  • We're hunting hares on farmland in Lincolnshire with Eagle falconer Roy Lupton and his friends. The first days provides some stunning footage of a hare which turns and faces the incoming eagle, escaping the razor sharp talons with perfect timing. There are plenty of other impressive flights and eventually the golden eagles find their quarry.

    Both are the same in my opinion. Nature gives both predator and prey the tools they need for the job, as stated in the video. The predator has a chance of making the kill, the prey has a chance to escape. It can't get more humane than this.

    Its to keep the bird calm while transporting. If you didnt have the raptor's eyes covered, they would be distracted and probably hurt themselves trying to fly off of the falconers arm or perch. Much like crocodiles having their eyes covered it is suppose to calm them.

      You do know they're not talking about the fact they want to get their own meat, but the fact that it's hunting for sports, not for population control or anything like that? I totally admire hunting with birds and animals, but seriously, if you're going to try and make a dumbass out of someone, at least actually direct your supposed argument towards their own argument, and not make up stuff. If anything, this shows you clearly don't understand anything anyone is saying.

    Eagles are beautiful.. I have a great respect for Hares, it's a very very clever and courageous animal, a reak athlete able to escape from talented and numerous predators like fox eagles dogs wisel etc. One day I meet a dude, a old hunter who just like to be alone in the nature with his dog. He was convinced that some hares or maybe all was able to minimise their own smell near a predator

    Equally matched fights, one of the fastest land creatures vs one of the best air to ground birds of prey, the eagle has the hares on speed but you can't say the hare didn't give it a fighting chance(unlike when they are just shot).

    This is beautiful. If you ask me I think this shows the bond between the eagles and their owners. Each one hunting together and helping each other. The eagle hunts and their owners enhance the eagles tools (the beak, wings, and talons) and they get praised and fed for even trying to hunt.

    One of the most amazing maneuvers I've seen in my life. He turns around, knows the eagle is coming, does a mini jump (or step) to set up a high jump. Once he jumps high he steps on the eagle (that just got to him at like what? 60 mph? More maybe) and does a second jump, thus getting out of the way and beating the eagle. Holy shit man

  • @grantp4022
    @grantp4022 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Best birds for hunting hares are really hawks, and falcons, as they are smaller
    and faster, allowing them way more agility. The Eagles catch the odd one though,
    but I think they only get 1 in 80 attempts. Not good odds for the Eagles. Hawks
    success ratio is a lot higher, and same with falcons.
    A 2 lb hawk can bring down a 6 lb hare ( jack rabbit) and kill it, but it takes a lot
    of time as they don't have the power in the talons like the Eagles, but they get
    the job done. A hawk has about 200 PSI and Golden Eagles 700 PSI.
