I got a set of scx24 snow tracks from Shane on etsy and did very minor modification to them to get them to fit on my Smasher, Not much else on the smasher just hp motor and heatsink but with it in high gear it adds a whole other world of giggling fun. So far I have about 4 packs ran through it no problems yet!

I've got two of these from Aliexpress as well as the one from Hot Racing. I see no difference in quality. Wouldn't be surprised if they both came from the same factory in China. Both of mine arrived in two weeks. I'm in MA so I wonder if it takes longer for people that live deeper into the states.
@@JamesMcNamara-j1g we just use marine grease for gears. Bearings should use bearing lube. I usually only lube the bearings in my race cars. I use MWX bearing lube.
“Overdrive”, I was gonna put this in my Furitek Cayman but it looks like it would mount backwards? Which end is the overdrive end the side where the motor mounts or the opposite side the motor mounts to?
The Oder drive side should be the side with the larger gear. If the cayman mounts the transmission backwards (not just the motor on a motor mount) then yah, it could be a problem.
@@keldonator yes! I did have to flip the motor to face the front. It works great though! I did have to watch that the front drive shaft doesn’t make contact with the motor.
Overdrive. Thanks for the video, i always wanted the HR overdrive trans but the price was crazy expensive. I'll look this part up. The Chameleon motor is junk. Weak, slow, and noisy. Pinion had some glue or lock tite on it causing noise at every revolution, had to scrape it off, but was still noisy. I have a Hobby Plus CR-18 55T 050 motor (thanks to donaldsneffe) that performs way better than the chameleon.

I had to order one! Found a stripped screw in my new Deadbolt trans. Can’t lube it, so I’m gonna upgrade motor, and trans.
Should be a good upgrade for sure.

Yeah, all metal gears are definitely louder. It shouldnt wear them too abnormally.

You would have a Ton of underdrive. But, you can always swap the rear to the other gear that comes with and you’d be good to go.

I also have the cayman and was looking into this. It appears to me to fit the same orientation as stock cayman. Did you try it out?
