I built mine as as a 2LT with just the right options......then I closed the browser and went back to my reality of not being able to afford one. I do this every day. 😭
This car is for sure worth ever penny. I can not believe what Chevy has done for such a price. This is truly a super car that an average person can buy. Amazing and I want one!
@@kylekotecha153 it seems like most people are selling their scats, hellcats, camaros and even people who have owned GT350s for a C8. I am not surprised one bit
Yes, it was worth it!!! I just priced a 2LT and a 3LT with the same options. The difference in price was $3,077 more for the 3LT because some options you pay for on the 2LT are standard on the 3LT.
Very comprehensive review of options. Lack of the Rearview Mirror Camera in the 1LT even as an extra-cost option is inexcusable with the blind spots this car has. This is a major safety concern and should be standard in all models even if this requires a price bump. I think more people would go for the 1LT if they could get this camera. I agree Universal Remote Control should be standard in 2020 in a $60K+ vehicle. 2LT is expensive upgrade, but lots of goodies. Great value!
If the camera mirror came with the 1LT, a lot of folks would buy the 1LT... correct. But that would likely takes sales away from 2LTs, and thus lower rev and margin for Chevy... so not likely to happen for a few model years.
I have a Z51 on the way. I placed the order as a 2LT. Before the order was picked up by GM, I changed it to a 3LT and added the dual roof option. Chaching. It’s only money.
Thanks again for great video. Taking the time explaining the different options is most appreciated. Also, for those out on a limb, having to make the choice, you explain the emotions, and why the higher level interiors are going to make a impact on you every time you drive the car.
Honestly a fair and a great job differentiating between the packages. Also thanks to your video I am going to upgrade to the carbon fiber package. I think it looks great in your car.
I've had a Bose Acoustic Wave II music system for many years, and it still sounds fabulous. Bose may not be the best audio system around since the death of founder Armand Bose, but the company still makes superb sounding audio products.
Here's the thing about Bose speaking as someone who's done live and studio audio for years. For a car, and for the majority of people who either do not have trained ears or are simply older and didn't take the best care of their hearing (most people over 40 can't hear above 15kHz), this is a perfectly fine system and usually designed to bolster frequencies that are commonly lost. This is why audio engineers commonly joke "pinchy highs, muddy lows, nothing in between it must be Bose". If you've been in the recording industry or are a skilled musician used to playback on studio monitors, yes you will notice a quality difference. However I've gotten used to the system in my Cadillac which is very similar to the 14 speaker system in the C8. While I find some things lacking here and there (no multiband EQ), most of the big gaps in response, definition and range are not from the system itself but from the lossy content like streaming audio (pandora, spotify, etc) or digitally compressed audio from Sirius/XM. At CD quality it will take skilled ears to notice the deficiencies in the system and even then you will notice every other noise before then. In other words I would not worry about the quality of this system, it's pretty good.
My 2011 CTS-V has a 10 speaker Bose, It's Ok, My 2013 Audi S5 has a Bang Olufsen ( I think 10 speaker) which is awesome. I would love to hear the new Bose system in the 2LT C8.. Thanks for the video. I'm all in for a 2LT waiting for the Z06!
Thank you for this comprehensive review. I appreciate your work and time spent producing it. I live in Tucson and debating if the Z51 is worth getting if I do not track the car. The 2021 can be ordered with magnetic ride now. It the additional cooling, slip differential etc...worth while when the summer heat reaches 115-120 F? My inclination is ro get the upgrade. But at $6000 I am debating if it’s worth it.
Joe Field it’s a great question and hard to answer... if you never track the car it’s doubtful you would need the extra cooling. You would have to drive really hard on public roads to even get to the point if possible issues. I would say actually high heat like that in stop and go traffic would be your worst scenario. No airflow moving through the car. I have noticed that the hottest temps I see is when the car isn’t moving. Even pushing the car hard but getting good airflow keeps everything in check. But I do have the z51 package.
Are the GT1 seats more comfortable for daily driving than the GT2 seats assuming they are both in a 2LT? I'm considering the LT3 but I can't choose GT1 seats and if they are more comfortable that's more important to me.
thanks I was trying to convince myself to pony up the $7300 for the upgrade, thanks to your video I can't justify it. Definitely get the Z51peformance package that's 6k.
Super well done. Thanks. You forgot to add the trim price points summary at the end. Keep the vids coming. Maybe you could explain the 4 different suspensions next? Would love to know the engineering detailed specifications ( springs, shocks, sway bars, geometry, traction management, etc) to know which one to choose? e.g. FE2 vs FE4?
Not enough information on prices, and you NEVER mentioned the auto- lift which I think you need 2lt to get ! Also, can you get the red stitching in 2lt ? Finally, I believe the convertible is a must ( it saves the $$ for motor paint) & although I like it I would never pay $600 for painted brake calipers ! Thanks
Thanks for the video. Appreciate the time and effort you put into it. May have a bit of a correction for you: I believe Napa leather is available on 2LT trim - which I am getting - as well as 3LT....? (Sorry if I misinterpreted, but it sounded as if you were saying it was only available on 3LT).
jdcinsb thanks for the comment! I may have mis worded it. I meant to say that with 2LT you don’t automatically get the GT 2 seats which is Napa. You do have to pay to upgrade which you certainly can. With 3LT it comes automatic. But I do see what you mean about sounding confusing!
Shocks dont tighten but they are pretty dialed in from factory. Magride is more for your ride to feel less stiff as the metal balls are adjusting to the road every millisecond. The standard shocks are basically in sport at all times
Great video and very informative! I've been eyeing the 3LT and I think it would definitely be worth it. Just subscribed and looking forward to future content!
I ordered a 3LT without MagRide... I haven’t hit my allocation yet so I could make the change. My build is already at $93k and I need to cut off the spending at some point as I know there’s still PPF and exhaust spending to come later. Do you know if there will there still be a big difference in ride control w/o MagRide? {great channel BTW}
I totally understand the pricing getting out of hand due to options. I will say in my opinion magnetic ride is worth every penny. If you have never driven one with it, go to the dealer and ask to drive a C7 with magnetic ride and one without it. Helps you understand how amazing the technology is!
