I mowed with my FW15 for the first time yesterday. Lawn was a full week of overgrowth as I was trying to grow out some fungus. I cut at 3". I went from using a honda hrx 21" to a 36" Scag walk behind, now to the FW15. I only use it for my yard, and so far I am highly impressed with it. I highly recommend the caster model. Although it easily tips back, having casters made turning and following my bed edges a breeze, I wouldn't want this mower without them. My yard has a fairly steep hill that also is not level across, so i'm battling two pitches. I had no issues with controlling speed on the downhills, and does a good job going up as well. (Even with the full grass packer, although there was a noticeable difference as it filled up) I did need to muscle it a bit on some of the steeper sloped sections in order to keep straight lines, (especially when grass packer was full) this is where a dual hydro would be ideal. I was able to attach a Grass Packer to the side with having to only drill one additional hole. I don't think I'll be keeping that though. I'm not sure how I feel about all the weight on the deck, as its fairly thin compared the scag. It also made turning and holding a straight on the hills way more challenging as it filled up. Really wish Ferris would get the mulch kits out. Thanks for your videos.

Suited for that type of terrain. I live in Texas and we do not have hills like this so no need to sink $3500 into this mower. My Timemaster 30 works just fine on the jobs I do and it's easy to work on them vrs the Ferris or Snapper FW15, yes Snapper makes the same model only the label is different. My only suggestion for people in states that have yards with hills like this is tell the owners to landscape using railroad ties to build up the banks and then have a flat surfaced yard to maintain. Makes it a helluva lot better and a lot safer for lawncare.

OK, I'm jealous (sorry, I had to put it out there,LOL), and utterly impressed by this mower. MAybe even impressed enough to take the plunge, finance it and find few of those larger yards where this mower would make a difference over my Honda 21" and therefore worth the buy and pay itself out... OK, I'm day dreaming a bit, but my god how that beast cuts...

This small of a deck with a gxv390 is overkill power wise, which is awesome. I've been mowing big hills as needed with my 1994 exmark 36" and kawasaki fc420v for 20 years. It's a real monster as it's only pulling 2 18" blades. It's a full dual hydro and I've pulled cars with it up hills. This ferris is sweet. Too bad they couldn't fenaggle some kind of rear bagger on it, if they did I would buy it to replace my exmark 30" (although I replaced the kawi 180cc with the kohler 224 for more power)

I’ll just stick with my Exmark Commercial 30”. It looks like a sweet mower, but for that price I’d rather buy a Scag 36” or Exmark Tracer 36” powered by the FX Series Kawasaki. My Exmark 30” would climb the hill using the same amount of effort used. Good video tho, many people will appreciate seeing that, just as I. Thanks

Fw15 bags to the side. Exmark rear bags which is ideal for me since i have many obstacles. If you aren't happy with the 30, invest in a kohler cv224. It's literally a bolt-on and the power difference is life changing, especially for wet grass where the fc180 really struggled

I have an FW15 and am looking for gator blades for it. They don't have to be Oregon Gator Blades, could be Fisher Barton Eliminators, Ballard Rippers, etc (none of those make them for the FW15). Do you, or anyone, know where I might find any? I don't want true 'mulching' blades, just something to help shred the leaves this fall. Don't know where else to inquire, thanks in advance.
