Dick Mann was a cool dude. Meeting him, and riding with him will always be one of my favorite memories of my motorcycle life. Despite his place in the history of motorcycle racing and development, despite his knowledge and accolades, he still treated fools like me with respect and kindness. He was quick to laugh, and quick to offer his sage advice. He was a good man. We've lost one of the most important figures in American motorcycle history. Rest in peace Bugsy.

Probably one of if not the rarest factory flat tracker available to the public. The DMR even came out before the Bultaco Astro and this frame was their inspiration. If you look at the geometry of a bultaco astro frame it's very similar other than the bultaco is a single down from the stem and the ossa is a double down (because of exhaust placement) and the swing arm was round instead of boxed like a champion frame (which ossa took inspiration from) very interesting bike. Hopefully you keep it in your collection as is. No need for a restoration unless you could get original used / NOS parts which would be neat impossible considering how many of these bikes were ever produced.

You guys gave a respectful and informative presentation of a motorcycle riding/racing legend. I've watched Bugsy race at Ascot Park back in the 60's.

Well I've got a DMS TT MK4. I've seen three others. The MK4 was basically Mann's XR500 frame altered for the TT/XT. Mr Mann told me that the MK4 frame was made 80/81. Know of a DR370 DMS roller in the UK. Never seen a MK3 TT bike. Not quite sure if the 200 referred to all six models.

Just wondering if anyone was at VMD flat track in Ohio many years ago when they had Dick Mann do a parade lap on his BSA and the rear wheel fell completely off while he was riding down the straightaway!
