Wowwwwww this is AMAZING!!!! Unfortunately, I'm a big damn chicken when it comes to flying, I've never ever been on a plane/jet, I'm horrified,,😵🤯😱😭😭😭, yet, I love seeing them take off/land from Denver, Houston Hobby Air, Dallas/FT-WORTH Airport, at the observation deck, and Houston/Bush Intercontinental Airport, oh and Courpus Christi Airport. And one time, I took my father awhile back to see his relatives in Los Angeles, of course I had see LAX, OMG it was huge!!!😵😱🤯 What an experience, holy cow omg 😵. Thanks for sharing this with me, 👏😁👍
Wow! Thanks for sharing your story. I would HIGHLY recommend flying though. It’s gotten MUUUUUCH safer over the years. If you don’t mind me asking, what scares you the most about it? Height, turbulence, possibly emergencies?
Great Video! I have never received a satisfactory answer to a question regarding the engines on airplanes. If you define the power of a jet engine from 0 to 100%, I think that 100% power is present at take-off. Do these engines also perform 100% during the entire flight when the machine is at cruising altitude?
Thank you! Great question! You are correct that 100% of the thrust is used during takeoff and part of the climb. When at cruising altitude, however, this changes. As you may know, the higher you get, the less dense the air is. Because of this, engines need to be used at a higher rate( like if you were at 25,000 feet then you may need 50% thrust to maintain a certain speed and if you were at 30,000 feet then you would need 60% thrust to maintain that same speed). It would be unhealthy for an aircraft to maintain 100% thrust during the entire flight. This is also why larger planes (especially those with more of a thrust capacity) can fly higher.(they can “move” air quicker and more efficiently.) Does this help?
@@janvirstown Clear! Thank you for the quick reply. I myself (54) am an industrial mechanic and have been a plane spotter for over 25 years and am crazy about everything aviation has to offer! Due to the Corona Pandemic, it has been very difficult for me to pursue my hobby of taking photos over the past two years. But I think better times will come again. Well, it’s louder on camera. If you’ve been on a nice 777, then you know that it doesn’t sound that loud. I love Boeing aircraft! lol this wasn’t cheap tho….
777 is a beast of an airplane . just listen to that power . only question is on take what is that wyning or whistle sound that comes and goes don't get it.
I knew it wasn’t a Rolls Royce when the engines throttled back and there wasn’t the characteristic distinct “Buzz Saw” whine from both engines - that throttle back sound is literally spine tingling beautiful.
Basically, you know how a camera has a frame rate? Well, if you were to record like a helicopter propeller, then it appears as if it isn’t moving as fast as the blades. So when the engine in my video appears to stop, instead of it being because of the camera, it is because the world moves instead of the engine. Does this make sense.(global shutter is a joke btw)
Well, if it were a bird or something, it would probably be fine. The engines are designed to withstand those kinds of impacts. If it were a compressor stall, then the engine would be useless.
Head straight for the Hudson……😉………no, seriously, one General Electric GE90 is more than powerful enough to bring that Triple Seven back to the airport without breaking a sweat. The chances of 2 x GE90’s shattering their compressor blades simultaneously is highly remote indeed.

Indeed! A rattle? I love the 777 but I didn’t know it had a rattle. I always thought that rattle came from the landing gear and the galley. I don’t think the rattle is because of wear, but maybe just how the wind hits the blade. Not sure though. Definitely have to google that.
