Read both of his books: "With God in Russia" and "He Leadeth Me." They are incredible! The first is the account of his 20+ years in Russia. The second is more of a narration of his spiritual thoughts and experiences.

thank you so much for posting these! These are before my time but it’s absolutely fascinating to watch & see the old mannerisms, the etiquette, some sexism (by 2020 standards lol) but so many heroes, the courageous coming out of wars, those who fled West Berlin, this priest who suffered in Russia, etc. The stories are unbelievable 🙏🏼 So interesting that they will have Miss universe but no one knows what she looks like, no Internet, no mass media. Definitely a different age, most worthy of respect.

Game #3: Walter Ciszek sj is a very fascinating figure: a powerful testimony of faith in face of adversity. He’s now considered a “Servant of God” in the Catholic Church, and he’s now considered for beatification: considering that the current Pope Francis is a fellow Jesuit like him, I hope in a speedy process.

The average price of a pack of cigarettes in NYC is close to $20: New York State imposes a high cigarette tax, AND New York City imposes a high cigarette tax.
