Having stayed in many of hotels in Makkah, my recommendation is to stay in the Jabbal Omar area if you dont mind walking around 6 mins to the Haram. This area is a lot quieter and you have several good hotels to stay in. I can personally recommend Hilton Convention Centre and Marriot.
