. As for suggestions, maybe her cover of Billie Jean. It was the first time I really listened to the text (English is not my native language, so that might be part of the reason).

Here is an introduction to Angelina for you and your viewers who might not be familiar with her.
Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s version of “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong.
Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World.
After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down.
Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan.
Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions.
At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities.
Angelina Jordan has about 160 songs in her repertoire. In 2020 she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. She will wow and surprise you all the time. 16 years old today who is an excellent role model for today’s youth and her best is yet to come.

Angelina has a strong jazz influenced background ! Her rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody " on America's Got Talent in 2020 was a masterpiece ! She arranged this original take on this classic song that was mind-blowing for a 13 year girl ! You know what I love about Angelina? When she sings she puts her whole soul into the song and it shows in her face and eyes and then when I watch you guys watching her as she sings she pulls your soul out as well as she does mine. That is a gift.

There are two performances I would like you to react to. Angelina Jordan (16 this January) was 13 at the time of this performance. She had, at the age of 7, auditioned for the 2014 season of Norway's Got Talent. She won. Today, Angelina has performed 120 covers, and has 3 originals. The first performance is her black and white studio performance of "I Put a Spell on You" (Screamin' Jay Hawkins, 1956). At 9 years and 2 weeks old, Angelina had arranged the music for the band, her lyrics, and gave a performance that shouldn't be possible for a 9 year old girl. Many have said she has a very old soul when it comes to music. The second piece I would love to get your reaction to is her audition for America's Got Talent the Champions, where she sings her own unique arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Queen, 1975). Not only did she receive a golden buzzer, advancing her to the finals, she got a tweet from Queen for her rendition. Here are the links:
