    Watching you refer to the guidebook just boosted my self-confidence through the roof. I get SO upset with myself when I don't understand the meaning of what a card is trying to say (which happens entirely too often), so seeing someone who obviously has a better grasp of the meanings in general have to double check is more reassuring than you can possibly imagine. Also, aside from learning an awesome new spread, it's fantastic watching others read for themselves and explain cards from their perspective. It genuinely helps to gain understanding of certain things that I may not have even considered, and you actually take the time to explain. This was an incredible video; thank you for this ❤️

      Yes! It was so cool seeing Dawn Michelle, as an experienced reader, referring to the guidebook ❤️
      There’s absolutely no shame in that. The opposite actually.

      I use my guidebooks all the time! Sometimes I get stuck like we saw in this video, but sometimes I just also want to know what the creator's perspective is on the card. I don't always take what I read in the guidebook, but I often like to refer to it. I don't know a single experienced reader who doesn't refer to their guidebooks, that's what they are therefore and absolutely no shame in it. :) I think I even did a whole video on why I still use my guidebooks, you might find that one interesting too!

    Thank you for your reading! Oh that 10 of wands! Maybe painful situations you have experienced and have come to an end have taught you some lessons that can help you with other challenges you may face in the future. That's how I would see it for myself.

      Such a great tag idea, thank you for creating it for us! I'm totally obsessed with my deck but I'm gonna try to keep BW's advice in mind. :)

    o.m.g. the barbara walker! I never see anyone use/talk about this deck. It was my second ever deck when I was about 16, I never gibed with it, maybe a little too in-your-face for my young newbie self lol. I've never parted with it tho, I still have it tucked away - I even got hold of her book 'the Secrets of the Tarot, Origins History and Symbolism' which is a more in depth guide to the deck than the LWB. It was a little deep for me at that time, but I'm going to dig it out and see where it lands with me now!

      It's such a fantastic deck! It is a hard hitter, but it never fails to give me what I need. :)

    ❤️ I love seeing readers read the cards 🙌🏼 thank you for being open and vulnerable, it’s inspiring. It’s so cool seeing you grapple with those tricky cards/ cards in strange positions.
    Thank you Dawn Michelle ❤️
    I’m going to do this tag.
    Excited for your deck ☺️

    I have been getting a lot of inversions lately, like you did here! Where the negative/challenging card is the position of support and the positive/supporting card is in the challenge position. It has required of me to do the reading from the guide book (like you did), some mental gymnastics, looking at it from a different perspective and paying extra attention to my intuition. Eventually something really powerful comes out of it - like I saw it do for you here. Thanks for your vulnerability.

    Cuz of this video I bought this deck a few days ago and I did a 5 card spread with it right now... well this deck really points out things.. hell! 🤣

    Boy, that Barbara Walker is a pistol, ain't she? 😄 I am sooo nostalgic for this spread, as I think I stumbled on Kelly's channel (and, indeed, TarotTube) for the first time looking for something on the Wild Unknown because I'd just bought it as my second deck [cackles crazily as I consider how many more I have now]. It's definitely imprinted itself into my practice in some form or another since, and this is so cool of you to share your personal reflections here with us! We are witness to how those Courts/Majors have been stalking you--geez, people, back OFF! 😆

    This was a really nice video. I got the 10 of wands recently as an advice card, and i thought the advice is that from adversity i can draw strength. Maybe also drop all the extra burdens i am carrying at the moment.

    When I look at the Oppression card I’m drawn to the man with his arms crossed. I think you have a guide who is putting some obstacles in your way to guide you down the path you are meant to follow. So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed this is a reminder like you said to follow your heart. I might do a VR to this spread I like it. 😊

    Oppression made me think of tight deadlines

  • @vadal4043
    @vadal4043 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This was interesting! I've avoided the BW deck because someone said the suits were reversed? Any messing with the established structure throws me out of orbit! Can the 10 of Wands in the "helping" spot be saying the oppression/self talk you are giving to counsel yourself is helping you stay aware/balanced? And maybe the 3 of Pentacles in the "not helping" spot might be indicating that others' input might be detrimental? I haven't been reading that long, but it always throws me when I get one of those "opposite" cards in each others' positions! Good video and good example for the rest of us to follow!

    I love the way you read this! I have a version of this spread that I made for myself and I really like it as well. If I do a personal reading, can I tag you? I also plan on making into a Pick-A-Card reading on my channel. Thanks for sharing and being so open ❤

    I am wondering if you could explain why you don't do reversal reading? I don't know if you have a video so if you do please link it!

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think I've done a specific video on it yet, but the main reason is because I see that every card has a light and shadow meaning and which aspect it shows up depends on the context of the reading and the position it falls in rather than whether it's upside down or not. I did read reversals when I first started reading tarot years ago, but when I really solidified my understanding of each card, I stopped using reversals. It's still a pretty popular technique for a lot of readers. Maybe I'll try to do a video on that topic. :)

    I'm thinking the 10 of swords is saying that the state of the world is leading people to your channel and that your deck may be a huge success financially.

  • @annasmith6651
    @annasmith6651 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Maybe for the 10 of Wands you have to come to a point in the creative process where you let everything go and (free)-fall.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is an interesting thought! I've been trying not to overthink the deck I'm working on and just let it happen, so maybe that's what's it talking about. :)
