    I remember this no. By thinking 8 is 2 times of 4 ,and 9 is 8+1

    This works great if you have a decent amount of time, but I'm really having trouble remembering long numbers that I've only seen for a few seconds with that technique.

    • @bstandsforbuilding5567
      @bstandsforbuilding5567 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It just takes practice. Once you really learn how to use this method back and forth easily and swiftly and develop your abstract word creation ability it becomes powerful. Just don't give up on it, it's a very useful skill. Whenever someone gives me their phone number all I have to do is make a room just for that person and put the word related to their phone number in there and it lasts forever. So whenever I think of their face I can always relate to their phone number as well. It's also useful for just impressing people. I have my friends give me long random numbers and because I'm able to do this so quickly with no mental fog I blow their minds away. As well as my teachers with exact dates and etc.

    Than you Simon! This has been really helpful. I do have one question though. In the last example (the one with the sock, the cage, the bee and the pope), how should I remember the order of the numbers? I can picture it, but I suppose that later in time when I remember the image I will be confused with the order. Which came first? The cage or the sock? the pope or the bee?
    I don't know if i'm explaining myself here... english is not my first language.
    Hope you can read this, thank you in advance!

    • @OneHourTo
      @OneHourTo  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Andrea Campos Guerra Yes that makes sense. You should create a sequence in your mind, for example, see the pope putting on a sock, and there is a bee in it that stings his foot. Make sense?

    How we can use this technique for our study ? Plz tell sir...

    • @gytisdramblewolfskis8521
      @gytisdramblewolfskis8521 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bruh it's just for number, may help remember digits of PI, history dates, phone numbers, social numbers etc. Unlikely you would find too much use of it in studies.. Though mnemonics in general may help a bit more but still I struggle to come up with significant uses in studies.
      Knowing more theory on memory in general would help a lot thought, things like the importance of using meaning and images, taking breaks when studying at increasing intervals, avoiding cramming, imagining information visually with as much detail as possible for long term knowledge, etc.
      I can recommend a book peak by Anders Ericcson(like half of it is general memory info and second more focused on mnemonic "Tricks" including this)

  • @danielashleybaker

    Ha. Encoding 88 as five. Funny how we tend to prefer less information of a particular type with additional processing power to convert it, rather than remembering raw info. When I do memory palaces my brain hurts from the processing but it is impossible for me to remember anything if I don't do it.

  • @Ca11mero
    @Ca11mero 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hmm.. I want to like this but there are some problems with all of these videos. Because for example the word "luge" in your example would i remember as 57 rather than just 5 because of the "g". And I believe this system including every other I've seen would be problematic unless you already got to study the numbers beforehand. Like remembering a random card deck, I wouldn't have time to remember all of them in a correct order unless I had a few hours of practice of them in original order.
