‘Embarrassing’: Australia’s Olympic breakdancing ‘dud’ performance

  • Sky News host Peta Credlin says “all credit” to Australia’s Olympian teams but breakdancing had a “dud” performance.
“All credit to our magnificent Olympian team, that is bringing back a record swag of medals, but a dud performance is a dud performance, there is no point pretending otherwise,” Ms Credlin said.
“Breakdancing was one of those new sports introduced to us at Paris … unfortunately our competitor … who wrote her thesis on gender in Sydney’s breakdancing scene, well, she got precisely zero points in three rounds of competition.”

The reason they didn't get that chance is because "Breaking" is actually a sport developed and Sponsored by the International Ballroom Dancing Federation, which it did because it failed to get Ballroom Dancing in the Olympics. So it is only represented by associations affiliated with that Federation. The International Competitive Breakdancing scene is NOT represented by them, so most legitimate breakdancers were never given the change to qualify. Gunn, who was a ballroom dancer, founded the Australian chapter of the federation in 2019, obviously to get to the Olympics and exploit the 15 minutes of fame.

Nepotism and access garnered her the spot. It's priceless, especially at a time when the world is scrutinizing how easy some people in our society have access without proper experience or training. Clout gave her the opportunity and then her ties tried to spin the back story as if she needed defending. She scored 0000's. People rightfully argued why weren't more communities included in this sport.

I’ve heard this called “Princess Syndrome”, and it’s a good title for it from what I see. We see it with some Swifties as well… people that can only see themselves(or those they see themselves in) as a “hero” or a “victim”. She truly believes that she is “good”, because she decided to change the standard to be what she wants it to be(one that favors her), instead of adhering to the existing standard. But then if you don’t like it, “you must be a misogynist!” (This then fuels the social movements to further support her)
This mentality is scary and it comes from having an abundance of privileged opportunity, but with no accountability or expectations. We can’t sit a tell young girls that they can “do or be anything they want”, but at the same time, have no expectations for how they then participate. (In fact, this is called “prejudice of lowered expectations”)
She has subsided in delusion, and only surrounds herself with those whom will validate her delusions(and it’s mind blowing how many will)… and then they all protect her from ever having to face reality. It’s really pretty scary actually, even for her sake! Especially when people like this gain a place of “power”, and then gatekeep opportunity with and for their own delusions…

Nobody cares about the wnba, nobody cares about female soccer, nobody cares about female hockey. Sure gymnastics and figure skating maybe a little but aside from that, meh. If shes the "best" female athlete she gets to call herself the best in the world even though she aould place like 500th if compared to the men. And if she sucks ass from a straw and gets called out for it shell still be supported and backed by society and the media. Call it what you will but its hypocrisy, its entitlement, and its just plain wrong. I know the wokies will hate that im saying this but its the truth. Men must become, men must perform, men must ne the best or the dont exist. Women, for the most part, can just be.

i feelike artistic swimming and gymnastics are like performaces too instead of a sport. like they do all the stuff to cater the audience and judges. Meanwhile sports like shotput , beach volleyball , archery , shooting etc they all have that competitive spirit that even without audiences , athletes will still trying to beat the opponent in order to find out whos the best in their sport.

But here the Olympics are, spitting in our faces while unqualified to even judge our protest or art. They're putting rules on it. Breaking is a PROTEST NOT A SPORT AND SHE SOLIDIFIED THAT ON PURPOSE. She actually a world champion dancer but through events that lift us up not restrict us saying we can't use a move in the next round. Wake everyone up to this BS. @@teresasmith8946 There are several dance competitions in the Olympics (Dressage, Olympic Floor Show, Artistic Swimming), so that's not it.
The event was never "cut." Every Olympics, the home country gets to choose a set of new events they can add to the ensemble. Breaking was one of France's, same as Karate was one of Japan's. Neither of those are going to be in LA, because America chose an entire different slew of events to choose instead, and likewise those probably aren't going to be in the following Olympics because then it'll be a new country's choice, etc.

That’s exactly what she wanted. This fraud is a narcissist she handpicked the competition. Her husband was a judge what they did cannot be legal. It just can’t be Australians need to open a lawsuit against this chick and her husband for lying to Australia, keeping real competitors away from the Olympics, so taking away their chance to represent their country and also robbing Australia because it took a lot of money for her to be sent over there so she wasted Australian taxpayers money just so she can live out her narcissistic dream of being an Olympian.
