QuikClot and Kerlix are both excellent products that are often used along with an Emergency Bandage to stop severe hemorrhage wounds. Various combinations of products are used depending on medical protocols and situations.
I make it a point to hand these out to fellow hunters and fishermen, particularly any guides I know. I hope I never personally see again some of the days we wish we had these on hand, but reality tells me that someone I meet will so spreading the word seems to be a responsibility to me.
That depends on the situation, the caregiver, the wound, protocols, etc. The Emergency Bandage is made to stop bleeding immediately in traumatic wounds. Often times users do not have time to clean the wound prior to application.
Thanks for making this video! I was debating buying one of these for carrying around with me just in case and was afraid that it would be too hard to use but I can see that it's not.
In most situations you may not have time to cut clothing away. In the military that is not always an option in combat. In EMS or other civilian sectors this is often possible. Always check with the protocols of your department or service.
Thanks for the video, this is by far the best one I have seen on the use of the Izzie. (The 'virtual display' gag at the beginning is a little distracting, I almost stopped at that point, thank you for not continuing it.)
Thank for the quality video. I usually watch skinny medic’s videos when it come to description and application videos but this one is just as good if not better. Well done.
Great video. I've used this bandage for years. But for the abdominal wound demo it would had been better to use a patient on his back. No patient will want to stand after a GSW.
Great video but nothing showing to use the plastic wrapper for a chest wound? This product has two real good pieces of plastic to use for the thru and thru.
what about foreign objects? eg shrapnel, dirt or glass? because as I have been taking courses we have been told to work around knifes and glass and things and they will later be surgically removed. but are there any exceptions to the rule?
I am a live saver from Germany and we got two of these bandages. Thanks for that video because now i know some more usages. But we got some problem by buying this. Try to explain our customs officials why you import this :DD. We did not found a german seller.

Great item, great information, great demonstration. I just can't deal with the fake touchscreen interface the host keeps using.
Someone saved my life with one of these. I thought it appropriate to purchase one and learn to use it. This is a great tutorial. Thanks.

This is absolutely fascinating. I agree that this would be a smart part of any emergency/first aid/vehicle kit. Well done.

Do you have to cut clothing out of the way for a bandage like this to work properly, or does it not matter?
