I just finished the game and I found this retrospective to be really helpful. It gave some much needed context around the pulp fiction elements of the story. I never really had an interest or even a general knowledge of pulp fiction, so during my playthrough, it was an area of the story that I didn't understand and couldn't strongly connect with. I hope you know that, even 6 years later, this essay is still valuable to people like me.

Do TH-cam users not want to watch content that has some thought behind it and substance to it? Your videos are fucking great and your channel is one of the best that I came across randomly. Amazing break-down of the game, love the approach about the central topic being highlighted, weird fiction and pulp piction. I also love how you analyze in detail the relationship between Ethan and his family. Around 13:00 and forward, you made me want to sit down in my armchair and start reading short stories and horror stories by Poe and HPL, great creation of narrative atmosphere! But if you let me say something critical: The choice of the background music in the video nearly made me have a panic attack. The narration, the topic, the scenery and the game's tempo is WAAAY off from the choice of your music. Really, every time a song ended I was legit expecting some death metal or skrillex coming in. Otherwise, amazing work!!!
