A great job mate. Unfortunately well beyond my capabilities. I'm currently looking for an aluminium fuel tank for a Royal Enfield 650 GT but I've yet to find one. The original steel tank weighs exactly 6kg, based on the density of steel being 7750kg/m^3 and that of aluminium being 2710kg/m^3 I expect a weight saving of around 2.1kg.
This is my tank that Dave fabricated for me when ethanol finally crapped out my original fiberglass Dunstall tank. I can't tell you how pleased I am at the quality of the finished product....it's absolutely perfect. In fact, when I put the original fiberglass tank and the new alloy tank side-by-side, you simply can't tell the difference between the two. Thanks so much, Dave...you're an amazing artist!!
Yes. All the originals were fiberglass however the new fuels turn them soft. The bikes are worth so much now that it’s worth investing in a tank that will last virtually forever. Especially if you ride and enjoy it!

Fantastic work, the BSA B25 tank is my favourite tank of all time, blue/white with gold/red badges, it just looks like a motorcycle tank should, IMO

siempre debe trabajar con el metal en su condición más blanda y nunca ablandarlo por segunda vez.

How much weight was saved by going from a steel tank to an aluminium one ?
Usually they’re half the weight of steel or fiberglass give or take 10%.
