Fantastic job with the editing, its great to see a content creator with such high regards for quality over quantity. Your influence allowed me to experience the fantastic story of Nier automata so i thank you for that
Now, onto Supergiant's other games! Bastion will be perfect is you loved Transistor because it more-or-less follows the same recipe; a beat-em-up accompanied by rich, narrated story. Pyre is my personal favorite; the story, art and music was simply mindblowing, and I've never been more emotionally attached to a game's characters and their struggles. I shit you not, I had a huge nostalgia boner listening to Pyre's soundtrack... one week after completing the game. XD
please play pyre, it has a great story like this, amazing gameplay, music is god tier, its also made by super giant games, and insane amounts of lore. please, play it.
I've been gushing about Transistor at people for years, and it's unique and well-executed enough that it will feel current and engaging for a very long time.
The motivations of the cameratta has stuck with for years. "When everything changes, nothing changes", since everything can built, torn down or alternate with no regard to cost, time and resources, Nothing is remembered and thus everthing repeats itself in a circle of convience.
For those who don't follow the indie scene much, I HIGHLY implore you to explore Supergiant's three games. They are my favorite indie games and sadly, the noise died down quite quickly. I love this studio. If you want a brawler, pick up Bastion. If you want a sports-like RPG (That's right, a sports game with RPG elements) with an amazing text based story, pick up Pyre. Bricky does a great job outlining Transistor. All of these games are 20$ on PC, PS4, and varied other platforms. (Still holding out for Pyre on Switch for the local multiplayer.) Some things that these games have in common, is amazing stories, art and music. Glad you gave Transistor a shot, Bricky-Brick. Have a good one.
Pyre is NOT a sports game though. It is a visual novel first and foremost - 80% of your time will be spent reading and talking to magnificently written characters, and the rest is a high-adrenaline arcade game, which is also super fun and follows all the best Supergiant gameplay traditions of intertwining story into the gameplay, plus motivating variety.
I love that transistor's gameplay has flexibility, having come from roguelites it was a nice change of pace to be able to slow down and think through each new encounter while still having the choice and rush of action rpg gameplay. I found the planning tests easy as hell compared to the other tests so I'll probably be looking for more turn-based/strategy games in the future
When you posted your "slow down" video I didn't take you _that_ seriously... But I have to admit I was _really_ wrong... Man, this is some great content, not gonna lie, you still have to improve in doing this kind of content, but as a first video this is some good shit... Great job Bricky❤
From their first game "Bastion", to "Transistor" and their most current game "Pyre", SuperGiant Games have proven themselves time and time again to be amazing storytellers. The way they told the story of Bastion and how they made even the enemies and villains of the story to be wholly sympathetic, to the beautiful way they told the story of Transistor and Pyre, is simply amazing Our boy Bricky here is 100% right. Go get any of the games made by SuperGiant, and I guarantee you that you will have a good time. Thanks for showing this Bricky, more people deserve to know these under-appreciated games
I revisited and finished this game a second time. And compared to the first time I played it 10 years ago, I have much deeper appreciation for Supergiant Games as a whole. Easily my favourite video game devs EVER. Glad I supported them way back at 2011, because they’re still going strong especially with their latest game
Oh, this video gave my heart the good feels. I initially picked up this game because of the blend of art nouveau (my favourite art movement) and cyberpunk and the music direction. It was on my "GameStruck" list thingie as soon as I thought to do it. The game and story mean a great deal with me. To see a video like this make it onto your main channel, with an ending message I hope a lot of people pay attention to, makes me genuinely happy. Thank you. (also holy shit you got it on vinyl?! that's too awesome.)
Short, simple, and spoiler free. An honest opinion and a shift of statements from a "I didn't like... " into a "I would've liked... ". Would love to see more of this. Great work!
This is great! I fell in love with the soundtrack about a year ago and I havent actually played this game and I will someday, but Ive watched the entire playthrough because I wanted to learn more about the story and I knew watching the cutscenes wouldnt be enough on its own. Because you get so much information from even the fight scenes and all in between, mainly from the person trapped inside the transistor who I simply refer to as "Him" since we NEVER learn his name and yet he is a very likable character. You can say what you want about the ending but I loved it and it made me cry. And I cant stress enough how knowing the story a little better adds to the already amazing soundtrack that you could appreciate even without playing the game. It goes without saying that the visuals are amazing as well.
Good job on the video. I 100% agree with you. I've always been a fan of a more vague storytelling. Finding the lore, rather than getting it spoonfed. That's why games like Transistor, Dark Souls and similar games have always been my favourite. Great video and thank you for making a let's play on the game. It was very fun watching.
As someone who has played this game about 3 times if I remember correctly I absolutely adore the fact that you liked it!!! It's one of my favorite games and I'm so happy others have liked it!!!☺️💗
That's why despite Furri being hard I still enjoyed it. The moment you defeated a boss you instantly were excited for the next cutscenesand those felt harmonic. You also didn't get literally everything spoonfed but had to listen to the bosses while playing...
I'm so glad this game is getting some more time in the spotlight. Super underrated and kinda swept under the rug after its first year of being out. Has to be my favourite game to date. The art style, the music, the story, the characters; it all works so perfectly and everytime I play it I learn something new or add more meaning to the story and it's absolutely amazing
I don't like cyberpunk games but I still loved this. The aesthetics of it also help a lot. It has a lot of futuristic elements but it doesn't feel alien. It also has the same atmosphere that I perceive from nighttime in a present day city. With soft glows and lights from streetlamps and neon signs. And instead of having hologram billboards, the game world actually has paper posters. And there are other elements that give a slight sense of familiarity that makes it comfortable to explore the world of Transistor, as well as it makes the process and their effect on the game world appear more intimidating, more effective.
Please, PLEASE PLAY BASTION. It's by the same developer, and the storytelling is equal, if not better, to Transistor. It's one of my favorite games with an incredible soundtrack as well. Also, great vid Bricky!
Dang Bricky, I’ve been a subscriber of yours for a while now and I’m definitely one of those guys who just sits back in the shadows. I’ve watched you grow as a content creator all the way back since story times and CSGO. I started watching you for you league content but I love watching everything you put out now. And I’m not here to gush about you or anything, but rather say you are one of my favorite content creators for this reason: you adapt so well to the platform and your viewers while still keeping a sense of yourself as an artist. It’s videos like this that I love. I can hear the passion while you talk about this game and you can really tell that you love what you do. Anyway, sorry for the long rant, but I just wanted to tell you that you’re doing a great job and you always bring a smile to my face. And while I’ve never met you, you’ve always felt like a friend to me and I hope we can meet one day. Have a beautiful day you sexy brick.
This, Bricky. Thanks for the kind of content I yearned silently. I definitely feel you, I love good stories and lately the itch hasn't been scratched. You say you wanna influence people and I praise your commitment, this is an _awesome_ way to do it. This is effective communication. I'm picking up the game Brick!
Phenomenal job reviewing this. Transistor is my favorite game of all time and you did a beautiful job describing it in this recommendation. Things like this are why you're my favorite TH-camr. Keep up the great work
Bricky, i'm really glad you're doing this. I'm a huge supergiant games fan..I really recommend Pyre. Keep up the great work and I'll be done with a special surprise for you next year
I played transistor once it was released because it was recommended to me by a friend. For me this was the game that made me realise how good indie games can be. Not matter how much money gets puts into a triple A game it doesn't mean it is directly that much better. Loved the story and everything of it.
I've been around for a long time. I've seen guides, playthroughs, memes and charities. But i must admit... I was not expecting anything quite like this. You never cease to amaze me Bricky...
If this kind of video is what we can expect from you with the new content pacing/schedule, I can only patiently await more. It's clear you put a lot of time and effort into this, and you did a really solid job capturing what makes Transistor so special.
Someone who wanted to be influential finally making statements that exercise commanding what influence you already have. Way to go Brick, Looking forward to all the upcoming videos!
As someone who loves storytelling and aims to join the video game industry, this video was great. It's because of people like you, Bricky, that I get inspired to keep working on my ideas. I want nothing more than to deliver a game that will shock and shake you to your core and hearing you talk about games you enjoyed and why you enjoyed them is great motivation. I sincerely hope that one day I will be able to make my dream a reality and if I do, you will be one of the first people I ask to play it Keep being awesome people :)
Played this game before your play through and I recommended it to all of my friends, ever single point of expression in this game is done beautifully and makes you feel tied to this world supergiant has created. And not even just the story, the interactions in combat and the combat itself makes you feel the power behind your character and gives everything you do weight and meaning (partially from leveling different abilities as you said for story), 10/10 a must buy.
Wow. You can't be serious. I heard about this game yesterday, got it, and played through the whole thing today. And you upload this video now? Talk about perfect timing
I remember playing this game a while ago, the visuals look stunning, the storyline is brilliant, the gameplay is impressive (especially the fact that you can combine different abilities), the soundtrack is phenomenal. Really a complete game, I can't think of anything this game lacks.
One of the best free PSN games ive ever played. Fell in love with the soundtrack upon hearing "The Spine". The lore of the world is complex, kinda depressing and beautiful at the same time.
Transistor was the first game I 100% completed. I played the game 3 times in the course of two months because different elements kept me coming back for more. The music, the style, the tone, to learning more about specific character motivations and actions taken. What a great game.
Bricky, I love you so much for doing this You said everything I always wanted to shout at the top of my lungs about this game I'm legitimately proud of being subscribed to your channel
Transistor has been my favourite video game for almost 4 years now and it only gets better the more think about it. I call this the "aftertaste" of a game. The gameplay of Transistor is good. It's not for everyone, but it's good and it's deep. The story is not easily understood and you miss most of the subtleties when playing the game for the first time. So the first taste was good. A little less spicy than Bastion, but still good. But then you replay it. You notice the subtleties, you understand more about the story, you streamline your fighting style, you learn that each ability in your arsenal is a reflection of the person who were absorbed into the transistor (like Sybil's charm) and you come up with all these theories "What is the Country? What do the Selections mean? Who is the Mysterious Man who saved Red?". The more I think about that game, the better it gets. That's what I mean by aftertaste. And Transistor is the tastiest game I've ever played and I enjoy this taste every time I replay this beautiful game. Also Darren Korb is a freaking genius! Him being a childhood friend of Supergiant's founders and being on these games super early on, means that his music inspired the art and design and vice versa. The soundtrack fits the game so well and is really nice to listen to on its own as well!
One of my faovurite quotes from bastion that applies to both the first 2 supergiant games is "most stories start at the beginning, ain't so simple with this one" and even if in both games I feel like I got a solid understanding and appreciation for the story after playing them once, the way the game can be priamrily gameplay for msot of its runtime, and still the whole time be slowly building its story into one that makes you think about events and how things all reach into each other is just, so good, supergiant shows such a good understanding for what video games can do without feeling like the game needs to shy away from what it is. I played hades when it came out and only recently after hades 2 started going through their backlog and am currently on pyre but its been such a fuin and interesting journey.
Wow, I'm quiet amazed to be honest, I always loved your content. But now that you're putting more effort into it than before, it's getting even better. Keep going, it's awesome. PS: 100% gonna play that game
Hi Bricky, I want to thank you so much for this vid. I-ve always liked you from the first videos i saw of you. I-ve been following you on YT for a few months and seeing most of the vids you upload even though I don-t play the same games as you do, but I still watched them because what I liked about the vids was not the game but you. I saw this video the day you uploaded it, and since I was already looking for a game to play, when I heard you describing it with a huge amount of passion i decided to give it a try. I absolutely loved it. Thank you immensely and sorry for my english I love you so much and i-d like it a ton if you could recommend more single-player story-based games like this one. Again i'm so grateful. Keep up the amazing work.
I see where you're going with this type of video in the long term. And if creating these types of videos are enjoyable for you, I can see what type of rewards you'll get from investing time into this. Good luck. :)
Transistor is one of my favorite games of all time, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it when you played, Bricky. I agree wholeheartedly - it's one of the best examples of storytelling in games. Also, a question. Did you cry at the end?
Dear brick, more of this, please, i have discovered i adore vids like this through another channel that does them really well but is quite small, if you would also start doing vids like this, just talking and discussing core concepts in story telling, games how it all relates the art of it, everything, i will be ecstatic
I rarely buy games, unless I feel like they're really worth it. You just made me think it may be worth it. Awesome Video dude! You should do more stuff like this.
I'm so glad this game made the same impression on you that it did on me. I also found it much better on my second play through. The soundtrack is magical, I found myself in the Oasis room just listening to songs on the record player for ages. Then I bought the CD and now its got a permanent place in my car stereo haha
Supergiant games are always incredible, always innovative, always with interesting characters and plots, always with mind blowing music and so far they've never let me down interms of quality content.... After playing this game I bought the other 2 titles without even bothering with reviews Cuz I knew it'd be amazing and it was. To all those who haven't played their titles I suggest u try it immediately you won't regret it.
Bricky, your amazing production quality has impressed me yet again, thank you for "slowing down". I implore you to play Pyre for its glowing settings as vibrant characters, and Bastion for its themes and worldbuilding. Both have amazing stories and soundtracks, and are an expierence I would love to share with you.
transistor was easily one of the best games i have played in a while. i bought the game during a steam sale years ago, and got to playing it a month ago. Im glad i got back to it. I had a beautifull litle gem of a game hiding in my steam library. This game makes you WANT too replay it till you understand it all. atleast if it goes on sale do yourself a favor and get this game!
Ok well I started playing warframe because of you and enjoyed it, and then bought for honor because of you and I'm really really enjoying it. This seems like the kind of game that I'd love and it almost seems like reading a book with gameplay. I'll trust your recommendation Bricky and get this game.
BRICKY! I've been saying it for months and I'll keep on saying it. You have to play Valiant Hearts: The Great War. In a way, it's similar to Transistor. It has pretty fun gameplay and an amazing story, as well as probably the best character development I've seen in a game ever. And the ending, just... wow. It had a lasting effect on so many players and almost every youtuber that played it has cried (for real tho). Yes, I know the game is a little old, but hey, it's a fucking good game. And with you showing your appreciation for great storytelling, I think you should definitely give Valiant Hearts a try.
I hope you play Bastion either on your channel or in what spare time you can find (I need to find time for Pyre myself) because while the story didn't move me quite as much as Transistor did it's absolutely worth playing. The folks at Supergiant are amazing people and I'm glad they are still finding new fans.
Hey Bricky, incredible video as always! Have you thought about doing such kind of videos after finishing a walk-through game play? I know some video games don't require a review like this oen but it would be imo quite interesting to hear what you felt through the games you play for us (in a condensed video just like this one). Maybe I'm wrong and you just want this to be a one hit. Yet again, thumbs-up!
Great video bricc! I really enjoyed you playing transistor, but stopped after a few episodes because I want to experience it myself now. I'm still at playing Life is Strange atm (talking about good story) and will get Transistor right after!
Ah yes, Transistor, one of the few games whose soundtrack sits on my phone, so I can listen to it whenever I want. Also, good god, the numbers of hours I spent in the practice room just playing with different combinations. I remember Jaunt and Breach being a favorite combo of mine. Damage to any enemies between your start and stop points is indispensable. Ok, i need to go start a new save now, it's been too long since I played. Oh! Bricky! Go play Pyre! It's SuperGiant's newest game. Mechanics can be kinda clunky, but it lives on it's characters personalities and the story of the world they live in.
My god bricky if you start making video essay style videos you will have ascended past being my favorite youtubed and instead become an object of worship
I still haven't bought a player for the Vinyl yet.
I'll get there.
Briky let me do the same to You: vampire: the masquerade bloodlines. just play it and do a series If u can ;)
Bricky damn Bricky if you write a bock I will buy a ton of them
Fantastic job with the editing, its great to see a content creator with such high regards for quality over quantity. Your influence allowed me to experience the fantastic story of Nier automata so i thank you for that

get ready for Hades
Seeing Hades take the world by storm was amazing to see having already known about the studio prior to their popularity

I SEE THE SPINE OF THE WOOOOOOOOOOORLD
Hoessein Hijazi sparkle and shine
liiiight the innsiiiiide
That little shit had some spine I gotta say
I SEE THE SPIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE OOOOOF THE WOOOOOOOOORLD
transistor was a masterpiece of a game that genuinely made me cry at its ending
Whaaaat, effort into content?
Seriously good job though.

Do you know any other games with art nouveau themes?
Dragon age tarots come in my mind only
I actually like this more or less serious review.
I'd like more, to be honest.
4 years later: you're eating good now
Why does this not have more views?? In my eyes, this is one of Bricky's best videos he's ever created. Other than the SOAR video of course....
his closing note on this should have been "Love, Bricky" cause this sure as hell felt like a love letter
Short, simple, and spoiler free. An honest opinion and a shift of statements from a "I didn't like... " into a "I would've liked... ". Would love to see more of this. Great work!
I love that you got around to playing this Brick. I had almost forgotten how incredible of a game that this was.
This is great! THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING A VIDEO ON THIS GAME. A true work of art that should be shared with the world.
Please, PLEASE PLAY BASTION. It's by the same developer, and the storytelling is equal, if not better, to Transistor. It's one of my favorite games with an incredible soundtrack as well.
Also, great vid Bricky!
Spencer Olson I agree with this whole heartedly. I fucking adore Bastion.
Never managed to leave Zulf behind... I always crack and carry him -.-
You should probably delete this post, NOW. ALOT of the people here likely haven't played it.
Talking about Nikola Brankovic, I'm not sure how visible the 'reply' is.
In my opinion (which no one has to care about), I think Transistor is superior.

Waited until I finished Transistor to watch this and the playthrough. Top tier this video is. Keep up the good work.
Bricky, i'm really glad you're doing this.
I'm a huge supergiant games fan..I really recommend Pyre.
Keep up the great work and I'll be done with a special surprise for you next year

Well, this video is a really nice change of pace, really fluid and well thought out, keep up the good work bricky
This game. This game is one of the few games that left me wanting to play it for the first time again. It was amazing.
I started my 3rd playthrough recently, I am very very fond of this game man. Crazy you come out with this now
Excellent video Bricky. And I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly.
Been thinking it over about this title. You have convinced me wholeheartedly, great video btw
I saw. I clicked. I came.
Not regreting.
Ive seen you in guitar lesson videos
I think
Is this how caesar salad was made?
Oh man that was a really great Video Bricky. Loved every second of it
Thank God for random steam sale recommendation!
This is sooooo good....
Wow, I'm quiet amazed to be honest, I always loved your content. But now that you're putting more effort into it than before, it's getting even better.
Keep going, it's awesome.
PS: 100% gonna play that game
Thank God for this vid man. Transistor needs so much more attention.
Hi Bricky,
I want to thank you so much for this vid.
Thank you immensely and sorry for my english
I love you so much and i-d like it a ton if you could recommend more single-player story-based games like this one.
Again i'm so grateful.
Keep up the amazing work.
I'm so glad you finally checked Transistor out. Truly a masterpiece
Got it on the PS4 a while back. Love it! I'm so happy that you made a video game analysis on the game!
Loved this type of viqdeo, even more so cause it reflects precisely why I game and also why I loved transistor so much, great job man
I wasn't expecting this kind of video from you...at all. Please give us more whenever you want.
I see where you're going with this type of video in the long term. And if creating these types of videos are enjoyable for you, I can see what type of rewards you'll get from investing time into this. Good luck. :)
I'd been waiting for this since you talked about it on stream. Much excite
Please Bricky i want to see more of this. Make more of these kinds of videos. This one made me return to your channel
This could very well be my favorite video in your channel, and there's a lot to choose from :)
Please do more videos like this bricky! You’re very good at it!
Not overly complex or particurlarly profound (it is spoiler-free, after all), but I like this new kind of content. This is great.
I remember playing this game two years ago and I fell in love with it.
Glad you enjoyed it so much. That gives me hope to see bastion (or Inside because too many people Sleep on that too) as a playthrough
Bricky, I bought Transistor this summer sale and I absolutely loved the story. :)
man, because of bricky and his videos, I laughed, giggled, made that dumb :| face, and cried, thank you
Ok well I started playing warframe because of you and enjoyed it, and then bought for honor because of you and I'm really really enjoying it. This seems like the kind of game that I'd love and it almost seems like reading a book with gameplay. I'll trust your recommendation Bricky and get this game.
It would be cool to hear your in depth thoughts on every game you finish in your lets play series! love the channel btw, wishing you continues success
Please make more of this! Such a good video!
Transistor is an amazing game, I love it.
Yes Bricky love this new style of video
Please do more :)
Thank you for existing bricky.
More videos like this one, its interesting, there is a topic, opinions, toughts, god job man!
Luc Wehrens played it some weeks ago but i must say it was rather ok.
And vampire the masquerade: bloodlines
Someone RECOGNIZED TRANSISTOR
You're mah man, bricky
I hope you play Bastion either on your channel or in what spare time you can find (I need to find time for Pyre myself) because while the story didn't move me quite as much as Transistor did it's absolutely worth playing. The folks at Supergiant are amazing people and I'm glad they are still finding new fans.
I freaking loved this game. I don't know how it flew under my radar.
This game was indeed amazing. After beating it once I had to hunt for all of the achievements. Pretty proud of the 100% now
This game is great and so is the video. Good job Bricc.
more videos like this Bricky. More please, if you want more content that you viewers want to see it is this kind of content
I had just finished the game, but this game is amazing! from the art to the story telling.
ah this one, one of my favourite soundtracks. Especially the Waterwall
I love when you do this shit and not just meme around. Good on you sir.
