The 0db Moderator is almost as expensive as the Barra 1100z rifle. I just bought two 1100z's for $225. ea from Pyramid Air. In my backyard range my closest neighbor is 200 yards away with trees in between. I put a $30 CV Life scope on each rifle. The competition is going to be stiff this summer (2024). My range length is 45 yards. If I want longer, I'll have to break out the chainsaw. I am located in the NorthEast New England southern Maine area. Since we shoot off the back porch, we have an electric 3000 psi pump. Hand pump is for taking into the woods only. The 210cc fill tank on the rifle also means a quick fill. which I like. Also for sh!tz and giggles, we break out the Crossman DRS full auto .177, and print out some "Shoot Out The Star" game targets. I've modified mine to bypass the CO2 and take PCP air from an Air Venturi (1100psi regulated) 13 cubic inch 3000psi bottle. Fun, fun, fun. I cant wait for good weather.
Hi Rick thanks for the video. Between 15 to 55 yds. I lowered the power on my HW97 to about 15and a half ftp from 18and a half. Much smoother and crisper. And a little quieter now.
i just bought an 1100z in .22 mostly based on your videos and good coverage of it. i have 70 yards off my front porch in the exurbs, which has always been enough but with the barra i can easily hit cans and 4" metal wall plates (great cheap targets). i need to get a chrono so i can plot data, but i have the hammer spring turned in 6mm from flush and i fill it to about 2600psi which feels about right for my range except the 70yd wall plate is awful beat up, so it might be more power than i need for plinking. if i can get away with 3-4mm and 2200psi and still hit 70yds i'll be happy. FWIW i bought from Moab and had to hitup their customer service once and they were fantastic- super responsive and nice and express shipped me a part when they really didn't have to.
Rick, I liked the video a lot. High power is not always possible for everybody. I also try and find a good low power tune for my 25-30yd. Also it's good fun tuning for accuracy at low power. I'm getting 100 shots from my maverick 22 with hades (765fps) from 200 down to 150 bar. 1.2cm groups 😎. getting the most fills out of my 300 bar cilinder is also a sport. Also I found my regs like that range of 200-150 bar the best for some reason. ( Maverick 22 700mm 480cc regs 110/75 hamer minimum 15.89gr 750-770fps depending on weather)
Always enjoy your video's rick and I know it seems everyone just wants to watch PCP air rifle video's But I wish you would go back to your roots of break barrels air rifles a little more and do more reviews of some break barrels and under lever spring and gas ram air rifles. I know you do some on the channel and cover a lot of gamo air rifles but how about some weihauchs, Beeman, and diana spring and gas ram air rifles. Or the new air arms TX 200 laminate stock would be sweet as well. I know it is a high end springer but they are amazing air rifles.
Hey there. It comes down to what sponsors are willing to send me. I have some spring guns lined up for Q1 and I continue to reach out to manufacturers, but if they don’t send the samples, my hands are tied. And then there’s the costs to create the content. AGW is my full time job not a hobby project. TH-cam does not pay enough per month to cover even the editing of one video. So I have to rely on sponsor support. Many vendors and manufacturers had a rough year last year and are cutting back. We are having to retool our entire process to keep things going. Hopefully it will all work out and we’ll have a great year. Cheers AGW
@@AirGunWeb I kinda thought that might be the case as far as the sponsors and actually being able to get guns to review. I know every airgun or knife or anything fo rthat matter I show or review on my channel I paid for out of my own pocket and that gets expensive quick when I have zero sponsors. It was watching your channel 0ver 12 years ago that really got me back into air rifles and especially spring air rifles and gas ram air irlfes. Even tough I like PCP air rilfes I am a spirng and gas ram air rifle fan more then the PCP air guns and prefer shooting them over the PCP air rifles. it was all those break barrel springers and gas rams you reviewed back in the day and the ones I bought bacck then that made me really fall in love with shooting them. So I apprecciate that and all yo do for air gunning and will always try and support your channels and what you do' So a big thanks from me to you for that. I did see you will be reviewing the gamo CFX sometime soon I acctually have one of those on order as well and should be here sometime soon. I love a good under lever air rifle probably my favorites of all to shoot.
I followed your set up and was able to get dime sized groups at 25 yards with the .22 crossman hollow point pellets. With moderator it’s measuring below 90 decibel’s
If you are brand new, reach out to a forum like Gateway To Airguns or Airgun Army. There are a ton of folks there willing to help you get started. I’d recommend something like the Vevor personal compressor. It will work great with this gun. Cheers AGW
Hey man i love your videos.. And i want you to help me to understand the adjustments on the hammer spring.i want to buy the barra 1100z and i would love you to tell me all the position on the hammer spring.
Hey there.. first of all, make sure that you have a chronograph so that you can measure the changes. From there you can adjust your gun to your liking. It's trial and error, so you need a way to measure it as you go. Cheers AGW

Great content, Rick! I would like you to compare this with the Notos in a head to head. Aim small, not high. Keep it in the bullseye! 😉👍

I fill mine to around 2400 and have around 7 turns on the hammer spring, groups well with 15.89
How many consistent shots do you get with that tune? What’s your psi at the end? Also what caliber? 🍻
I backed my s400 down to 6ftlbs and thats plenty for 20yrd plinking and targets. With a spread of less than 5fps

Air venturi I like it so far so good only about a hundred rounds so far
New to these types of air rifles. I need recommendations on where to get pumps connectors to fill this new rifle up?

Is the muzzle devise you used effective and where can it be purchased?

I noticed the suppressor. Barra website doesn't offer one for 1100z. Where can I purchase one?
There are several options you can Google: 0dB, Buck Rail, Airgun Capital, DonnyFL. They all have options.

@@AirGunWeb Will the 27 inch model be available too? It looks like it would be a fun hog and dove gun. thanks
how does PCP guns vs springers hold zero on the scope ?
PCP's have basically no recoil so super easy to hold zero on them with a scope
Indiana. 50yards.
My new 1100Z is lost in the mail. Sucky!
