Got back yesterday from Rovaniemi. Its a real winter paradise from first steps out the airport. Our last day was - 28 but loved it and the kids loved the magic of santa village and just messing in the snow.
Greetings from Finland! As a person that has lived in Lapland his entire life the northern parts of Finland still gets me! I hope you enjoyed the time here!
Early december is actually just a beginning of the winter as you can see also in the video when changing flights, southern parts of finland are still waiting for "proper" winter and snow. Statistically coldest months are january and february. Springtime at march and april can be actually quite warm and more sun and daylight, still having good amount of snow up north. Just couple months can make a huge difference.
It is always "funny" to see someone so excited about snow, darkness and very low temperature. Myself, I would like to move (or at least travel) into warmer country (for period oct -> mar) I would like to return back when there is NOT so freezing cold anymore and there is natural light again.. :)

Why did AA make you check your carryon luggage? We have EPIC carryon's we can fit our parkas on one side (folded and held together with big elastic) and the other side of the carryon in packing cubes we fit ski pants and an outfit!! Didnt want to pack the parka's in the checked luggage incase they get delayed a bit....we need them!!
What you should really do is rent a cabin for a whole week outside of season (t.e.January. It's usually very cheap. Only few hundreds for a week and you get a whole different experience.
I hate the cold. Would rather sweat to death than freeze to death. Come to a south Florida winter wonder land with palm trees and palmetto's and alligators and poisonous snakes and fire ants. I won't even watch your video, just had to comment. I hate snow and cold. 😥

Our bag was slightly too big to be considered a carry on. We guess that means we’ll need smaller suitcases for our next adventure!

No plans as as of right now to visit Helsinki. It would’ve been great to go but we had already planned to go to Germany after Lapland
