- Here's a demonstration on how to create a memory palace in your mind using different mnemonic techniques. This one also incorporates memorising numbers which I cover in more depth in the video below.

I was looking for this. Just when i ranout of places. my home, office, classes, college, etc. It struck the chord wheb u said floor plans... now its just matter of picking up any floor plan running through it... and making it as a new floor to my home... you just made a large palace for me. thanks a lot.

I had a stroke recently at 70 years old. I did the memory book by Nelson Dellis. I memorized many things, including: All the Presidents and the Periodic Table of Elements. If I can do this, so can YOU.

I had a book on "how to develop a superpower memory" that had this mnemonic to remember mnemonic techniques
I wish I'd worked on it more - these tricks are more powerful than people would believe. But I always wanted a shortcut, and my memory is pretty good anyway. I didnt want to imagine tom and Jerry eating each other, taking a picture of it and putting photoup on the fridge in my imaginary kitchen
Harry Lorraine, right? We all look for shortcuts and more importantly the results, quick results. But if we could constantly practice these tricks, one day it'll hit and may start working. That's what I believe

I am following up on the Magnetic Memory Method by Anthony metivier. It is great. Everything he says on memory palaces is so true. However, I was at a loss about HOW in practice you start to link info to your stations, the ones you so meticulously prepared in your memory fortress, right? And you provided the answer for me. Smack dab in the middle of confusion. I have been preparing a list of images picturing 0-100,...but didn't quite seem to see how the two great mnemonic techniques could work together for me. And so now, this girl here is HAPPY, beyond words. I'm going to get some sleep now, but tomorrow, first thing, I will be linking my dear memory palace to images as you showed. Can't wait ! Thanks so very very much

If ou use the Grand System, you don't need the Memory Palace this way, and vice-versa.
You could multiply by ten its potential by associating 10 Peg words in each room. 1-10 in each of ten rooms = 100 items remembered !
Or think it better : you could simply represent each room on a clock cadrant while you stand in it, and visualise a specific spot that matches a time on the clock. Then you can place 12 items by room, for 120 items to remember.
This is how your memory potential can make you feel vertigo ;)

What if I need to remember many lists of if things? Is this method temporary? Can I reuse the same palace? How do I go about remember many many different lists for long periods of time? Do I have to make new palaces with new pneumatics?
Please make more videos on memory. how to increase memory power.
It is all easy at the point when you have to remember easy combinations, numbers or what you have to buy. No need to do a mind palace to remember that (and seriously I can remember numbers especialy well), but what about more complicated stuff like remembering 20 differend biochemical paths, exach with 10 different components plus enzyms or remembering 30 differends kinds of leukemia with symptoms, age of onset, causes etc.?
Use Anki and repetition flashcards.

hi , i have to remember lots of things & have to remember for a year .But I feel only once we can use if we want remember for a year if delete that stuff than again we can use but for further information have to delete last one.
why do you use the numbers and letters? you could just use any imagined object?
another question, i have to study for a biology test and need to learn 3 years of subject matter. now lets say i have to remember the digestive track so i visualize a house for that. now if i need to remember something else aswell, do i use the same rooms/objects or do i visualize new locations? at somepoint i would have a thousand locations, so how do i remember those locations?

Hey Simon thanks your reply, I still confusing how the memory skill work for the law detail which are contexts or specific conditions ;therefor, you had better to picture a situation with group of people on a situation as a whole pictures, then arranging each one to each room of your home or out-side field, like park or college, that you would be able to remember the numbers !?

Does the palace have to be real or can the palace be fictional too? I would love to imagine a big mansion filled with all sorts of different rooms I can link different types of information to.
It depends on you if you make it real or not. As long as you remember IT easily

I know this 5 years late but yes, you do. It's called the Major System. You can take about an hour or so to memorize it and it pays off

Buy the book by Michael Merzenich, PHD. "Soft-Wired". Also look into BrainHQ by the same organization, an on-line training that deals with your problem. Go to You Tube and see his lectures! All backed up by Scientific Papers! Very professional! Joe

I've been searching for people who really teach the technique of a memory palace and this one makes a lot of sense but so far the only examples have been fairly basic using lists of items, names, and numbers. What I want to know is how I can in a very efficient way remember specific events and poems and be able to quote them whenever I wanted. For example a Shakespeare poem is quite complex and (to me) is hard to visualize in this memory palace type technique. It essentially forces me to create a new item for each line or stanza which is not what I want because it takes up too much space and clutters the rooms. In order to review all of that information at certain intervals is also really annoying. Is there a "better" way of tackling this to save space?
Same, I do now want to remember thing made just of one word, but paragraphs, quotes, answers.. How dp we do that exactly?

he is teaching memory palace but forgot that number three is letter m and he labeled Land as 531.. but the reality is n goes to the number 2 so it should be 521
