Hi Scott, just came across your channel, I have trained and flown a Kestrel, Common Buzzard and Harris Hawk, my dad years ago had Goshawk imported from Germany, trapped raiding a hen house, that bird took some training if it was ever trained lol, my favourite book "Falconry and Hawking" by Philip Glasier.

@@scotthendersonKoiAndHawks No, but I keep thinking about it, I'm retired now, so plenty of time on my hands, possibly a Harris Hawk, my last one was such a delight caused me no stress what so ever, unless I flew her too heavy and she'd sit in a tree "fed up" 🤣
I do while I'm around but there is a hatch door I shut over the window once I leave should of mentioned that in the video thanks for pointing that out 👍
Ahh I'm not to sure about usa you have different laws you could probly try and find a mentor who will help you along also with a mentor your can trap a wild bird to tain and fly
I sore a bird fall off a building in leeds city centre. it hit the ground on headrow a few days ago I was driving so could not stop but it was shocking I dont know if the bird died it was a very big bird like buzzard size as a photographer of wildlife was very upsetting to see. Dont know why it happened.
Yes we started talking about this on gaz's live. for a bird to just drop out of the sky and was not hunting prey all I can think of is there is alot of bird flu going round wich takes control of the bird and eventually kills them. It spreads like wild fire
